  • Publication number: 20040187712
Abstract: Machine for front joining and sticking of oblong wood workpieces by toothed front joints and referential procedure consists of the flow press and entrance conveying line, and solves the problem of simple and quality front joining and sticking of workpieces, which travel through them fast and fluently in a consecutive row, irrespective of possible yet allowed curvature and dimensional deviation. This is enabled by the construction of entrance conveyors and exit conveyors of the conveying line, equipped with mechanisms for adjustment of side chain units, and with elastic couplings, whereby inside the side chain units the elastic insertions are placed, and inside pressing conveyors other elastic insertions are placed. Joints among individual entrance conveyors, among individual exit conveyors, and among conveyors are likewise elastic constructions by means of adjustable screws placed between fixed cantilevers, and between tension cantilevers.

Abstract: Catering in a transport vehicle like an aircraft involves collecting mixed waste including solids (e.g. left-over food portions, food wastes, napkins, disposable cutlery) and liquids (e.g. beverage rests), without separation. These wastes are disposed of into an apparatus including a receiving container with a filter and separating element at the bottom, a waste shaft leading into the container, a press arrangement with flap doors, pressure pistons which press the press arrangement and flap doors onto the waste in the container to compact the waste, and a drain and coupling system at the bottom of the container. As the waste is compacted, liquids drain down through the filter, oils and fats are removed by the separating element, and non-oily liquids are removed through the coupling system to the vacuum disposal system or the gray water drain line of the vehicle. A control unit controls the overall operation.

  • Patent number: 6363845
Abstract: According to a method of transferring a sheet through a working apparatus, a first sheet is moved by feed rolls partially into a working area of the working apparatus, which is followed by moving a second sheet by the same feed rolls to allow the leading end of the second sheet to be brought into abutment with the trailing end of its preceding first sheet and then to push the first sheet to a predetermined position within the working area. After the first sheet is thus placed and the second sheet is moved back out of the working area, the apparatus is operated to work the first sheet, for example, by pressing. The second sheet is moved forward into abutment with the trailing end of the worked first sheet and moved further while pushing the first sheet toward delivery rolls of the apparatus, which then removes the first sheet out of the working area of the apparatus. Such steps of operation is repeated to transfer a series of sheets successively through the working apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20010013279
Abstract: An apparatus for performing a global planarization of a surface of a deformable layer of a wafer on a production scale. The apparatus includes a chamber having a pressing surface and containing a rigid plate and a flexible pressing member or “puck” disposed between the rigid plate and the pressing surface. A wafer having a deformable outermost layer is placed on the flexible pressing member so the deformable layer of the wafer is directly opposite and substantially parallel to the pressing surface. Force is applied to the rigid plate which propagates through the flexible pressing member to press the deformable layer of the wafer against the pressing surface. Preferably, a bellows arrangement is used to ensure a uniformly applied force to the rigid plate. The flexible puck serves to provide a self adjusting mode of uniformly distributing the applied force to the wafer, ensuring the formation of a high quality planar surface.

  • Patent number: 4961862
Abstract: A twin belt filter press system has an amendment such as sawdust, fed to a sludge or slurry being dewatered after the sludge/slurry has been initially dewatered in a gravity drain section to form a cake on a first porous belt. The amendment cascades into the partially dewatered cake off the first belt, allowing mixing of the cake and amendment in an essentially belt-wide drop zone so that the amendment partially and quickly desorbs the cake before the cake and amendment mixture progresses into a nip formed by the first belt and a porous second belt. The mixture subsequently is carried in a position between the belts for pressing to remove moisture from both the cake and amendment. In one embodiment a shear-minimizing mixer is arranged in the amendment drop zone to additionally mix the amendment with the cake.

Abstract: A mobile installation for the treatment of household refuse comprises an elongated vehicle having a centrally located water tank into which the refuse is dumped. Heavier components which settle to the bottom of the tank are transported by an endless conveyor from one end of the tank to a magnetic separator which removes magnetic metal. Other heavy components drop into a crusher and the crushed material is mixed with additives such as cement or coal dust and compressed in a press. Lighter components are removed from the opposite end of the tank by an upwardly inclined screw conveyor which squeezes out much of the water. The lighter components are then mixed with additives such as cement and compressed by an extruder press.
