Abstract: A liquid phase composition for topical application to wood or other articles serves as a sealant and protective finish. The composition comprises paraffin wax dispersed in mineral oil and an extender, preferably, wood alcohol or ethanol, and optionally, relatively small amounts of additives including colorants, fragrance components, UV light absorbers, and so on. Thickeners and a solubilizing agent such as a volatile, low viscosity silicone may be added to produce a creamy form. The liquid composition is topically applied to wood or other articles by means of a fine wiping cloth or a fine bristle brush. Little or no buffing is required. Once applied, the composition imparts a non-greasy, rich luster to the surface of an article (e.g. wood furniture).

Abstract: A table with a movable working surface is supported on a table frame with legs. A running rail arrangement is provided on the table frame and cooperates in a form fitting relationship with a pair of edge rails extending from the working surface. The running rail arrangement is divided into two running rail elements. A first running rail element is rigidly fixed to the table frame. A second running rail element is rotatably mounted to the table frame at a location adjacent to the first running rail element. The first running rail element has a sloped bearing surface on which the second running rail element is supported when the working surface is in a horizontal position. Each edge rail includes a holding and sliding element for supporting the second rail running element. During usage of the work surface, the holding and sliding element is located either under the first running rail element or is supported on the sloped bearing surface of the first running rail element.

  • Patent number: 5086710
Abstract: The invention relates to a table with a table frame and a tabletop, which is settable in both height and inclination by a control device. Varying the height and inclination of the tabletop with a simple control device and a support frame is accomplished by providing that the control device has two support devices. The two support devices are pivotally attached to the support frame in the upper region of the middle cross member of the support frame about transversely extending pivot shafts. The support devices on the underside of the tabletop are supported on the tabletop about transversely extending pivot shafts, but are guided adjustably within the depth of the tabletop. The control device selectively raises the support devices individually or in common upward in the direction of the tabletop or lowers them individually or in common downward in the direction of the support frame, in the course of which platform-shaped pivot shafts of the support devices move toward or away from one another.

Abstract: A flat bed vehicle such as a tilt bed car carrier vehicle has side rails which may be positionable either in a raised position disposed above the bed platform and a lowered stowed position wherein the tops of the rails are disposed coextensive with the platform. The caps or tops of the rails are supported on posts and the ends of posts remote from the caps have cam followers which are positioned within respective cam tracks extending transversely beneath the bed floor. The cam tracks are configured so that the followers may be moved between first and second ends of the cam tracks selectively. At one end of each track the follower is located such that the respective post may be either in the upstanding operative position at the side of the bed, and at the other end of the track the follower is located such that the post is in the stowed position extending transversely beneath the floor of the bed with the cap of the rail positioned on a shelf of a longitudinally extending bracket at the edge of the side.

Abstract: A housing adapted to be mounted beneath the top of a table and a shelf sized to fit substantially within the housing are operatively connected by a pair of telescoping rails which guide movement of the shelf between a retracted position in which the shelf is substantially within the housing and an extended position in which the shelf has a substantial portion thereof outside the housing. The rails pivot about an axis to change the height of the shelf with respect to the top of the table and the entire assembly includes a mechanism for securing the shelf in the extended position. The housing includes a vertically stepped slot in which a pin secured to the rails is movable to hold the shelf at predetermined heights with respect to the top of the table corresponding to the steps of the vertically stepped slot.

  • Patent number: 4717112
Abstract: A workstation for computer-aided design comprises an L-shaped main support frame having a monitor support panel which is both tiltable and slidable fore and aft. Connected between the horizontal elements of the L-shaped support frame is a secondary support frame carrying a digitizer support and a keyboard support. The keyboard support is forward and below the level of the digitizer support. The digitizer support is slidable fore and aft on the secondary frame, and the secondary frame itself is slidable fore and aft, and forwardly tiltable, relative to the main support frame. The main support frame rests on nylon feet, which are slidable on a table top. A centrally located foam pad is connected to the main support frame through a swivel mechanism, and is in compression and in frictional engagement with the table top, so that the workstation can be swivelled about a vertical axis, but translational movement is prevented.
