Abstract: A cut-away cutting tool has two slit forming blade portions and a peeling blade portion interposed between the two slit forming blade portions. The two slit forming blade portions respectively form slits on an insulating coating of a flat conductor wire. On the other hand, the peeling blade portion peels off a portion of the insulating coating between the slits formed by the two slit forming blade portions.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for capturing and displaying real-time images of the environment in front of a user. In one implementation, a casing for a mobile device having an upward facing display surface and an opposing lower surface is provided. The casing may include a housing and image sensor having at least one optical axis configured to be oriented at a fixed obtuse angle with respect to the lower surface when the mobile device is retained by the housing. The image sensor may be oriented such that when the housing is held by a walking user at an acute angle with respect to a plane on which the user walks, the at least one optical axis generally faces in a walking direction of the user. The casing may further include circuitry for conveying from the at least one image sensor, image data for real-time display on the display surface.
Abstract: Example implementations relate to rack mountable power distribution units (PDUs). For example, a PDU includes a plurality of receptacles to couple to power cords of a plurality of computing devices, where each receptacle includes a retention mechanism to hold the power cords in the receptacles. The PDU includes a first set of mounting holes and a second set of mounting holes on either side of the PDU, where the first and second set of mounting holes are to receive a plurality of mounting buttons to mount the PDU to a rack.

Abstract: A method of forming a recess in a work, a work in which the recess is to be formed is a material that can be cut. A cutting tool for forming the recess is held by a moving apparatus at a prescribed angle relative to the work. The cutting tool is moved in a carving direction for carving the work at the prescribed angle, and a thin cutting fin is vertically formed. Then, the cutting tool is moved in the horizontal direction, and the cutting fin is cut and separated from the work. The fin-forming step and the cutting step are repeatedly performed in sequence, whereby a recess having a prescribed depth d and area is formed in the work.
Abstract: A power tool and accessories therefor including a variable speed motor for a mortiser, an integrated chisel positioning tool for positioning a chisel in a desired position, and an integrated tool sharpening device mounted directly on the power tool to permit ease and efficiency in the sharpening of tools. Additionally, an improved clamping arrangement is provided that permits firm clamping of a work piece without slippage. Greater flexibility in the hold down may be achieved by using arms for the hold down that are both rotatable about and can be translated along respective horizontal axes.

Abstract: A chisel quickly adjusting and positioning device for a chiseling machine includes a plurality of separating members for adjusting a gap between a sleeve and the bottom of a machine body, and a chisel unit composed of a chisel and a drill fitting lengthwise in the chisel. After the drill is fitted in the chisel and then clamped in a drill chuck, the chisel unit is fitted in the sleeve. Then the separating members can be pivotally moved in or out of the gap between the sleeve and the bottom of the machine body, and then the sleeve is pushed up so that a gap between the chisel blade and the tip of the drill may be formed for quickly adjusting and positioning the chisel unit with the machine body.
Abstract: A mortising tool designed to remove a specific quantity of material from a wooden object, such as a door or door jamb, to allow flush mounting of door hinge plates. The tool is comprised of a mortise forming member, a cutting device attached to the lower surface of the mortise forming member, and a longitudinal slot formed through the mortise forming member. The cutting edge of the cutting device and the slot are in alignment. Upon placing the cutting device of the mortising tool to one side of the surface of an object from which a mortise is to be formed, material removal is effected by striking the rear portion of the mortising tool and directing it across the object. Material is removed by the cutting device as the mortising tool is directed across the object, and the slot facilitates waste material removal. The mortising tool is also provided with a shoulder which extends from the lower surface of the mortise forming member for controlling the distance the mortising tool travels when forming a mortise.
Abstract: A machine and method for forming an inside corner portion in a one-piece article material where the inside corner portion is produced by the meeting at a corner of first and second adjacent profiles defined by grooves or members. The inside corner portion at the corner is formed by machining the article material to form portions of the profiles not including the entirity of the inside corner portion, and then shearing the article material in the corner to form the inside corner portion. The machine has first and second cutter assemblies each having a shear cutter. Each shear cutter is mounted for movement along a path between retracted and extended positions such that the path of movement of the cutter of the first assembly meets with the path of movement of the cutter of the second assembly. The article having partial profiles formed therein is mounted with the cutter's positioned and seated with the profiles and such that the profiles are aligned along the paths of movement of the cutters.
Abstract: A simple, inexpensive and easy to use tool for forming a rectangular mortice in either a door or a doorjamb. The tool comprises a U-shaped frame member adapted to be clamped to the edge of the door or doorjamb. Two sets of slots are formed in the frame, each set adapted to receive a pair of cutters. One set is aligned for forming a rectangular mortice on the edge of a door, while the other set is utilized to form the mortice on a doorjamb. A third cutter tool may be provided. The slots and cutters are designed to eliminate guesswork in forming the rectangular mortice.
