Patent number: 7192258Abstract: An axial flow type cooling fan, comprising an upper casing, a lower casing, a rotor assembly, and a driving unit. The lower casing and the upper casing enclose an inner space. The rotor assembly is housed in the inner space and performs a rotational movement. The rotor assembly further comprises a plurality of blades, attached to a central shaft and having a peripheral ring, from which a peripheral rim extends outward. The driving unit has electric coils on the upper or lower casings and permanent magnets on the peripheral rim, causing the rotational movement of said rotor assembly. By the arrangement of these structural parts, an increased area of air flow and consequently increased air flow are attained, while drag and noise are reduced.Type: GrantFiled: December 10, 2003Date of Patent: March 20, 2007Assignee: Industrial Technology Research InstituteInventors: Chii-Ron Kuo, Chia-Yang Chang, Tzeng Wuu Wey

Patent number: 6453676Abstract: A structure of a 50 pound thrust level gas turbine jet engine combustor is a small type 50 pound gas turbine jet engine combustor. The combustor includes a combustor outer liner, a combustor inner liner and a hub. Pressure swirl fuel atomizer and thin film cooling devices are further used. In the combustor, a primary jet flow is matched with a jet tube so as to build a stable recirculation in the primary zone. 12 SIMPLEX fuel atomizers are installed in the inner liner for jetting fuel radially. The fuel must be jetted properly, if it is too close the front plate, the droplet will impact the front plate, then the downstream will possible destroy the recirculation structure. Therefore, if the fuel is jetted in proper positions, then the retaining time of fuel will be reduced greatly and the burning in the primary zone can be enhances. By analyzing and testing, it is appreciated that high temperature will induce at the middle section near the wall of the inner liner.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 2000Date of Patent: September 24, 2002Assignee: Industrial Technology Research InstituteInventors: Wu-Chi Ho, Ling-Chia Weng, Tzeng-Wuu Wey
