Abstract: The present disclosure describes a sock with graduated compression and pads. The pads are on the leg section of the sock and are adapted to increase protection of the wearer, particularly, in sports applications. The pads can be aligned with the wearer's shin, which is a relatively unprotected during many athletic contests. Pads can also be positioned on the side of the sock. These pads may help protect the wearer's ankle or the side of the leg.

Abstract: A child's garment which has a cartoon character of a stylized animal face secured to its front surface. A sound producing module is inserted into the interior of the character or animal. A first series of fasteners extends across the front of the garment, and a second set of fasteners extends across the front of the garment, and a second set of fasteners extends across the back of the module. The module is snapped into temporary engagement with the garment. The sound produced by depressing the module is related to, or associated with, the character or animal. The module, when unsnapped, is removed from the garment and placed in a playpen, stroller, or other location, as a stand alone toy. The garment may then be cleaned and laundered.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide a system and device for making garment. One embodiment, for example, includes a system that comprises a processing device and a sewing module that sews garment material to facilitate making the garment. The system further comprises memory that includes a thread count manager having instructions stored in the memory. The instructions are executed by the processing device and include logic configured to instruct the sewing module to sew the garment material based on counting threads of the garment material rather than using the geometric shape of pieces of garment material.

Abstract: An infant bodysuit having a pair of rows of snap sockets either one of which can receive a curved row of snaps studs, the rows of snap sockets and snap studs being provided along a gentle curve that is easy for a caregiver to match up the studs and sockets. Reinforcement, through a woven fabric facing, is provided in the region of the snap sockets on the front panel to provide two-dimensional stability throughout the region. Rib binding is used along the leg openings and covers the facing material for improved comfort to the infant. A flat, straight edge bottom is provided along the bottom edge of the front panel to reduce bulkiness. An improved leg opening is achieved by significantly narrowing the width of the front panel from the top of the leg opening down to the attachment portion.

Abstract: Examples of a nursing cover are described, including a cover having a top edge and a stiffener comprised of a shape memory material having a material memory coupled to the cover using a securing mechanism to prevent the stiffener from rotating. In one embodiment, the material memory causes the stiffener to assume a pre-determined shape, to temporarily deform without breaking the stiffener when force is applied to the stiffener, and to reassume the pre-determined shape. In one embodiment, an end of the stiffener provides a substantially smooth surface to prevent abrasion.

Abstract: A formal shirt that allows for increased athletic movement and a method for production of such a shirt. Increased movement is achieved by sewing a “pivot panel” between the front and back shirt panels. The pivot panel moves the side seam away from the major stress concentrations caused by common lumbar and brachial rotations. The pivot panel avoids binding at the shoulders, tends to reduce wrinkling, and prevents the shirttails from coming untucked.

Abstract: Elastomeric film-like products such as natural latex gloves are coated with novel lubricity compositions and compositions which protect the skin of the wearer from certain undesirable medical conditions. In powder-coated gloves, the coating composition comprises rice starch, and optionally USP-grade colloidal oatmeal in pharmaceutically accepted concentration. In powder-free gloves, the coating composition comprises colloidal oatmeal enhanced water or beta glucan solution, optionally in combination with one or more other starch components. Colloidal oatmeal enhanced water, and methods of making the colloidal oatmeal enhanced water are also disclosed. In addition, beta glucan solution, and methods of making the beta glucan solution are also disclosed. A liquid referred to herein as Polycoat may also be made by mixing colloidal oatmeal enhanced water with beta glucan solution, and the resulting liquid may be applied to elastomeric articles such as gloves.

A plurality of clear areas void of any printing allows to see through the substrate or the substrate assembly of layers. Abstract: A facial mask and related methods of manufacture wherein the facial mask include an image printed on a flexible substrate. A plurality of individual void spaces are defined within a perimeter of the image. These void spaces can be defined by the intentional absence of ink left during the printing process or by individual perforations through the flexible substrate that allow a wearer of the facial mask to see through the printed image without obscuring the user's field of view including peripheral vision. The plurality of void spaces are generally sized and spaced so as to minimize their effect on the aesthetic appearance of the image to observers while providing a user with the maximum possible visibility. The disclosed methods of manufacture can be used with conventional masks or accessories so as to reduce the visual impact of eye and mouth openings that detract from their overall appearance.

Abstract: Disclosed is a buckle device that releasably locks an elastic band including a plurality of engaging portions in a lengthwise direction. The buckle device includes a buckle holder and a pair of slide buckles slidably fitted to the buckle holder. The buckle holder includes a pair of locking pins apart from each other and a pair of guide surfaces. A pair of elastic bands are hung on the locking pins respectively. The guide surfaces are inclined in opposite directions with respect to a plane passing through the pair of the locking pins. The slide buckle has a ratchet protrusion configured to engage the engaging portion of the elastic band and a slide surface configured to come into surface contact with the guide surface of the buckle holder.

Abstract: Disclosed is an infant blanket wrap that is specially tailored for use in an infant carrier or car seat having a crotch strap. The present invention comprises an article of material with two flaps, a bifurcated leg portion that forms a pouch for each leg and a securing means for the upper terminal end of the leg portion. The bifurcated leg portion allows a parent to place a swaddled baby in an infant carrier without removing the blanket and disturbing the child. The device also includes a securing means for the bifurcated leg portion. This allows the leg portion to fold down for ease of entry into the blanket and creates an extended tube portion that covers the infant's torso, keeping the child completely covered.

Abstract: A patient handling device, such as a bed, stretcher, cot, or the like, includes a deck on which a patient may lie and which is surrounded by siderails. Control panels may be mounted on the siderails in a staggered fashion to improve the ease of accessing the control panels. A handle assembly may be included near the top of the Fowler section of the deck which allows a pair of handles to be squeezed independently for manual pivoting of the Fowler section. Squeezing one handle does not increase the force required to subsequently squeeze the other handle. The pivoting of the Fowler section may also be carried out automatically through an electrical actuator. The raising of the deck may be carried out through an electrical pump that pumps hydraulic fluid, and which may be activated near the top end of the stroke of a reciprocating pedal.

Abstract: A Firefighter Rapid Emergency Extraction device or F.R.E.E. Sled, is an emergency piece of equipment that acts as a rapid removal sled in which to apply to a downed firefighter, FF, within moments of locating or arriving at the victim. The F.R.E.E. Sled allows for the low profile loading and packaging of the downed FF as well as a securing strap for the RIC bag and air supply unit so that it stays with the victim. The instant invention allows the rescuer to quickly retrieve the compactly stored sled from the storage compartment of their own response vehicle, enter, locate and package the victim without the need for converting the gear that may be worn by the victim-firefighter. The F.R.E.E. Sled easily allows the operations level rescuer to secure the harness system in low-to-zero visibility environments with the “Twin Strap-Two Snap Buckle” method faster and more efficient than any other device available in the rescue art without having to remove the rescuers' protective gloves to accomplish this task.

Abstract: This invention is directed to a durable, compact, two-piece, light weight, load sustaining litter system for the transport of humans, animals or objects. The litter system comprises a litter frame, a fabric disposed between the structure of the frame, at least one hinge and at least one coupling mechanism. The litter system may be quickly assembled under adverse conditions and may be particularly beneficial in transporting individuals who are injured, disabled and/or incapable of movement under combat and/or emergency conditions.

Abstract: A mattress construction having a resilient core incorporating deformable foam either alone or in combination with integrated springs with a complimentary flame barrier fabric disposed in overlying relation to the resilient core. The flame barrier fabric has a stitch-bonded construction with elastomeric yarns extending in stitched relation through a fleece substrate of substantially inelastic character incorporating a percentage of flame retardant fibers. In a relaxed condition, the fleece substrate is bunched between stitch lines formed by the elastomeric yarns. Upon the application of tension, the barrier fabric stretches by the extension of the elastomeric stitching yarns in combination with a flattening of the fleece substrate.
