Abstract: A ballistic armored component attaches to the existing retention straps of common combat helmets and provides protection to the otherwise exposed lower skull and upper neck region. A fabric covering contains a soft armor or hard armor insert, and is mounted by straps or other fasteners to existing straps found in conventional helmets. The armor component may be fabric of aramid fibers, or fabric of ultra high molecular weight polyethylene fibers, or may be fabricated of a rigid plate of ceramic, polymer, or metal. The armored component adds additional protection from ground-level or subterranean munitions, by placing a ballistic shape on the lower skull region (occipital region), providing significant additional ballistic coverage with minimal weight and bulk. The fabric shell may also be connected directly to the helmet shell, to allow the component to withdraw within the helmet when the wearer's neck is flexed rearwardly.

Abstract: Ballistic material side elements are shaped to cover portions of a wearer's face and selectively attached to a ballistic helmet. The side elements cover the sides of the wearer's head, but leave room to avoid interfering with hearing needs and goggles. These side elements are held in place by connecting them to the existing helmet shell with an encircling strap and band, or to the straps and hardware of the helmet retention system by receiving portions of the straps through loops on the interior of the side elements. A front ballistic member may join the side elements to cover a significant portion of the wearer's face. The ballistic material is formed of a plurality of layers with a resin and joined by the application of pressure. Higher pressure in the forming of the side elements produces stiff members which stay in place when attached to the helmet.

Abstract: The present subject matter is directed to a ventilated eye shield for a ski helmet. The eye shield comprises means of rotatably connecting the eye shield to the helmet body, the eye shield having raised and lowered positions relative to the helmet body, a straight upper edge, a lower edge having a notch adapted to rest on the skier's nose, a resilient foam separator attached to the lower inside edge of the face shield isolating the vision region from the breathing region and air inlets on either side of the lower edge of the face shield. The foam insert is contoured to prevent snow or debris from penetrating between the inside of the face shield and the skier's face. Outside air may penetrate from the air inlets on the sides of the eye shield, ventilate and prevent fogging of the inside surface of the eye shield.

Abstract: A composite extended-sleeve protective glove is disclosed for multipurpose use in healthcare, industry, academic institutions, veterinary care, farm, and home for applications in which to protect the user's hand and arm from a variety of liquid exposures during washing, cleaning, material application, and other hand-arm exposure situations that may contain biological, chemical, or radiological agents. A glove of similar or dissimilar material to that of the sleeve is sealed to a fabricated, tapered tubular constructed sleeve with an elastic (or cinched) turndown cuff on the distal end from glove to protect the wearer from fluid exposure to the hand and from fugitive exposure to the upper arm. The protective glove is sealed fluid-tight to the sleeve by a hot-melt adhesive.

Abstract: A protective garment which protects outer clothing from perspiration and body oils specifically in the underarm region that comprises an outer layer fabric and an inner layer fabric. The inner layer fabric is attached to the outer layer fabric, either in the under arm regions of the body or throughout the entire protective garment. The protective garment is constructed and designed to have a neckline the extends below the breast of the female, or below the neckline of the male, removing sizing difficulties due to breast size and remaining out of view and inconspicuous when worn with clothing.

Abstract: A hand muff is fitted with a series of pouches and compartments. The hand muff has a purse strap which itself is collapsible and folds into a compartment. When deployed, the strap converts the hand muff into a handbag. The compartments allow for the use of the handbag with resealable different pockets.

Abstract: The instant invention is uniquely shaped garment that can be placed into numerous configurations wherein the front becomes the back, the back becomes the front, the top becomes the bottom and the bottom becomes the top. The garment can be configured to fit around a wearer's upper torso as a top, or dimensionally sized to fit both the upper and lower torso as a dress with a means for positioning defined by illustration.

Abstract: An example garment in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure includes an article of clothing covering at least a portion of a body of a user, an access port providing an open space through the garment for a medical device, and a removable patch covering the access port.

Abstract: A convertible cover includes a cover and first and second panels. The first and second panels each have first and second sets of opposing sides. One of the first and second sets of opposing sides are attached to a front side of the cover and the other of the first and second sets of opposing sides are not attached to the cover. An alternate convertible cover and a method of converting a cover into a cape are also disclosed.

Abstract: A gripping device coupled to an article of clothing. The gripping device can be coupled to the article of clothing by an extension leash operatively coupled between the gripping device and the article of clothing. In some implementations, the extension leash is in sliding engagement with the article of clothing and configured to allow the gripping device to be extended and retracted from the article of clothing. The disclosed apparatus can be configured to transition the gripping device from a non-use, stored, or stowed position to an extended position capable of being used by a wearer or user to increase the gripping effectiveness, strength or protection of the user.

Abstract: A long sleeve shirt construction that incorporates a stretch panel in the sleeve. The stretch panel extends part or all of the length of the sleeve. The stretch panel extends around a portion of the circumference of the sleeve either with a constant width or tapered and is positioned at the underside of the sleeve. Optionally, the sleeve includes a hold tab for retaining the sleeve in the rolled-up position.

Abstract: A garment for protection from the elements includes a blanket defined by an upper edge, a lower edge and a first side edge and a second side edge disposed between and connecting the upper edge and the lower edge, the upper edge, the lower edge, and the first side edge and the second side edge together forming a substantially rectangular shape, a hood connected to the blanket along the upper edge, a seat cushion assembly disposed on the blanket, the seat cushion assembly including a seat cushion pocket and a seat cushion removably disposed in the seat cushion pocket, and an attachment device attached to the seat cushion assembly circumscribing a waist of a wearer.

Abstract: A body temperature-adjusting vest which includes a plurality of generally rectangular pockets in each of which is housed at least one cooling and/or warming gel pack capable, when activated, of transferring heat between its contents and the wearer's body. The pockets themselves are part of a wide, belt-like, generally symmetrical array worn snugly about the torso. Side-by-side pockets form the array's mid-section where the vest's gel packs are concentrated. Additional pockets are connected to, but spaced apart from, the mid-section by elasticized side bands which pass under the armpits and can be stretched slightly, pressing each pocket against the torso. Reversible in that the array and shoulder straps supporting it can be quickly repositioned and worn with the mid-section in front or back, the vest can reduce a wearer's exposure to changing wind directions and the like.

Abstract: A moisture dispensing system, and its method of use, are presented for wetting a medical device prior to insertion into a patient. The moisture dispensing system comprises: a fluid reservoir configured for attachment to the dorsal aspect of a surgical glove when worn by a wearer; and an absorbent pad configured for attachment to the palmar aspect of a digit of said surgical glove when worn by a wearer, wherein said absorbent pad is in fluid communication with said fluid reservoir.

Abstract: An athletic glove system for interface with a capacitive touchscreen as a human hand is received therein. The athletic glove system includes a hollow flexible body member and a plurality of glove stalls, including a finger glove stall, each attached to and projecting from the hollow flexible body member. The finger glove stall includes an inner finger surface, an outer finger surface, and a conductive layer positioned between the inner and outer finger surfaces. The conductive layer defines a matrix of interstices that includes a conductive layer pathway. The conductive layer pathway is configured to move electrically conductive bodily fluids emitted by the skin of the human hand from the inner finger surface to the outer finger surface. The electrically conductive bodily fluids exit the conductive layer pathway at the outer finger surface to establish a change in capacitance at the capacitance touchscreen to operate the touchscreen.

Abstract: A linesman's outer glove (14) for being worn over an electrically insulative linesman's inner glove (12) includes a hand portion (30) for covering the linesman's hand and a cuff portion (32) for covering the linesman's lower arm. The hand portion (30) includes a palm portion (40), a back hand portion (42), and finger portions (44). The cuff portion (32) is connected to the hand pot on (30). At least one pad (50) is secured to at least one of the palm portion (40) and finger portions (44). The pads (50) include a substrate ($2) and at least one rib (60) disposed on the substrate. The at least one rib (60) improves the linesman's grip while wearing the outer glove (14).

Abstract: The no-tie neck wrap is a flexible fabric which contains a piece of elastic used to form around the neck securely without the need to tie. The no-tie neck wrap is draped around the back of the neck, with ends extended outward then crossed on the chest and released to keep in place. The no-tie neck wrap is composed of two rectangular pieces of fabric with elastic placed in between the two pieces. The elastic is cut shorter than the fabric length used. It is then fastened to the mid-end points on both ends of one piece of fabric. The second piece of fabric is placed on top of the first piece with elastic to create a sandwich effect and is stitched around the edge of the rectangular shaped body. Once closed the fabric creates two small bunches of fabric on both ends to act as a locking mechanism.

One example embodiment includes one or more channels underneath the sock to transfer moisture from one or both of the heel or toes on the bottom of the sock. Some embodiments transfer moisture from the bottom of the sock around the arch to the top of the foot. Some embodiments include elements for drying the heel and/or toe and transferring it through the arch around the top of the foot.

Abstract: An integrated impact energy absorption system application for enhanced safety performance of sports related protective head gear. A multiplicity of pattern positioned energy shock absorption impact strips of high performance dual elastomeric polyurethane resin of the invention are selectively secured in a pattern orientation on a sports helmet to protect critical vulnerable locations on the exterior thereof. Preformed impact absorption strips are of a composite construction having internalized compartment energy attenuating cells in a repetitive matrix construction for enhanced forced absorption and deflection to the helmet surface to which they are so secured.

Abstract: Eyewear, such as a goggle, is provided that can include an anterior module and an interchangeable posterior module. The anterior module can be adapted to support at least one lens in a wearer's field of view. The posterior module can be adapted to fit against a contour of the wearer's face and can be selectively interchangeable with the anterior module to modify at least one physical characteristic of the eyewear. In some embodiments, the anterior and posterior modules can be coupled by a suspension assembly in order to allow articulation of the posterior module relative to the anterior module for evenly distributing forces against the wearer's face. Further, the anterior module can be rigid for maintaining the lens in an optically-desirable orientation. Furthermore, the goggle can comprise an interchangeable lens mechanism to facilitate interchanging of lenses in the goggle. The goggle can comprise a roll-off system or tear-off system.

Abstract: The application relates to a flame blocking venting trap (FBVT) adapted to vent a garment, the FBVT comprising a proximal layer; a central venting layer superposed to the proximal layer; and a distal layer superposed to the central venting layer. The the proximal layer is forming a first fold with the central venting layer and the central venting layer is forming a second fold with the distal layer to act as a flow restricting apparatus configured to prevent air and flames to get through the FBVT from the outside of the garment and allow air to get through the FBVT from the inside of the garment. A garment including one or many FBVT is encompassed by the present application.

Abstract: A toilet seat hinge includes a lock feature to releasably attach the hinge to a bolt head fastened to a toilet bowl. The hinge includes a hinge base, a key plate, and a grip. The hinge base includes a mounting structure to which a toilet seat can be pivotally mounted, as well as an aperture in a bottom surface thereof through which the bolt head can pass. The key plate includes a keyway having a large end that can be aligned with the aperture for insertion of the bolt head and can be slid into a locking position where the small end is aligned with the aperture to retain the bolt head within the hinge base. The user-movable grip includes a guide which travels in an L-shaped slot to restrain movement of the grip to an L-shape (two-movement) for moving the keyway into and out of locking position.

Abstract: A low gravity fed water system includes a housing having an inlet opening, a portion of the inlet opening disposed above the waterline and a portion of the inlet opening disposed below the waterline. The housing has an outlet opening disposed in the housing below the waterline in fluid communication with the plurality of jets. The housing has a vent opening disposed in the housing below the waterline. An upwardly-extending conduct is connectable at a first end to the vent opening, and has a second end disposed above the waterline in ambient air away from an inside surface of the housing and away from an inside surface of the tub. In the event of a blockage of the inlet opening, air is drawn into the housing via the conduit inhibiting a suction being drawn on the inlet opening.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a remotely mounted pump system for removal of standing water from a pool/spa cover. The system includes a pump that is remotely located from the cover, and is not positioned on the cover. The system may further include at least one hose which may be removable from the cover or secured with the cover.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide an improved pool. Embodiments of the present invention also provide a method of making an improved pool. The pool can comprise an integrated sidewall joined to a floor portion. The integrated sidewall can be constructed from one piece of material, and can have fewer seams than traditional pools, thereby reducing the likelihood that that pool will rupture and leak. In some embodiments, since the pool has fewer seams than traditional pools, fewer manufacturing steps are required to make the pool. This can increase manufacturing speed and decrease cost.

Abstract: A channel drain with a water stop is adapted for handling pool water in a swimming pool having a plastered surface. The channel drain, preferably a sump drain includes an elongated channel having a drain port and an opening for receiving pool water. A water stop abutting and substantially encircling the opening is formed into a trough for retaining and collecting the pool water. The drain is configured for installation in a pool with the water stop buried in the plastered surface, such that pool water seeping between the opening and the plaster is trapped by the trough, preventing the pool water from intruding beyond the plastered surface.

Abstract: A far infrared (“FIR”) sauna cabin equipped with a far infrared (“FIR”) heating elements constructed of ceramic, carbon, and/or light emitting diodes (“LED”), designed for therapeutic use in a sauna, capable of emitting far infrared energy, and heating an individual's skin for purposes of rejuvenation, anti-aging, weight loss, and acne therapy. The FIR heating element emits IR energy in a wavelength and frequency optimum for resonant absorption by the human body, resulting in the release of toxins stored within subcutaneous fatty deposits, which are then carried out of the person's system as he or she sweats. The FIR sauna cabin is further equipped with necessary hardware and tools to effectively create a more flexible environment in which the user can change seating configurations, move about more freely and conduct stretching routines or exercises within the sauna cabin, using specialized fittings integrated to the interior of the sauna cabin.

Abstract: A shower pan (10), preferably having rectangular planform includes a central drain (20) that is centered in a floor portion that inclines at a shallow angle (i.e., 3 degrees or so) to front and back sides and opposite ends. The floor portion and includes a shallow channel (46) along the front edge of the shower pan (10) into which all or substantially all water is drained to a second channel (48) into a central drain (20). An apertured grill or cover plate assembly (36) is mounted in the channels and serves as a cover for the various channels. The shower pan (10) is typically installed so that a sill surface (50) is at the same elevation as the pre-existing floor (52) to provide an entry that does not have any type of ‘trip’ points or obstructions that could pose a hazard to the useror impede assistive aids, such as walkers or wheeled chairs.

Abstract: A compression drain for use with a preformed floor in which the height of the drain grate can be adjusted relative to said floor, and which positively locates the drain housing relative to the subfloor/waste water drain pipe. The arrangement provides a unitary, water tight, assembly that uses very little material to be manufactured, has very few moving parts, and is very easy to install.

Abstract: A bed chair apparatus includes a user support surface which includes a seat section, a back section, and a leg section, the back section being hingedly connected to one end of the seat section, and the leg section being hingedly connected to the other end of the seat section. The user support surface is configurable in a bed configuration in which the support surface is substantially flat and in a chair configuration, the user support surface being supported on a frame, the frame including an axle and lever dependent from the axle. Abstract: A bedding cover made of pest-impermeable fabric provides a zippered opening for insertion of mattresses, pillows, upholstered cushions and other bedding. At the end of the zipper track, where there may be a small opening when closed, a flap is attached to a plastic collar, which is stitched to the fabric cover at and around the end of the zipper track. The flap is adapted to fold over the end when the zipper is closed, providing a seal that prevents pests, such as bed bugs, from escaping the bedding cover or infesting the bedding.

Abstract: The present invention may include one or more L-shaped flanges each having a top member and a lateral member. The top member may also comprise a lower adhesive material. Additionally, the lateral member of the L-shaped flange may include a plurality of spaced apart holes whereby a securing device can be punched therethrough in order to secure the one or more L-shaped flanges to one or more edges of the box spring. A bed skirt decking having a top side and an underside is further provided, wherein a corresponding upper adhesive material is provided on the underside of the bed skirt decking. The corresponding upper adhesive material is aligned with the lower adhesive material located on the top member so that when they are secured to one another, the bed skirt is secured to the box spring and oriented to achieve its functional and aesthetic goals.

Abstract: A method for reducing a cushion footprint for long-term storage may include inserting a foam core into a plastic cover, subsequently applying a vacuum to the plastic cover, and, while under the vacuum effect, sealing the plastic cover, and its contents. A device providing the vacuum effect may include a surface having protruding sections connected to non-protruding sections via tapered sections. A cushion may include an at least 20 density high resiliency foam core, and a fabric cover that includes (a) a combination of polyester and spandex and/or lycra, (b) nylon to which a thin water resistant material coating is applied, and/or (c) polyester fabric including raised anti-slip polyvinyl chloride dots, other portions of the polyester fabric at which the dots are not positioned having applied thereto a polyvinyl chloride coating. The device may compress the foam core while housed in a fabric cover, housed in the plastic cover.

Abstract: Panel assemblies designed and configured to be installed into cushioned and other occupant-supporting furniture to increase the support provided to one or more occupants of the furniture. Each panel assembly is composed of interconnecting components, such as panels and slats. The components are interconnected in any one or more of a variety of manners, including side-to-side, overlapped, and stacked, and combinations thereof. Each panel assembly can be made from one or more kits of components that can be provided along with instructions, such as assembly instructions and installation instructions.

Abstract: A bumper pad includes a base attached to a material that extends over the rail and couples as a crib teething rail cover. The bumper pad includes a base, mesh sides, and a teething rail cover. In some embodiments, the sides are separable from the base. In some embodiments, the teething rail cover is separable from the mesh sides. In still other embodiments, the sides are separable from the base and the teething rail cover is separable from the sides. A rail cover includes a rail cover base and at least one pair of fastener straps extending from one side of the rail cover base. The rail cover may also include tie straps and corresponding slits, fastener pads, or loops on the rail cover base. Methods of assembly of the bumper pad and rail cover are also disclosed.
