Glue Pots Patents (Class 126/284)
  • Patent number: 9662618
Abstract: A method and apparatus for dispensing a solution of a solid product in a fluid. A freestanding apparatus comprises an inlet portion through which fluid enters, a reaction portion in which the fluid encounters and dissolves the product to form a solution, and an outlet portion from which the solution exits the apparatus. Fluid may encounter the product from a single direction or multiple directions, and from the top or the bottom. The apparatus can include a fluid diverter for directing fluid to the desired portion of the solid product. The apparatus may be configured to receive a particularly shaped solid product, and may comprise a lid or gate to prevent fluid from contacting the product undesirably.

  • Patent number: 6012447
Abstract: A heated kettle for melting and mixing a thermoplastic resin into a homogeneous mixture has a helically-formed agitator which rotates about a central shaft in close proximity to the internal wall of the kettle. Fixed to the shaft at approximately the center of the kettle is a cluster of radially extending paddles. The paddles and agitator have opposite pitch when the agitator and paddles are rotated, the resin circulates along the wall of the kettle and thence through a central region of the kettle. The circulation action serves to thoroughly melt and mix the resin into a homogeneous liquid mass.

  • Patent number: 5711289
Abstract: A bulk adhesive handling system (10) having a hopper (16) and a lid (26) includes a vapor removal system (12) comprising a plurality of vent holes (40) formed in the side wall (42) of the hopper (16) of the system. The vent holes (40) are in communication with a venting plenum (44) surrounding the hopper (16), which is connected to a vacuum source (46). The vapor removal system (12) is adapted to withdraw gas from the hopper (16) when the lid (26) is in an open position and to withdraw air from an ambient source when the lid (26) is in a closed position.

  • Patent number: 5133335
Abstract: A technique and equipment for grafting are disclosed. The technique involves forming a wedge on a scion, forming a cleft or side cut in rootstock, forming a union with the scion and rootstock, binding the union with budding strips, and coating the wrapped union with liquid paraffin wax. Clothespin type clamps are advantageously employed to releasably close the cleft, prior to forming the union, and for securing the union during binding. Grafting tools are provided in a grafting tool kit and include a knife, budding strips, paraffin wax, a brush, a metal cup, hand pruners, whet rocks and honing oil, alcohol and paper towels, and clothespins. The paraffin wax is applied to the bound union in a clear liquid state at 175.degree.-200.degree. F., and preferably at an ambient temperature of at least 38.degree. F. and less than 15 mph winds.

  • Patent number: 4395968
Abstract: The glue pot is attached to a glue applicator to supply a continuous flow of hot liquid glue to the applicator rolls of the glue applicator. The glue pot comprises an upright cylindrical glue container with an opening formed in the central portion of its bottom wall, and a water stack extending from said bottom wall opening upwardly through the glue container to form an annular glue reservoir. A water tank is positioned below the bottom wall of the glue container in open communication with the water stack, and water is supplied to the water tank and water stack. Heating means heats the water in the water tank and in the water stack, so that the glue in the glue reservoir is heated from inside out and from bottom up.
