  • Patent number: 10645859
Abstract: The present disclosure refers to an agricultural system having a tractor and an implement and a method of operating. A driveline is provided between a driving device (11.3) of a tractor (1) and a first functional element (12.3) of an implement (2), the driveline comprising a tractor driveline (14) and an implement driveline (17) connected through a power take-off connection (13). A driving force is provided to the first functional element (12.3) of the implement (2) through the driveline in a first mode of operation, thereby, a working tool (18) rotating in a first direction in response to the driving force. An operation problem is detected for the first functional element (12.3) by a sensor (19) provided in a tractor-implement control system. Reverse control signals are generated in a tractor controller (4) provided in the tractor-implement control system in response to the detecting of the operation problem for the first functional element (12.3).

  • Patent number: 7493854
Abstract: The present disclosure concerns a jam detection and safety system for machines prone to jamming, such as a baler. In particular embodiments, the system is implemented in a horizontal baler having a shear bar and a hydraulic ram that advances material being baled past the shear bar into a compression chamber. The system includes a strain gage mounted on the shear bar and a controller that is electrically connected to the strain gage. The controller receives strain signals from the stage gage and compares the strain of the shear bar to a predetermined strain threshold corresponding to a jamming condition. If the strain exceeds the predetermined threshold, the controller automatically deactivates the ram, such as by disconnecting line power from the baler and/or by turning off the control power of the baler.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a safety apparatus for a machine such as a press brake. The machine has a first and a second machine part which perform a working movement towards each other. The first machine part has a leading edge in the direction of movement, and the leading edge defines a plane of movement. The safety apparatus has a plurality of first light barriers which run with the first machine part during the working movement, with the light beams of the first light barriers extending parallel to the plane of movement and being distributed in the region of the plane of movement in such a way that they run in advance of the leading edge with an increasing distance as viewed in the direction of the working movement. Furthermore, there is a control unit which stops the working movement in response to the first light barriers. There is also a configuration device, by means of which selected ones from the first light barriers can be deactivated at least for the duration of the working movement.

Abstract: A manually operable press comprises a manually pivotable actuating lever for effecting a forward press stroke and a return stroke of a press slide. A mechanical return stroke interlock inhibits a return movement of the press before the press slide has come to a lower end position of the press stroke. A cam plate within said return stroke interlock is connected for being pivoted together with the actuating lever. The cam plate has a groove-shaped guide cam provided with a plurality of lock protrusions. A spring-biased lock pin runs along the guide cam and is adapted to run freely along the guide ram in an operational direction but is inhibited by the lock protrusions within the guide cam from running in a direction opposite the operational direction. An opening each is provided in the guide cam at the lock protrusions. Unlocking pins are provided in each of the openings.

Abstract: A punch and press system includes a low voltage safety circuit and a high voltage control circuit. The high voltage control circuit is further divided into a high voltage low current region and a high voltage high current region. The high voltage low current region is isolated from both the low voltage safety circuit and the high voltage high current region of the control circuit. As the upper tool of the press strikes an object, the object's conductivity will govern whether the press will continue to act on the object. Thus, if the object is conductive, then the upper tool will continue to act on the object. If the object is not conductive, then the upper tool will raise to a neutral position.
