  • Google Patent Applications: Google patent applications that are pending before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Patent number: 11948014
Abstract: Methods, systems, devices, and computer-readable storage media for managing a multi-tenant cloud computing platform. Rather than maintain cluster control planes separately for each tenant, a cloud provider control plane implemented on one or more nodes can manage the creation, allocation, execution, and destruction of cluster control planes in an on-demand way. Computing resources can be used more efficiently at least because resources are not under-utilized. Adding additional tenants can be done with zero or small marginal cost per-tenant, because cluster control planes for servicing requests by the tenant are executed in response to a request, but destroyed when a tenant for the plane is idle. Multiple instances of an API server implementing a platform API for communicating between devices of the platform and clusters of computing resources can be generated and modified on a per-tenant basis.

  • Patent number: 11948576
Abstract: Implementations can reduce the time required to obtain responses from an automated assistant through proactive caching, locally at a client device, of proactive assistant cache entries—and through on-device utilization of the proactive assistant cache entries. Different proactive cache entries can be provided to different client devices, and various implementations relate to technique(s) utilized in determining which proactive cache entries to provide to which client devices. In some of those implementations, in determining which proactive cache entries to provide (proactively or in response to a request) to a given client device, a remote system selects, from a superset of candidate proactive cache entries, a subset of the cache entries for providing to the given client device.

  • Patent number: 11948045
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for parallel optimization of continuously running quantum error correction by closed-loop feedback. In one aspect, a method includes continuously and effectively optimizing qubit performance in-situ whilst an error correction operation on the quantum system is running. The method directly monitors the output from error detection and provides this information as feedback to calibrate the quantum gates associated with the quantum system. In some implementations, the physical qubits are spatially partitioned into one or more independent hardware patterns, where the errors attributable to each hardware pattern are non-overlapping. The one or more different sets of hardware patterns are then temporarily interleaved such that all physical qubits and operations are optimized. The method allows for the optimization of each section of a hardware pattern to be performed individually and in parallel, and can result is O(1) scaling.

  • Patent number: 11947984
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for introducing a user to functions of various applications through interactions with an assistant agent. The assistant agent can correspond to an assistant application that can provide a user interface with multiple selectable elements, each of which can correspond to a separate application. When a user selects one of the selectable elements, a function of an application can be demonstrated to the user, in order that the user might become more familiar with functions of the application. In some implementations, a portion of the selectable element can be selected to cause information about the application to be presented to the user. This allows the user to have the option to try out or learn about an application before investing computational resources through downloading and installing the entire application.

  • Patent number: 11948520
Abstract: PWM-frame rate misalignment is mitigated through implementation of a discrete variable refresh rate (VRR) scheme. A target frame rate is limited to a frame rate selected from only those frame rates that facilitate alignment of each frame period to a specified edge of a PWM cycle of a brightness control signal of a display panel. This alignment results in each frame period at the selected frame rate starting at a same point in a corresponding PWM cycle and ending at a same point in a corresponding PWM cycle to help ensure a constant effective duty cycle across each successive frame period, which in turn mitigates perception of flicker that otherwise would arise. Further, the discrete VRR scheme can employ a compensation mode for compensating for the delay in rendering or otherwise obtaining a frame for display so as to maintain a consistent duty cycle in the brightness control signal.

  • Patent number: 11948565
Abstract: A method for combining hotwords in a single utterance receives, at a first assistant-enabled device (AED), audio data corresponding to an utterance directed toward the first AED and a second AED among two or more AEDs where the audio data includes a query specifying an operation to perform. The method also detects, using a hotword detector, a first hotword assigned to the first AED that is different than a second hotword assigned to the second AED In response to detecting the first hotword, the method initiates processing on the audio data to determine that the audio data includes a term preceding the query that at least partially matches the second hotword assigned. Based on the at least partial match, the method executes a collaboration routine to cause the first AED and the second AED to collaborate with one another to fulfill the query.

  • Patent number: 11949924
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for determining watch time loss regions in media content items. In one aspect, features for a video are input into a trained model that is trained to output watch time loss regions. The trained model is trained using labels corresponding to known watch time loss regions in training videos and features of training videos that correspond to the known watch time loss regions. A watch time loss region defines a time window of a video during which a likelihood of a user stopping playback of the video is more than a threshold likelihood. In response to inputting the feature for the first video into the trained model, data regarding watch time loss regions for the video is obtained from the model and provided to an entity involved in providing the video to a user.

The interactive communications system can analyze various communications from the user device(s) and/or agent device(s) during a communication session in which the user (via the user device(s)) directs various communications to the agent, and in which the agent (via the agent device(s)) optionally directs various communications to the user.

Abstract: A method includes receiving audio data encoding an utterance spoken by a native speaker of a first language, and receiving a biasing term list including one or more terms in a second language different than the first language. The method also includes processing, using a speech recognition model, acoustic features derived from the audio data to generate speech recognition scores for both wordpieces and corresponding phoneme sequences in the first language. The method also includes rescoring the speech recognition scores for the phoneme sequences based on the one or more terms in the biasing term list, and executing, using the speech recognition scores for the wordpieces and the rescored speech recognition scores for the phoneme sequences, a decoding graph to generate a transcription for the utterance.

Abstract: Techniques described herein relate to facilitating end-to-end multilingual communications with automated assistants. In various implementations, speech recognition output may be generated based on voice input in a first language. A first language intent may be identified based on the speech recognition output and fulfilled in order to generate a first natural language output candidate in the first language. At least part of the speech recognition output may be translated to a second language to generate an at least partial translation, which may then be used to identify a second language intent that is fulfilled to generate a second natural language output candidate in the second language. Scores may be determined for the first and second natural language output candidates, and based on the scores, a natural language output may be selected for presentation.

Abstract: A speaker verification method includes receiving audio data corresponding to an utterance, processing a first portion of the audio data that characterizes a predetermined hotword to generate a text-dependent evaluation vector, and generating one or more text-dependent confidence scores. When one of the text-dependent confidence scores satisfies a threshold, the operations include identifying a speaker of the utterance as a respective enrolled user associated with the text-dependent confidence score that satisfies the threshold and initiating performance of an action without performing speaker verification. When none of the text-dependent confidence scores satisfy the threshold, the operations include processing a second portion of the audio data that characterizes a query to generate a text-independent evaluation vector, generating one or more text-independent confidence scores, and determining whether the identity of the speaker of the utterance includes any of the enrolled users.
