Abstract: An apparatus for securing the legs of livestock animals includes a frame also which defines an entrance and an exit and which presents sidewalls which extend between the entrance and the exit thereby presenting a chute suitable for the ingress and egress of a livestock animal. Near the floor of the chute and between the entrance and the exit are leg bars which are able to move between a retracted position suitable for allowing the lower legs of a livestock animal to move freely between the leg bars and the sidewalls and an extended position in which the leg bars are closer to the sidewalls so that the lower legs of a livestock animal are held securely between the leg bars and sidewalls. The apparatus can be used to secure the lower legs of a livestock animal and thereby immobilize the animal.

The incubation tray includes a tester unit including plurality of inspection modules in the enclosure associated with the plurality of egg placements. The inspection modules, each includes radiation emitter(s) and sensor(s), and are configured and operable for respectively inspecting the plurality of eggs located in the egg placements, by irradiating the eggs with radiation from a lateral side of the eggs and measuring a radiation response coming in response to the irradiation from a lateral side of the eggs, giving rise to measured data indicative of conditions of the eggs. The measured data may be processed to determine dynamic and static parameters of the radiation response from which a physiological development stage, and growth of the embryos within the eggs can be estimated.

Abstract: A structure for attracting and accumulating aquatic organisms that is a simple, inexpensive, non-degradable unit, easy to assemble and use, as well as easy to retrieve and move for use in a different location, formed of a central 4? PVC pipe having cut outs through which are inserted bar slats made of solid, generally rigid, 100% PVC material. The bar installation is a compressed fit into the cut-out sections of pipe, forming a compress fit, self-expanding, spring-lock design. Holes may be drilled in each end of the central pipe so that a hook may be inserted in one end, allowing the habitat structure to be hung from a dock or tethered to another stationary object, or retrieved with a boat hook for ease in removal and relocation. Alternatively, the use of coupling connections permits joining one habitat structure to another in order to form a larger habitat structure.

Abstract: A protective device for animal breeding, such as the breeding of fish, mussels or molluscs, includes at least an inner cage that can be positioned in a body of water and which is formed from a net. This cage is dimensioned here with a mesh width such that the animals to be bred are retained within the net. It is preferably totally surrounded by at least one outer cage spaced apart from the latter and which is produced from a net made of thin wires and/or strands. The mesh width of the outer cage is greater than that of the inner cage, and it is thus guaranteed that predators cannot damage the net of the inner cage from the outside.
