Abstract: A pet collar has an adjustable length strap and a buckle. The buckle has a receiver and a clip releasably coupled to the receiver. The receiver includes a catch portion coupleable to the clip and a tension indicator portion. The tension indicator portion has two side walls defining a shuttle channel. Each side wall has a top surface having a first mark, a second mark, a third mark, and a fourth mark which have color coding. The shuttle channel is configured to slidably receive a reciprocating tensioning shuttle therein. The tensioning shuttle includes two side wall and a compression spring. Each side wall also includes a top flange overlaying the receiver side walls that includes a first viewing window and a second viewing window. The viewing windows alignment with the underlying marks indicated the tension of the collar upon the pet.

Abstract: An animal leash is typically connected to a collar worn around the neck of an animal, where for untrained animals who instinctively wish to roam away from its handler, this leads to the animal pulling the leash taut. However, many animals have an opposition reflex that makes them instinctively move toward the part of their bodies on which they feel pressure. This leads to the animal pulling harder on the leash as the pressure of the leash is at its neck. Accordingly, it would be beneficial to provide a harness that applies pressure to the opposite side of the animal with respect to the direction it is seeking to wander away from a user holding a leash. Such a leash would apply pressure triggering the opposition reflex bringing the animal back into line.

Abstract: There is provided a restraining device with a safety attachment for walking a dog, the device having a harness and an extension pole, wherein the pole is rigid and is attached to said harness at its proximal end, and is attachable to a leash on its distal end. The rigid extension pole extends substantially vertically above the dog and keeps the leash away from the dog's body, thereby preventing the leash from becoming entangled with the dog's legs.

First and second portions of the buckle are attached to respective first and second ends of the collar strip. The first portion of the buckle and the second portion of the buckle are configured to be removably attached to each other in a configuration of the body collar being fitted around the body of the animal. The first portion of the buckle to be inserted through a second ring of a neck collar and fit around the body of the animal through a third ring of the neck collar to be removably attached to the second portion of the buckle.

Anchored within the connector's frame, the knob is disposed contiguous with a narrow slot formed therein through which all of the belt, except the knob, is initially threaded. With the collar adjusted to provide a snug fit, one can then activate a closure mechanism, in which the foot of an arm pivotally connected to the frame clamps a short portion of the belt, across its entire transverse width, against the frame. The chain links each have a hook portion and a hook-in portion. The hook-in portion includes a window dimensioned such that the hook portion fits through the window. The hook-in portion further has an edge portion located between the window and a rear end of the chain link. The sheet-metal blank includes a first end portion and an opposite second end portion, and the second end portion limits the edge portion.

The tongue is arranged to pass through a slider having a gripping means configurable between an open configuration, wherein the first tongue is free to slide through the first slider and a closed configuration, wherein the first tongue is held locked against the first slider when the first slider is urged in a slackening direction from the proximal towards the distal end of the first tongue, whereby the slider is arranged to be fixable against slackening at any of a plurality of positions along the first tongue. The stop is arranged to prevent the tongue from disengaging from the slider when the first slider is urged in the slackening direction.

The strap includes a first ply of rubber, preferably recycled from an inner tube. The second ply is mechanically stitched using an interwoven thread to the first ply. A plastic quick-release coupling device acts as a clasp system for selectively and releasably coupling a strap first end to a strap second end. The combination D-ring and bottle opener comprises a generally flat frame body having a first arm and a second arm, a first linking member connecting the first and second arms at a first end of the frame body and a second linking member at a second end of the frame body. An intermediate linking member arranged generally parallel to the first and second linking members and being located at an intermediate position includes a radius bottle pry and offset grooves.

Abstract: A dog harness is comprised of a torso strap encircling a dog's chest, connected to a chest strap passing around the chest of a dog, and a shoulder strap passing over the back of a dog. The chest strap is provided with a elongate linker. A leash connector is fixed to both ends of the elongate linker. When a leash is attached to either leash connector, a directional pull on the leash causes the leash connector to slide in the direction of the pull, pulling the elongate linker to the side creating a noise detectable by the animal to assist in the training of the animal. If the leash becomes tight pulling the elongate linker all the way to the side it will move the pull off the center of the dog's chest, thus decreasing the opposition reflex.

Abstract: A therapy animal garment for teaching and assisting fine motor skills is disclosed. The therapy animal garment may include a number of segments that are joined together using various different fasteners. One or more of the segments may be configured to attach to a therapy animal. In some instances, various segments of a therapy animal garment may be attached to each other using a variety of fasteners. A therapy animal garment may be provided to a therapy patient to allow the patient to improve motor skills through the repetition. The patient may practice fastening and unfastening various fasteners of a therapy animal garment to dress or undress a therapy animal.

Abstract: A cover for protecting a surgical site wound on an animal includes a rectangular main body, a hole through the main body, and a strap. The body includes a first end and a second end including a tab joinable to the first end under the animal's neck. The main body includes a fabric on a first side and the fabric on a second side opposite the first side. The hole is designed to allow an esophagostomy tube to pass through the main body and to inhibit tearing of the rectangular main body by including stitching around the aperture. The strap is coupled to the first side of the main body. The strap is between the first end and the second end. The strap extends substantially across a short side of the rectangular main body. The strap is configured to secure the esophagostomy tubes against the cover.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a pet collar breakaway buckle device configured to be worn around the neck of a pet. Certain pets may have a natural instinct to wander, climb, and/or squeeze in to small places. Pets that squeeze into small places may catch their collars such that the pet becomes stuck. The pet collar breakaway buckle device described herein may be configured to break away under the bodyweight of the pet, reducing the risk of strangling and/or other unintended injury to the pet. A pet owner and/or other person may apply a compressive load to the buckle device to attach the collar around the neck of a pet and a tensile load to remove the device from the neck of a pet. In some implementations, the pet collar breakaway buckle device may comprise a strap, a first interlocking clasp, a second interlocking clasp, and/or other components.

An anchor ring 4 is secured to the band member 1 for engagement by a hook member 6 carried on a lead 8, and a hook member 5 is secured to the band member 1 in spaced apart relation to the anchor ring 4, the hook member 5 being securable to an anchor ring 7 carried on the lead 8 so as to securely connect the collar 1 to the lead 8.

Abstract: A convertible animal harness which includes a collar and an easily attachable, removable harness. The convertible animal harness allows the animal owner to normally leave the collar on the animal with all of the animal's ID and license tags, while quickly and easily attaching the harness to control or walk the animal. The harness can then be detached when the animal owner is not walking the animal. The detachable collar closes with a buckle, and a leash may be attached. The collar can be used independently from the harness section, but the harness section cannot be used without the collar. The convertible harness attaches to the collar using a snap closure, and the harness ends are connected using Velcro. A D-ring at the back end of the harness also allows a leash to be attached.

A chest strap passes from the neck under the chest and back, to connect with a pair of adjustable length side straps. These side straps pass up from the chest strap to a belly region that may optionally include a belly strap. The side straps are formed into folds, at approximately 45 degree angles, to continue as adjustable length back straps to the adjustable length neck straps. A sliding position ring couples a lead or leash to the side/back strap folds. Buckles are provided in the side straps, and in the optional belly strap, to permit rapid placement and removal of the harness. Through appropriate adjustment of the side and back straps, the harness will alternatively be adapted to function as a pulling, walking, or vehicle harness and for other diverse applications.

The openings (18) are also aligned so that a leash or the like may be connected to the buckle (10).

By operating the fastening device, the two ends of the belt can be selectively connected to each other for the belt to form a loop structure enclosing a receiving space therein, through which a pet's neck can extend. The adjusting member is slidably connected to the belt near an end thereof for adjusting a diameter of the loop structure as necessary. The magnetic unit may include an engaging member axially engaged with one side of the belt in contact with the pet's neck, and a plurality of magnets sandwiched between the belt and the engaging member. With the magnets mounted on the belt, the pet collar can help the pet to improve blood circulation, reduce the possibility of cancer and relieve pains.

Abstract: A collar has an elongated strap attached to a buckle for releasably connecting the collar to a pet animal or human. A tubular plastic body with phosphorescent material located within the body is located around the strap. The phosphorescent material when subjected to natural or artificial light emits light in dark environments. A modification of the collar has a strip of light reflective material attached to a plastic body with phosphorescent material incorporated therein. The light reflective material has a prismatic shaped surface for reflecting light and radiating luminescent light emitted by the phosphorescent material. A buckle and loop are concurrently joined to the plastic body during the molding process of the plastic body.

Abstract: This invention serves as a restraining and controlling device for animals. The invention allows quick mounting and fitting by using an adjustable neck strap with sliding buckle. The invention provides an optional hood for masking the animal's vision. The hood can prevent an animal from running and limit the animal's ability to bite. The invention can be further secured in place by the use of optional straps which wrap around the animal's chest, preventing the invention from moving up and/or forward. The invention provides a handle directly behind the animal's neck. This handle location allows the user to position the animal without the animal being in range to bite the user. With the hood deployed the invention allows for unobstructed access to the rear of the animal's head, and with the hood folded (not deployed) the user may also access the front of the animal's head.

Abstract: An animal restraint system including a body harness and a removable control strap assembly. The control strap assembly may include no-pull or no jump/run modules. The body harness includes three adjustable straps that fit over the animal's back, in front of the chest, and underneath and behind the front legs, and two leg straps that encircle the animal's front legs. The no-pull module includes a strap for connecting a leash to the front leg straps. Pulling force is transferred to the animal's front legs, thereby reducing its ability to pull. The no-jump/run module includes hind leg straps that encircle the animal's hind legs and are connected to the corresponding front leg straps by connecting straps. A rear back strap extends across the back of the animal. The design works by limiting the range of motion of the front legs relative to the hind legs to inhibit jumping and running.

The cover includes high-positioned ledges that cause a cam latch to release a clasp from the buckle only when the cover has traveled at least about 80-degress from horizontal. The cover hingeably mounts to a frame by means of a pin. The latch is supported by the pin.
