Abstract: A pig stopping device for stopping a pipeline inspection gauge in the receiving station of a pipeline is provided. The device provides a cylindrical frame sized to be inserted into the receiving station of a pipeline. The cylindrical frame includes a pair of opposing circular plates having inner surfaces connected by a plurality of elongated rods, thereby forming an interior volume within the cylindrical frame. The circular plates each comprise a plurality of apertures configured to allow the flow of liquid and debris therethrough and into the interior volume. A cage wraps around the exterior of the elongated rods, thereby enclosing the interior volume but allowing the flow of liquid therethrough. In this way, debris pushed into the interior volume of the pig stopping device by a pig or the flow of product in the pipeline is caught therein and prevented from flowing into a bypass line of the receiving station.

  • Patent number: 5794680
Abstract: A retractable arced window covering for arced windows. The invention is a pleated fan covering for arced windows which can be remotely operated by a pull cord for opening and closing the covering. The arced window covering includes a base which hides the retracted covering, a first arced track extending from the base, and a foldable pleated member which is suspended from the track and can be drawn along the track using a cord. The present invention has a second embodiment in which there are two foldable pleated members that can be drawn along the track in opposite directions and in unison from a horizontal retracted position to an expanded position such that the pleated members meet at the apex of the arced window. Both embodiments of the arced window covering include a locking mechanism capable of holding the cord and the foldable pleated member in a selected position.

  • Patent number: 5765619
Abstract: An arched window covering includes a flexible fabric drape having a passageway formed on two sides thereof with one passageway extending over an elongated drape support rod having two ends. The support rod has each end attached to one end portion of an elongated base to form an arcuate rod attached to two ends of a linear elongated base. A flexible cord is attached through the other passageway of the fabric drape and is pulled to bunch the drape together. It is attached to cord attaching brackets on the base between the end portions of the base to thereby form an arched drape for covering an arched window. An elongated base can be formed of a plurality of members which can be adjusted to vary the length of the base and to thereby vary the arc of the elongated drape support rod.

  • Patent number: 5584329
Abstract: An arched-window shade (1) has a plurality of left-side blades (2) and right-side blades (3) with center ends oppositely disposed and attached pivotally to at least one blade axle (7, 8, 28) positioned centrally on a sill (4) of an arched window (5). The left blades are juxtaposed side-by-side and linked together consecutively with at least one left link line (24) and the right blades are juxtaposed side-by-side and linked together consecutively with at least one right link line (25). A left draw string (11) is attached to a select one of the left blades at a design distance from its center end and a right draw string (12) is attached to a select one of the right blades at a design distance from its center end. The draw strings are routed over a lift support (18, 30, 31) positioned centrally above the at-least-one blade axle, then downward and outward on line supports (19, 20, 22, 23). The left blades of the shade are opened and closed by raising and lowering the left draw string.

Abstract: An adjustable shade comprising a pleated expandable and collapsible main shade and a pleated expandable and collapsible auxiliary shade on a lower end of the main shade, with the auxiliary shade arranged so that the pleats can fan outwardly from one side edge of the auxiliary shade. Expansion of the one side edge of the auxiliary shade is controlled so that it can form an inverted fan configuration with the one side edge of the shade adjacent the center of the fan configuration. The auxiliary shade is preferably formed in two auxiliary shade sections with each arranged so that it can be moved from a collapsed condition paralleling the pleats in the main shade to an expanded condition with the pleats radiating outwardly from one side edge through the arc of about 90 degrees. The auxiliary shade sections are preferably mounted on a lower rail attached to the lower end of the main shade.

  • Patent number: 5117889
Abstract: A blind type covering most appropriate to a semi-circular window, constructed of a multible slats, strung together in such a way as to cover a 180.degree. arch when closed, in an even and symmetrical manner. One or two sets of these blades pivot either manually or mechanically from a rigid base attached to or near the window frame. The blades may be composed of virtually any material capable of being self supporting at the lengths necessary, and may also be hollow in nature, allowing for a covering material. By incorporating slots in the blades and a track system, the blades may be pulled out to fully compensate for the irregularities of the arch itself. Further, a quick coupling system may be used to attach the blind to the window, for ease of maintenance.
