  • Patent number: 5501260
Abstract: A jig that may be used to temporarily position a thin adaptor so that it can be attached near the bottom edge of a small, generally planar member such as a card (e.g., a conventional business card or photo, etc.). The jig controls the placement of adaptors and cards with respect to one another, so that each card/adaptor combination will be neatly aligned and spatially balanced. On one of the adaptor's faces there is provided a strip of adhesive that is adequate to permanently attach the adaptor to the bottom portion of a card. The adaptor's lower portion has a set of spaced notches that are designed to mate with (and be held by) a set of rails on a conventional holder, such as a desk-top holder manufactured by the Rolodex Corporation. A generally planar member that makes up the body of the jig, and a set of spatial locating elements is permanently affixed thereto. The generally planar member may be integrally molded into the top of a plastic box that serves as a storage container for a plurality of adaptors.

  • Patent number: 5407512
Abstract: An apparatus for accurately, efficiently, and consistently aligning a tabbing strip with the edges of the photographic print to which it is to be applied. The apparatus comprises a support panel, a tabbing strip registration guide, a photographic print registration guide, a clamping member including a linear clamp bar, and a spring for pivotally mounting the clamping member to the support panel. The present invention further provides a method of using the apparatus for accurately, efficiently, and consistently aligning a tabbing strip with the edges of the photographic print to which it is to be applied.

  • Patent number: 5275681
Abstract: The invention concerns a method for attaching tags (14) provided with closed loops (34), so-called tie-on tags, to the necks of containers (27, 27A).Tags (14) of this type are usually slipped on by hand over the containers (27, 27A) passing by on an assembly line, which requires high numbers of employees. The object of the invention to develop the method in such a way that the tags (14) can be automatically attached to the container necks is solved thereby that the tags (14) provided with loops (34) are aligned and placed in a row in a first procedural step, as well as fastened to at least one support band (16) and, in a second procedural step, a gripper (24) is inserted into each loop (34), each loop (34) is released from the support band (16), the gripper (24) with the loop (34) crosses over the neck of a container (27, 27A), that the loop (34) is released from the gripper (24) and the gripper (24) is moved away from the container (27, 27A).
