  • Patent number: 11876955
Abstract: A method for qualification of a camera system and/or its image/camera signals of a partially autonomously or autonomously driving vehicle. Infrastructure information from a vehicle's surroundings is used. The image/camera signal of the camera system is monitored by a monitoring function with regard to at least the following criteria: image/camera signal in recurring, known time windows, sequence of the image/camera signals, corruption of the image/camera signals, signature checking of the camera system. Checking of the image/camera signals using unmoving land markings that are reconciled with a list is carried out and they are checked for a mapping signature. Then the image/camera signals and the infrastructure information contained in the updated map check function are communicated to an evaluation function and merged and compared in a signal fusion unit. Consequently, a qualified image/camera signal is obtained.

  • Patent number: 11849105
Abstract: In an arrangement where a physical phenomenon affects a digital video camera and is measured or sensed by a sensor, a delay of a digital video stream from the digital video camera is estimated. The digital video stream is processed by a video processor for producing a signal that represents the changing over time of the effect of the physical phenomenon on the digital video camera. The signal is then compared with the sensor output signal, such as by using cross-correlation or cross-convolution, for estimating the time delay between the compared signals. The estimated time delay may be used for synchronizing when combining additional varied data to the digital video stream for low-error time alignment. The physical phenomenon may be based on mechanical position or motion, such as pitch, yaw, or roll. The time delay estimating may be performed once, upon user control, periodically, or continuously.

  • Patent number: 11846561
Abstract: A method for determining the transmission quality of an optical unit in a camera system to draw conclusions about dirt and/or wear in the optical unit and particularly to determine whether the optical unit requires servicing, includes transforming spatially resolved information relating to at least one image from the camera system sectionally using a frequency transformation so that a sequence of transformation coefficients is determined for each section of the at least one image. Each transformation coefficient is a measure of the energy in a specific frequency range. At least one sequence of transformation coefficients having the highest energy values for the highest frequencies is selected. Using the at least one selected sequence a distribution of the frequencies is determined, the distribution of the frequencies is compared with a reference, and the transmission quality of the optical unit is determined using the comparison.
