  • Patent number: 11930925
Abstract: A multi-functional, space-saving, and economical furniture item, made of wood, that converts shape and function to provide storage, seating, a desk-top workspace, and a countertop-height workspace. The furniture item is a bench that provides seating and has a flap that can be “actioned” (folded down) to provide a table for writing. The bench is integrally formed in a unitary structure that affords multimodal transformation and practicality for ease-of-use and desired functional range. By lifting the bench seat clockwise and lowering the backrest, the furniture item transforms into a countertop or a desktop workspace. Undoing the said steps transforms the countertop back to the bench.

  • Publication number: 20210268136
Abstract: A process for sanitizing and/or disinfecting porous and solid surfaces and airborne particles in ambient air by killing bacteria and viruses, including the steps of: providing an enclosed water storage tank having a predetermined maximum water surface level, generating ultrasonically with an ultrasonic oscillator mounted slightly below the water level in the water storage tank, a dry mist that is forced into a blending chamber above said water level in said water storage tank; an air blower with an airflow outlet connected into said water storage tank, and above the tank maximum water level, and an ozone generator outlet connected into said water storage tank for providing a predetermined amount of ozone, above the water level, into the water storage tank during operation, creating an ozone-saturated dry mist. The ozone dissolves in the dry mist and forms a saturated or super-saturated dry mist created in the water storage tank.

  • Patent number: 10851002
Abstract: A system for determining operating conditions of a rotating biological contactor includes a sensor including a first end coupleable to the gearbox assembly of the rotating biological contactor at a radial distance from a rotation axis of a rotatable shaft. The rotatable shaft rotates a plurality of media elements about the rotation axis to treat water within a basin of the rotating biological contactor. The sensor also includes a second end coupleable to a brace to prevent rotation of the sensor and the gearbox assembly when the rotatable shaft is rotated. The sensor further includes a body extending between the first end and the second end. The sensor is configured to detect a load on the body when the rotatable shaft is rotated. • Publication number: 20130185188
Abstract: Methods and systems for trading fixed-payoff derivative contracts between two or more parties based on the movement of one or more underlying financial instruments. Specifically, win, lose or draw positions for or against the occurrence of a designated price event above an underlying financial instrument's spot price before the occurrence of a designated price event below an underlying financial instrument's spot price, or vice versa, with respect to a designated time period. If neither designated price event occurs with respect to the designated time period, no loss of position is incurred by either party. Methods and systems include American-style and European-style contracts, transferable positions, multiple underlying financial instruments within the same contract, asymmetric time periods within the same contract and expirationless time periods.

  • Patent number: 8386189
Abstract: Techniques for analyzing one or more protein structures. In one aspect of the invention, the technique comprises the following steps. A normalized second-order hydrophobic moment is determined for a protein structure. The normalized second-order hydrophobic moment is then used for analysis of the protein structure. A scoring function in accordance with the normalized second-order hydrophobic moment for the protein structure may be determined. A score for the protein structure may then be generated using the scoring function. The scoring function may represent an integral of the normalized second-order hydrophobic moment. The scores may be generated for a plurality of protein structures. The scores generated for the plurality of protein structures may then be compared.

  • Patent number: 8201233
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided to allow Internet Key Exchange (IKE) phase 1 keying materials to be periodically refreshed in a secure manner without requiring user interaction. A client and server perform authentication and key exchange during set up of a secure connection. A token is passed to the client by the server during or after the initial user authentication phase. The token is stored both at the client and at the server. Instead of requiring user credentials, the token can be used to securely prove the identity of the client.

  • Patent number: 8135546
Abstract: Techniques for analyzing protein structures, such as a tertiary protein structure, are provided. A centroid of the residue centroids is calculated. The centroid of the residue centroids is used as a spatial origin of a global linear hydrophobic moment. The correlation between residue centroid magnitude and residue solvent accessibility is enhanced. The global linear hydrophobic moment is defined, wherein each of the residue centroids contributes a magnitude and direction to the global linear hydrophobic moment. A method for comparing at least two tertiary protein structures is also disclosed.
