Abstract: A protective glove includes an inner liner having a soft pliable material configured to cover a front side and a back side of a user's hand. A protective layer is attached to an exterior surface of the inner liner and disposed over at least the front side of the user's hand. The protective layer includes a wire mesh panel that is configured to protect the user's hand from cuts, abrasions, and punctures and that has an edge portion with a plurality of wire ends. An edge protector is disposed over the edge portion of the wire mesh panel and substantially conceals the wire ends to prevent the edge portion from fraying and the plurality of wire ends from piercing the inner liner. An outer layer is attached to the exterior surface of the inner liner and is disposed over the protective layer.

Abstract: The present invention describes a new and improved infant's bib, wherein the bib comprises an outer bib surface, attachment straps, and a table edge attachment means configured for securing the lower portion of the bib to a highchair table edge. When attached to the highchair table, the outer bib surface forms a U-shaped catch that prevents crumbs from falling to the ground or onto the child-wearer's lap. The device significantly reduces the amount of food that falls onto the child's highchair and onto the floor, and minimizes the hassle associated with extensive clean-up jobs. The bib also provides extra opportunities for an infant to eat more of their food that has fallen onto the bib, and promotes better motor skills by keeping their food within reach. Alternatively, the device comprises a crumb catching pocket positioned on the outer bib surface with its own table edge attachment means.

The tubular undergarment may be rearranged to expose a different portion, and thereby expose a different graphic. The graphic may include at least one of a color, design, and pattern.

Abstract: Hospital gowns and methods of making hospital gowns are provided. For example, a hospital gown is provided that includes a front panel comprising an exterior surface and an opposite interior surface and a back panel comprising an exterior surface and an opposite interior surface. The front panel can be releasably securable to the back panel at different locations to create a gown with the interior surface of the front panel facing the interior surface of the back panel to form a releasable right shoulder portion, a releasable left shoulder portion, a releasable right side portion and releasable left side portion of the gown.

Abstract: A latex glove article with a fibrous coating bonded to the skin-contacting surface. Long length soft moisture absorbing fibers are attached to latex layer of a glove with a thin layer of polymeric latex adhesive forming a fibrous lining. The long length fibers have a length ranging from 4 to 100 times the thickness of the polymeric latex adhesive layer and therefore extend or project from the polymeric latex adhesive coating. The fibers penetrate the polymeric latex adhesive layer at one end or both end of the fiber to a depth of about 60% to about 100% of the adhesive thickness, leaving a substantial portion of the fiber available for soft contact with skin and sweat absorption. Due to the substantial thickness of the fibrous lining, an air gap is created between skin and the impervious latex layer establishing continual evaporation of absorbed sweat and evaporative cooling.

Abstract: A tubular absorbent fistband, having a stretchy absorbent cloth which connects to an elastic mesh band body. The absorbent cloth can be repeatedly compressed by closing the hand of the wearer without losing shape, dispensing accumulated moisture wiped off wearer. The band is referred to as a fistband because it is engaged in a fist. The fistband is constructed with a peripheral pocket in which fingertips are received. The mesh body covers the users' knuckles while the absorbent cloth covers the user's palm. Wiping the absorbent cloth across a sweat laden body part, such as a forehead, will absorb the sweat. Squeezing the absorbent cloth in a fist releases the absorbed sweat.

Abstract: Headgear as provided herein includes a light source for providing light away therefrom, a rechargeable battery for providing power to the light source, and a solar panel for recharging the rechargeable battery mounted thereto. The headgear can include a housing configured to at least partially receive the light source, the solar panel, and the rechargeable battery therein. The housing is configured to mount to the hat and orient the electronic components in desired configurations.

Abstract: A therapeutic medical garment having a variable pressure profile along its length, and including a knitted tubular body and a knitted anti-slip portion formed proximate one end of the tubular body with an inner surface adapted for residing against a wearer's skin. The knitted anti-slip portion includes at least first, second and third yarns simultaneously knitted to form a repeat having a raised surface texture on the inner surface of the anti-slip portion. One of the first, second and third yarns is a low-friction yarn, and two of the first, second and third yarns are high-friction yarns knitted to reside on and form the raised surface texture on the inner face of the anti-slip portion. A fabric construction and a method of forming a fabric construction are also disclosed.

Abstract: The present invention is a protective helmet having multiple zones of protection suitable for use in construction work, athletic endeavors, and similar activities. The helmet includes a hard outer protective that is suspended over a hard anchor zone by elastic cords extending between an elastomeric zone between the outer and inner zones. Fluid filed bladders are positioned in the elastomeric zone and bulge through one or more of a plurality of apertures located in the outer zone. In one embodiment, an additional crumple zone is present. The structure enables the helmet to divert linear and rotational forces away from the user's braincase.

Abstract: Unit composed of helmet and goggles, comprising a helmet cap and an eye protection element that is configured so as to be placed in front of the wearer's face. The upper edge of the eye protection element is adapted to the profile of the lower front edge of the helmet cap. A magnetic device is arranged on the two edges and has a first series of permanent magnets which are rigidly connected to one of the two edges and interact, by magnetic attraction, with complementary elements that are provided on the opposite edge. This front magnetic connection area between the two edges furthermore comprises tilt orientation means of the goggles for adjusting the contact with the face.

Abstract: A wearable impact reduction device and method are disclosed. The wearable device and method comprise three layers, the middle layer of which comprises a resilient element that displaces as a result of an impact. The device and method also comprise the use of a motion sensor and a physiologic biosensor. In at least one embodiment, one of the layers of the device can be responsive to one of the sensors. In at least one embodiment, the motion sensor can comprise an accelerometer, a gyroscope, a magnetometer, an acoustic sensor, an infrared sensor, or a GPS (global positioning system) receiver and the motion sensor can be responsive to acceleration, position, or velocity.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a garment (10) for motorcyclists which comprises a pair of trousers (20), having a belt portion (30), at least one adjusting insert (70) and at least one protective element (40) which is removably applied to the knee portion of the garment (10). Said at least one protective element (40) is removably housed in a pocket (50) arranged in the garment (10). The garment (10) is also provided at the bottom portion of said pair of trousers (20) with fixing means (60) suitable for defining a plurality of height positions h1, h2 with reference to the belt portion (30) of the garment (10). According to the invention, said at least one adjusting insert (70) is suitable for being removably fixed to the fixing means (60) in order to adjust the length L, L+?L1, L+?L2 of the trousers (20).

Abstract: Nonwoven safety garments are described. Features of the stitching of some embodiments limit the number of particulates emitted from seams between cut edges. Attachments features may be included on the garments to enable secure, external attachment of measuring equipment. Doffing features, such as loops, are provided to help the wearer safely remove the garment, either by helping her pull off part or all of the garment or by starting to separate closure devices. In some embodiments, a repositionable closure on a neck flap covers the neck up to the bottom of a face mask or respirator, and a grasping tab helps the wearer safely open the repositionable closure and the neck flap.

A pair of linear regions of the pad component may be secured to the garment, and a region of the pad component between the linear regions may be unsecured to the component. The pair of linear regions may be positioned at spaced and separate edge areas of the pad component. A central area of the pad component may be at least partially spaced from the garment component when the garment component is substantially unstretched.

Abstract: This invention relates to support garments and personal protective gear and, more particularly, to supportive waistbands providing an adjustable belt capable of both orthopedic support and essential body armor. The invention is capable of being worn with bullet proof or protective vests without interfering with comfort or the utility of the vest. A myriad of different schemes for design, use, and placement of body armor and protective elements are disclosed.

Abstract: The invention is directed to a cervical spine protection apparatus one or more composite bands attached to provide restraint of one or more motions of the cervical spine of a wearer. The apparatus is designed to protect a wearer from incurring cervical spinal injuries, and/or to reduce the severity of cervical spine injuries without substantially compromising the normal functional range of motion of the wearer's cervical spine.

Abstract: A stopper assembly for a drain system of a fluid basin is provided. The stopper head assembly includes a stopper head having a seal to sealingly engage the drain system of the fluid basin when the stopper assembly is moved from a drain position to a plug position and a strainer to strain fluid passing through the drain system when the stopper head is in a drain position. The stopper head assembly further includes a stopper body operably coupleable to a control element to move the assembly between the drain position and the plug position. The stopper body may be detachably coupled to the stopper head and/or the strainer to enable selective removal of the stopper head and the strainer from the stopper body when the stopper body is installed for use and coupled to the control element. Related methods, systems and components are also provided.

Abstract: A modular swimming pool is constructed of one or more floor sections and a plurality of wall sections, with water-tight seams between the sections. Grooves formed in the sides of each section mate with corresponding grooves on adjacent sections and thereby form hollow channels that hold elastomeric seals. A plurality of fasteners applies compressive force to the seals, which results in formation of a water-tight seam. A skirt, also provided in sections is attached to the wall sections and forms a structural and decorative part of the pool.

Abstract: A bathing vessel has a bottom, and a drain disposed in the bottom adjacent a blended area that is disposed between the side wall and the bottom. The side wall, the bottom wall, and the blended area are made of a first layer of rigid polyurethane material and a second layer of capping material attached to said first layer. A ratio of a density of the polyurethane backing adjacent the drain to a thickness of polyurethane backing is between 1-80:1. The side wall, the blended area and the bottom wall flex to absorb loads adjacent the drain.

The infant sleep pod provides a firm, flat, separate, portable, and dedicated sleep space for an infant. The infant sleep pod includes a base with a bed and sidewall, and a bridge extending across the bed. The bridge covers a head portion of the bed, while a foot portion of the bed is left open for inserting and removing the infant. The bridge prevents pillows and blankets from covering the bed and infant. The infant sleep pod also includes electronics for monitoring the sleep pod. The electronics include a sensor unit in the bridge and a control unit in communication with the sensor unit. The control unit and sensor unit are operable to detect unsafe conditions and, in response, generate alerts.

When evacuated of air, the positioner is configured to hold the patient in an inclined position on an inclined support surface with the patient's head above the patient's hips such that the intermediate and/or suprapubic portions physically block the patient from sliding feet-first down the inclined support surface.
