Abstract: This invention relates to an alloy comprising polyurethane and polyolefin. It has now surprisingly been found that a specific composition of polyolefin and polyurethane has surprising mechanical properties and at the same time has transparent characteristics and/or appearance. The present invention provides an alloy with remarkable mechanical properties. The phases do not macro-phase separate. Thus, this stable and potentially broad interface is very effective in stress transfer when the alloy is strained. As one might expect, the hardness values for the alloys are in between the hardness values of each component but the other physical properties are no adjusted. In this way, when considering the hardness and mechanical values, these alloys behave like two compatible polymers.

Abstract: The present invention provides for curable compositions composed of one or more cyanoacrylate monomers, and one or more (co)polymers. The compositions of the present invention may exhibit pressure sensitive adhesion properties at 23° C. Subsequent cure of the compositions can be initiated as appropriate. For example, an external stimulus such as heat or radiation (e.g. UV cure) may be applied to induce cure of the composition when desired to do so.

Abstract: A reinforcing method and structure for a steel structure and an elastic layer forming material for reinforcing a steel structure are provided that can prevent a reinforcing effect from being lowered by direct sunlight, can obtain a sufficient reinforcing effect, and can prevent a fiber sheet from being peeled away from a steel structure surface before the fiber sheet is torn. The reinforcing method for a steel structure, in which a fiber sheet including reinforcing fibers is bonded to a surface of the steel structure to integrate the fiber sheet with the steel structure, includes (a) a step of applying and hardening a polyurea resin putty to the surface of the steel structure to form an elastic layer, and (b) a step of bonding the fiber sheet to the surface of the steel structure having the elastic layer formed thereon with an adhesive agent.

Abstract: A sealant article useful for sealing a substrate surface having a first surface and a second surface is provided. The first surface comprises a deformable composition that is capable of conforming to a substrate surface when subjected to heat and/or pressure. The second surface of the sealant article has been at least partially cured by exposing said surface to an amount of radiation effective to induce at least partial curing of the second surface of the sealant article. Prior to such curing, the second surface also is comprised of the deformable composition. Such at least partial curing is effective to render the second surface less deformable than the first surface.
