Abstract: A device for analyzing and treating tonal imperfections on human skin. The device, or apparatus has an applicator comprising a head and one or more nozzles, preferably the nozzles are arranged in an array. The apparatus further has a reservoir comprising a skin treatment composition, a sensor, and a CPU. The sensor takes an image of at least 10 ?m2 of skin. The CPU analyzes the image to calculate a localized L value of individual pixels or group of pixels. The CPU then compares the local L value to a background L value to identify one or more skin deviations, and wherein the sensor is in wireless communication with the CPU, and wherein the CPU is adjacent the sensor or is remotely located. Further, the sensor may be enclosed within an apparatus handle and the CPU is either within the handle or external to the handle. In another embodiment of this invention, there are two or more CPUs and the sensor can be in wireless communication with none, one or more than one CPU.

The roller contacts a portion of skin at a contact location and subsequently a target location. The treatment composition component selectively deposits a composition on a roller surface at a deposition location that is on the roller surface a circumferential distance away from the contact location. The cutaneous measurement component generates one or more parameters associated with the target location on the portion of skin. The target location is a target distance from the contact location that is equal to or greater than the circumferential distance. Abstract: A hair curler comprising a cylindrical body having a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis and a removable rod extending through the body along the transverse axis thereof. The inventive curler enables a novel method of curling hair including the steps of curling the hair around the curler comprising a cylindrical body having a longitudinal axis and a transverse axis and a removable rod extending through the body along the transverse axis thereof and securing the curled hair to the head of a user by inserting a rod through the body of the curler along the longitudinal axis thereof. In the illustrative embodiment, the cylindrical body is perforated and has multiple protrusions. The cylindrical body has a variable diameter with tapered ends. The diameter of the body is smaller in the middle section thereof. The rod is beaded and has bends therein.

Abstract: A process for permanently reshaping keratin fibers is disclosed. The process may comprise a) placing the keratin fibers under mechanical tension by rolling keratin fibers on a tensioning device so as to form curls, b) applying a reducing composition to the keratin fibers, c) individually covering each tensioning device rolled with keratin fibers with a cover comprising at least one heat-insulating material, so as to form at least one closed space above the keratin fibers, d) heating the keratin fibers at a constant temperature, and e) entrapping heat and condensation from the heating of the keratin fibers within the closed space so as to maintain the closed space at a substantially uniform temperature throughout the closed space. The tensioning device and/or the cover may further include at least one heat source as part of the tensioning device and/or the cover.

The composition may also include fragrances and additional bacteriocides, e.g., phenoxyethanol. According to the invention, the device comprises a dispenser unit (13a; 13b; 13c) which is designed to discharge the at least one component of the application agent (10a; 10b; 10c) from an application agent container (14a; 14b; 14c) that is at least partially inserted into the depot volume (12a; 12b; 12c).

Abstract: A hair treatment accessory for use with a hair styling apparatus includes a substrate base for mounting to a hair styling apparatus and a treatment agent disposed on the substrate base. The treatment agent is applied to one of the hair or skin of a subject during use of the hair styling apparatus. The treatment agent may include a conditioning, strengthening, repairing or revitalizing fluid. The treatment agent may include a conditioning oil. The conditioning oil may include ARGAN oil with or without silicon. The substrate base may include an irregular surface dimensioned to assist in retention of the treatment agent on the substrate base. The irregular surface may include open cells or channels. The irregular surface may be formed through a sintering process.
