  • Patent number: 11313202
Abstract: A system, method, and tool for controlling fluid in a wellbore. The system comprises a tubing string locatable in the wellbore and a crossover tool for enabling reverse circulation in the wellbore. The crossover tool comprises a tool body, a sleeve, a drag block assembly, and a packer assembly. The tool body comprises a bore in fluid communication with the tubing string and a valve in the bore. The sleeve is located in the tool body and controls the valve based on the axial position of the sleeve in the tool body. The drag block assembly is coupled to the sleeve through the tool body and engages the wellbore to resist axial movement of the sleeve relative to the tool body. The packer assembly is coupled to the tool body and creates a fluid barrier in the annulus formed between the tubing string and the wellbore.

Abstract: Fluid damped check valves are described herein. A representative check valve includes a piston assembly movably positioned within a housing. The housing can include a flow chamber, a damping chamber containing a damping fluid, and a leak chamber fluidly coupled between the flow chamber and the damping chamber. The piston assembly can include a poppet positioned in the flow chamber, and a flange positioned in the damping chamber. In operation, the piston assembly is movable between (i) a closed position in which the poppet sealingly engages the housing to at least inhibit fluid flow through the flow chamber and (ii) an open position in which the poppet disengages from the housing and permits fluid flow through the flow chamber. When the piston assembly moves between the open and closed positions, the flange moves through the damping fluid in the damping chamber to slow the movement of the poppet.

  • Patent number: 11110247
Abstract: A breathing circuit system for delivering gas from a fresh source to a user through a face mask. The system includes a cylindrical housing and a resiliently-biased valve supported substantially centrally within the housing. In the default or “off” position, the resilient bias causes the valve to be seated on a valve seat shutting off axial flow of gas through the valve housing. When the patient or user breathes, negative pressure is applied to one side of the valve effective to sufficiently overcome the resilient bias imposed on the valve to move the valve off the valve seat axially (or otherwise open in another direction) within the housing, thereby allowing flow of gas through both the valve seat and the valve housing, and into the breathing circuit connected thereto. When the patient's breathing pauses and begins to exhale, the valve bias returns the valve to its default or off condition shutting off flow of gas through the valve.

The membrane goes in contact with the pillars of the middle plate, obstructing gradually the through holes of the pillars. The device is designed to keep the flow constant in a predefined range of pressure. The device is dedicated to ultra low flow rate up to 1 ml per day or below, typically for drug infusion. Plastic flow regulators comprise preferably several independent valves coupled in parallel. The membrane plate is therefore made of several flexible membranes obstructing gradually the flow by increasing the pressure. Stress limiters are used to avoid plastic deformation of the membrane.

Abstract: An unclamp delay valve for delaying release of hydraulic pressure in a hydraulic holding device. The unclamp delay valve may have a check valve allowing fluid to flow between an inlet port and an outlet port when held open by a piston translatable within a piston chamber. The check valve blocks fluid from flowing between the outlet port and the inlet port when released due to hydraulic fluid filling the piston chamber and translating the piston away from the check valve. To reopen the check valve, hydraulic pressure is released via the inlet port and slowly drains from a small orifice fluidly coupling the piston chamber and the inlet port, causing the piston to return to again open the check valve. A delay is thus created by the time it takes for the piston chamber to drain, thus opening the check valve to release hydraulic pressure therethrough.

Abstract: The delivery system has a control body in the form of a pendant to which oxygen is delivered and from which the oxygen is delivered to the patient. The body includes a reservoir which has a constant oxygen supply orifice. During rest conditions, the patient breathes only a portion of the reservoir contents. During physical activity, the patient breathes more deeply and inhales more oxygen from the reservoir. The reservoir has a flexible diaphragm and when breathing more deeply, the diaphragm moves to open a bolus oxygen supply valve to introduce a bolus of additional oxygen to the reservoir and thus to the patient.
