  • Publication number: 20100279239
Abstract: A boiler structure capable of efficiently alleviating or preventing corrosion and slagging on furnace walls in a furnace is provided. A circulating firing boiler structure is configured so that fuel and combustion air supplied into a furnace (11) from burners (12) disposed at a plurality of positions on furnace walls (11a) forming a rectangular cross section are combusted so as to form a swirling flow. Air-supplying parts (20) are disposed near flame-affected portions of furnace wall surfaces, where flames formed by the respective burners (12) approach or contact, to form regions having a higher air concentration than the peripheries thereof.

  • Patent number: 7484478
Abstract: Two improvements for heaters are disclosed which can be implemented as either apparatus or method. First is a novel flue gas injection system. Second is a novel burner configuration. The improvements can be used alone or together. In the flue gas injection system, flue gas is injected between the burners and the tubes to reduce heat flux on the tubes and shift part of the heat duty from the radiant to the convective section. These approaches work toward increasing the capacity of heaters where we can increase the firing rate in the heater and still keep the tube metal temperature and radiant fluxes within acceptable limits.

  • Patent number: 7392751
Abstract: A port rodder assembly for a recovery boiler includes a duct affixed to and in fluid communication with an air port of the boiler, having a hollow interior, and an air inlet opening. A cutting head is slidably mounted within the duct adjacent to the air port and is adapted to clean the air port. An actuator selectively advances the cutting head though the air port to clean the air port. A wing is pivotally mounted within the duct. The wing interacts with the air inlet opening to control the flow of air through the duct and into the air port and is shaped such that incoming air flows smoothly through the duct to the air port.

  • Patent number: 6606969
Abstract: A thermal processing plant having heating tubes that are arranged in a zigzag or undulating line in an oven chamber. Burners generate a gas stream which is directed against a wall of the oven opposite the wall in which the burners are positioned. The burners direct a gas stream at each of the wave or zigzag crests and in each of the wave or zigzag troughs. The thermal radiation of the oven wall and of the reaction zone (combustion heat) heats the heating tubes uniformly.

Abstract: The fossil fuel fired continuous-flow steam generator has a gas turbine combustion chamber for fossil combustibles. On the heating gas side a vertical gas extractor is mounted downstream of a horizontal gas extractor. The walls surrounding the combustion chamber are composed of vertical evaporator tubes that are welded together. During operation the temperature differences between adjacent evaporator tubes of the combustion chamber are kept as low as possible. The burners are arranged at the level of the horizontal gas extractor.
