Abstract: Disclosed is a welding helmet including an anti-blinding device to selectively control a welding operation and a grinding operation, and more particularly, a welding helmet, which stably protects the welder's eyes and enables easy switching of the anti-blinding device from a welding operation mode to a grinding operation mode or vice versa without taking off the welding helmet. In addition to the anti-blinding device to protect the welder's eyes from light emitted from a welding or cutting torch during a welding or grinding operation, a switch is provided at an outer surface of the welding helmet to allow a welder to conveniently select a welding operation mode or a grinding operation mode without taking off the welding helmet.

Abstract: The Baby Carry All Smock provides a specially designed bib style apron boasting a variety of oversized, large pockets, pouch style in which a wide array of baby goods can be easily stored and readily accessed, without falling out. Oversized, deep pockets are positioned on each hip of the garment, enabling the user to store and access such items as a baby monitor, wipes, diapers or small toys, baby bottles, teething rings or other infant accessories. Abstract: The breast-cancer recovery system comprises a breast cancer recovery garment, an organizational subsystem and a needs kit. The breast cancer recovery garment comprises a body portion defining an opening, positioned, configured and dimensioned to allow the performance of a breast cancer treatment procedure and a closure device suitable for closing the opening when a procedure is not being performed. The body portion of the garment defines the elongated pocket proximate the bottom edge, extending along the bottom edge and defines slits in at least one of the sleeves. The body portion of the recovery garment comprises of a warm material and/or of decorative pattern. The organizational subsystem comprises a frame configured to support a plurality of color-coded files, and marked with identification tabs which relate to breast cancer patient needs, and customized medical information.

Abstract: Adaptive pants are constructed with a zipper along the pants' outside seams from waist to cuff, allowing the legs to completely open. Inserts used to modify the shape of the pants leg to accommodate leg surgeries and prosthesis are designed to fit into the zippers. The resulting assembly allows disabled individuals to more easily put the pants on and retain a ‘normal’ appearance.

Abstract: A convertible shirt having a sleeveless base and a sleeved half-shirt configured to couple to the sleeveless base is disclosed. In at least one embodiment, a convertible shirt includes a sleeveless base, a sleeved half shirt configured to couple inconspicuously to the sleeveless base, and a multiplicity of fasteners to couple to the sleeved half shirt to the sleeveless base. Abstract: A medical glove is provided for protection against the transmission of infectious agents. The medical glove comprises a glove body sized to tightly enclose a wearer's hand. The medical glove body has a palm portion and adjoining finger portions. A webbing adjoins two of the finger portions. The webbing is sized to receive a stethoscope head between the finger portions when the finger portions are separated. The medical glove is formed of an acoustically transmissive elastomeric material that is substantially non-porous and sufficiently thin to allow tactile sensitivity and dexterity.

Abstract: A head covering garment designed for medical use comprising a single piece of flexible, insulating material sewn together to form a generally bag shaped article of clothing which is worn about the head of a medical patient functioning to prevent latent heat from escaping the patient's head area covered by the garment. The garment is easy to place about the head of the patient, is comfortable to wear, stays securely about the head, and can be packaged for sale in a generally flat condition.

Abstract: Lower-body garment with a combined stretchably-retained, fastenably-split waist. The waistband is sleevelike and split by overlapping ends having circumferentially opposing mouths. A stretchable band is encapsulated in, and unfixed entirely throughout, the waistband. The stretchable band has opposing ends passing out of the opposing mouths in the waistband and coupled into an endless loop by a coupling device for adjusting the length of the stretchable band. An unfastenable locking mechanism is provided on the overlapping ends of the waistband. Opening/closing portions are formed by at least one split in a predetermined location in the garment body, extending to a common terminal position and continuous with the split in the waistband.

Abstract: Shoulder straps (2) and side straps (8) for securing a body armor vest (1) to the torso of a wearer. The shoulder straps and side straps are constructed out of a breathable pliable material having elastomeric qualities and shaped to ergonomically conform to the shape of a human body. The shoulder straps go over a wearer's shoulders and have curved middle portions (7) to conform around a wearer's neck. The side straps go around the sides of a wearer's torso. The side straps are substantially Y-shaped having and have curved middle portions to provide additional comfort to a wearer. The side straps are also reversible so that a wearer may have a single end (9) attached to a front panel (12) of the body armor vest and a double end (10) attached to a rear panel (13) of the vest or vice-versa depending on the wearer's preference and body type.

Said material is suitable for both military and civilian use, in particular for ABC applications.

Abstract: Flame resistant fabrics are formed by warp and fill yams having different fiber contents. The fabrics are constructed, for example, by selection of a suitable weaving pattern, such that the body side of the fabric and the face side of the fabric have different properties. The fabrics described herein can be printable and dyeable on both sides of the fabric and are suitable for use in military and industrial garments. Methods of forming flame resistant fabrics, and methods for forming garments from the fabrics, are also described.

Abstract: The invention provides a fabric (10) comprising a porous layer (15) that is porous in the direction along the layer, the porous layer including fibres (16) extending across the layer, whereby, in use, fluid (A) is arranged to be driven along the porous layer in the general extent of the layer. The fabric allows heat from a body in contact with the fabric to be carried along the porous layer, thereby efficiently cooling the body. The invention also provides articles comprising the fabric, such as clothing. Advantageously, the fabric is lightweight, flexible and non-bulky, and provides efficient cooling of the body.

Abstract: A neck protector comprising a collar sized and shaped to provide a continuous closure around a neck of a wearer. The collar has a first pair of opposed ends, with one end having a first tongue and the other a first groove. The first tongue fits into the first groove to form a first tongue and groove interlock, which is maintained with a closure. Also, an upper body protector which may be used in combination with the neck protector. The upper body protector comprises a body portion and a spine protector shield system, and/or a chest protector shield system attached to the body portion. Both shield systems comprise at least two overlapping shield sections sized, shaped and positioned to cover at least a portion of the wearer's spine or sternum, while permitting flex, freedom of movement, and venting.

Abstract: An article of protective clothing includes a strip of multilayered flexible material adapted to be wrapped entirely around a wearer's neck to form a collar therearound. The multilayered flexible material comprises an interior layer of cut-resistant fabric disposed within a cover of wicking fabric. The strip includes a layer of memory foam attached to a medial portion thereof and an adjustable fastener disposed coextensively over opposite short edges thereof to adjust a diametric size of the collar.

Abstract: The present invention provides a toilet seat having a non-powered apparatus for automatically flushing a toilet using water pressure and body weight and a method for controlling the toilet seat. The toilet seat includes a weight sensor and water passage control unit (300) which senses a body weight and controls discharge of water, supplied through a pipe, depending on the turning on/off of a control valve, and a check valve unit (400) which controls the amount of water passing through a water passage from the control valve of the unit (300) depending on water pressure and displacement of the toilet. The toilet seat further includes a cylinder actuating unit (500) which is operated by pressure of water supplied from the weight sensor and water passage control unit (300) when the body weight is detected by the unit (300), thus automatically supplying water to the automatic flushing apparatus.

Abstract: A device for removing obstructions from a drain is provided and is in the configuration of a toilet plunger having an agitator element for promoting movement of fluid and a shroud. The agitator element includes a driver having a cup that is formed with a plurality of accordion-like ribs or is semi-spherical in shape. The shroud limits any flow of fluid into a buffer space between the agitator element and the shroud, thereby operating as an anti-splash feature.

Abstract: Various embodiments of a cartridge for regulating a fluid flow are described that include an upper housing, and an insert that is user-removable from the upper housing. The cartridge can include one or more valves that are biased in a closed position to prevent odors from escaping the cartridge. The cartridge can also include a fluid trap that is at least partially disposed within the cartridge or fluidly coupled thereto. An ultraviolet light can be inserted within the cartridge to disinfect a fluid passageway of the cartridge.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a device for removably coupling a disposable nozzle tip for a bidet. The device includes a nozzle, a nozzle tip, a guide cover, and a removable coupling unit. The nozzle has a nozzle body through which a washing-water guide hole passes, and a coupling hole. The nozzle tip has a coupling protrusion removably inserted into the coupling hole, and a jet hole to spray washing water. The guide cover is secured to a bottom of the nozzle tip in such a way as to be positioned under the jet hole, and guides the washing water to the jet hole. The removable coupling unit includes external threads formed in an outer circumference of the coupling protrusion, and internal threads formed in an inner circumference of the coupling hole.

Abstract: A tub for toddlers, especially active toddlers for use in a standard bathtub. The Toddler Tub is made of a durable plastic material and shaped to hold water. The tub includes a temperature gauge so that the bather knows that the water is the right temperature for the toddler. The tub also contains a roughened outer bottom and outer side surfaces for frictional engagement with the bottom and inner sides of the standard bathtub. The inner bottom surface of the toddler tub is also roughened in order to provide a slip-proof surface. The roughened outer bottom and outer sides of the toddler tube is a rubber, mat like material that covers the bottom and outer side surfaces and extends from one side of the toddler tub and hangs over an outer side of the standard bathtub. The toddler tub extension allows for a slip proof surface on which the bather may lean while bathing the toddler as well as a slip proof surface for the toddler to engage while being bathed.

The pipe connector may provide the mechanism to hang a shower curtain. In one particular embodiment, a splitter connected above the first shower head provides the mechanism to split the water supply.

Abstract: A non-inflatable resting device used for heating and cooling is provided with a plurality of interconnected channels located close to an external surface of the resting device. Each channel substantially occupies the space between two support beams and the interior of said external surface. The comfort level of the resting devices is considerably increased while maintaining adequate structural integrity of the channels when the support beams are constructed with a cushion material having layers of different hardness levels. The top layer is a cushion material with high initial softness ratio. The arrangement of the channels and beams allows a non-pressurized conditioned fluid to flow underneath of the external surface providing a resting device with a heating and cooling system with unmatched energy efficiency. The high energy efficiency of the proposed resting device is due to the elimination of the compressor motor and the thick cushion layer used on the top surface as required by the competition.

Abstract: A low air loss universal coverlet includes a perforated top layer formed with a breathable waterproof material, a middle air permeable layer underlying the lop layer, and a bottom plenum layer underlying the middle air permeable layer. The bottom plenum layer includes air tunnels and air pockets. An air source is connected to the bottom plenum layer and supplies pressurized air to the air tunnels and the air pockets, where air flows from the air pockets, through the middle air permeable later, and through the top layer. The air pockets define tufts when filled with air that support a patient on the surface and prevent blocking of air flow.

Abstract: The female cushion/pillow support devices described herein may provide comfort and/or support to a woman's breasts while lying in a prone position, e.g., on their stomach. For example, the support devices herein may enhance comfort for women after an operation and/or experiencing other medical issues, women with breast augmentation, and the like, to facilitate them lying in the prone position. In addition, the support devices may protect the breasts when flattened by the woman's weight. The support device may have a thickness sufficient to raise the user's body away from the support surface to reduce or substantially eliminate pressure on the breasts received within the openings.

Abstract: A hospital bed is equipped with a patient mobility aid device having at least one adjustable lateral grip that aids the patient in performing certain movements such as entering or exiting the bed. The patient mobility aid device includes a support crossmember having a length oriented along a width of the bed. Couplers at the ends of the crossmember attach to frame elements of the bed. The crossmember houses at least one arm to which the adjustable lateral grip is coupled. The at least one arm extends and retracts with respect to the crossmember.
