  • Patent number: 10926315
Abstract: Systems and processes for feeding longitudinal wires in a mesh 3 production machine. Mesh 3 is produced by the welding of longitudinal wires 2 with transverse wires 6 at a welding unit 27. The longitudinal wires may be pulled from decoiler reel 40, straightened, and then deposited in longitudinals storage 19. They are then received by a longitudinals carrier 15 and transported towards welding unit 27. The longitudinal wires 2 are selectively rotated around their longitudinal axes with selected angle, and restrained until their welding with the transverse wires. This negates effects of any possible curvature acquired during their straightening with rollers 9, so that after their welding, the resulting mesh 3 is produced planar with the distortion stresses neutralized.

  • Patent number: 10654091
Abstract: A method and apparatus for rebar cage construction is disclosed. A computerized controller operates an apparatus that automates parts of the rebar cage formation process. The computer controls motors for rotating the barrel and operating a wagon containing spiral coil wire. Initial rods are placed on a plurality of latitudinal conveyors. Dual cage ring assemblies are placed on the latitudinal conveyors, and notches or slots within the cage rings engage with the initial rods. The conveyors rotate the dual cage ring assemblies and a rod dispenser places a rod in additional notches. The rods, when completely installed, form a barrel structure. A wagon containing spiral coil wire is then moved longitudinally while the conveyors rotate to wrap the spiral coil wire around the barrel, to form a spiraled rebar cage.

A feed is present adjacent the former for directing a reinforcing rod against the rod as they are withdrawn from the former to allow the spiral rod to be welded to the longitudinal rods as to produce a reinforcing cage.

  • Patent number: 6148873
Abstract: A suitable automatically operating apparatus is proposed for producing reinforcing cages for rectangular pipes made of concrete. Longitudinal-wire sections, which are parallel to the pipe axis, are held together in a framework. The latter essentially comprises a perforated frame, which cannot be moved in the longitudinal direction, and a receiving frame, which can be displaced relative to the perforated frame. Rectilinear transverse-wire sections, angles or bent brackets are welded onto the longitudinal-wire configuration, to be precise onto the respective side surfaces of the longitudinal-bar configuration in a freely selectable manner. Fitting apparatuses which can be displaced perpendicularly with respect to the longitudinal-wire sections are used for this purpose. In addition to the wire thickness, it is also possible to select the spacings between the transverse-wire sections provided in each case.

  • Patent number: 6065462
Abstract: A closed loop wire saw loop, a method for making the closed wire saw loop, and an apparatus and method for slicing a work piece, in particular, a polysilicon or single crystal silicon ingot, utilizing a closed loop of diamond impregnated wire in which the work piece (or ingot) is rotated about its longitudinal axis as the diamond wire is driven orthogonally to it and advanced from a position adjoining the outer diameter ("OD") of the ingot towards its inner diameter ("ID"). In this manner, the diamond wire cuts through the work piece at a substantially tangential point to the circumference of the cut instead of through up to the entire diameter of the piece and single crystal silicon ingots of 300 mm to 400 mm or more may be sliced into wafers relatively quickly, with minimal `kerf` loss and less extensive follow-on lapping operations. The closed wire saw loop is made by squaring and welding the wire ends together and then twice heat treating the weld at about 1500 F.

Abstract: Wreath ring making machine having a ram torque stabilizer and an angle plate for imparting an offset angle to one rib arm. The wreath ring has a circular spine and C-shaped ribs disposed about the spine, the ribs having a back and two arms. The machine includes a pneumatic cylinder having a central axis connected to a ram, which is connected to a female die, which moves against a male die. A frame running parallel to the cylinder axis has the cylinder attached at the distal end and the male die attached at the proximal end. The stabilizer includes a stabilizer bracket attached at an intermediate portion of the frame and a corresponding stabilizer follower attached to the ram, where the stabilizer follower is slidably received by the stabilizer bracket, and stabilizes against torque in the ram and cylinder. The stabilizer significantly reduces torque on the cylinder and the resulting maintenance.

  • Patent number: 5688412
Abstract: A novel method and apparatus is disclosed for the production of single plane ladder-type rack strip material in which wire cross bar elements are Tee-welded to the inside surface portions of opposed, parallel side elements formed of similar wire material. The welding procedure involves contacting the cross bar element centrally with an electrode of a first polarity and contacting the wire side elements on opposite sides with electrodes of a second polarity. During the welding operation, current flows substantially equally from the first electrode in opposite directions through the opposite weld interfaces to the opposed second electrodes. By observing physical symmetry in the electrical supply at opposite sides, equalization of current flow is optimized so that the emerging rack strip product is flat and straight, suitable for commercial marketing.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for making welded mesh forms (10) having a stationary center beam (12) and an adjustable center beam (14). Two adjustable side beams (36 and 38) and one adjustable bottom beam and clamp (20) are provided so that any number of circular, arched, and/or elliptical wire mesh forms may be created. Once the desired shape has been properly formed by adjustment, a wire mesh (44) is inserted in between the adjustable clamps contained on the beams. A centering/positioning device (62) then grips the mesh along one free longitudinal edge and holds the wire mesh (44) in place as the clamps are clamped to the wire mesh (44) in clockwise sequence. This clockwise sequence adjusts the prerolled wire mesh (44) and creates a perfectly formed wire mesh (44) in the shape and diameter desired.
