Publication number: 20130061383Abstract: The high flow water return fitting of the present invention is designed to connect directly to the end of a water return pipe in a swimming pool, spa, or the like. Water return fittings have been available for many years and have the primary purpose of returning filtered water back into a swimming pool, spa, or the like. However, the water return fitting of the present invention does not only return water into the swimming pool, it also substantially increases the water outflow so that a greater area of water in the pool can be circulated or agitated. The present invention has a uniquely curved nozzle with a flat flange. Both the curvature of the nozzle and the flat flange promote the accumulation of water within the nozzle so as to build up pressure that then pushes the water out a small outlet hole at a greater rate than does a conventional water return fitting. The outflow from the nozzle then creates a low pressure condition within a mixing chamber.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2012Publication date: March 14, 2013Inventors: Warren Hartmann, Reza Afshar, Michael Steffen

Publication number: 20130061403Abstract: When treatment liquid is re-used for washing objects, first of all there has to be a test as to whether the concentration of the at least one treatment additive in the used treatment liquid is sufficient. Up to now all the treatment liquid to be re-used has been measured for this purpose. If it is necessary for the measuring to filter solids, which influence the measuring, out of the treatment liquid beforehand, all the treatment liquid to be re-used has to be filtered. This requires a correspondingly efficient filter. The invention provides for branching off a small amount from the treatment liquid to be re-used as a sample and only measuring said sample with regard to the concentration of at least one treatment additive still present in the used treatment liquid. Only a small part of the treatment liquid to be re-used serving as a sample has then to be filtered prior to the measuring process. Only a relatively small filter is necessary for this purpose.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 29, 2011Publication date: March 14, 2013Applicant: Herbert Kannegiesser GmbHInventors: Wilhelm Bringewatt, Enbelbert Heinz

Publication number: 20130061404Abstract: The invention provides a method for cleaning a soiled substrate, the method comprising the treatment of the moistened substrate with a formulation comprising a multiplicity of polymeric particles, wherein the polymeric particles are applied in combination with a detergent formulation, the method being characterised in that the detergent formulation is divided into its sepcrate chemical constituents and these chemical constituents are added at different times during the wash cycle. The method allows for improved cleaning with reduced overall chemical loading, and facilitates addition of the more expensive parts of the formulations when they are most effective for cleaning performance, thereby providing considerable cost savings in comparison with conventional all-in-one detergent formulations. A method for cleaning the polymeric particles is also provided.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 12, 2011Publication date: March 14, 2013Applicant: XEROS LIMITEDInventor: Stephen Derek Jenkins

Publication number: 20130061406Abstract: The description relates to modular bridges. On example of a modular bridge includes multiple parallel longitudinal modules. An individual module includes a steel superstructure embedded in a concrete deck that includes a longitudinal keyway. The concrete deck serves to maintain a longitudinal camber of the steel superstructure rather than diminishing the longitudinal camber. Adjacent parallel longitudinal modules are bolted together at adjacent opposing longitudinal keyways.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 13, 2012Publication date: March 14, 2013Applicant: ALLIED STEELInventor: Patrick Southworth

Publication number: 20130061408Abstract: A device for cleaning a surface, such as a barbeque grill, has a substantially hollow enclosure that has at least a lower side, an upper side, and a peripheral edge, and contains a plurality of motors that each has a rotational shaft selectively fixable with a rotatable brush. At least a portion of bristles of each brush projects below a plane of the lower side of the enclosure. The enclosure further contains a power source and a circuit adapted for connecting power to each of the motors for a preset period of time upon actuation of an electrical switch connected thereto. The circuit is adapted to run each motor in a first direction and then an opposing direction, such that if the device becomes stuck at an obstruction, it will eventually turns around due to the alternating directions of the motors.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 7, 2012Publication date: March 14, 2013Inventor: Ethan Woods
