  • Patent number: 9456538
Abstract: A reversible plough with a frame for a 3-point hitch attachment comprises a frame with lower first and second and an upper third attachment point for attachment to a 3-point hitch. A vertical pivot axle supports a plough tool carrier for pivotable movement. The upper third attachment point is located on a vertical pivot plate in a first upper pivot point. A second lower pivot point of said plate is connected to a transversel pivot axis on the frame and a third upper pivot point of said plate is connected to a control link. When the upper link of the 3-point hitch moves backwards, then the plate pivots and moves the control link backwards as well. Said control link extends towards the rear end portion of the frame and is connected to a link arrangement pivotally supported by the vertical pivot axle and connected to the plough tool carrier.

  • Patent number: 5713421
Abstract: An integrated combination of a reversible plow and a soil preparation device which includes a headstock, a carrying beam, a carrying arm mounted at one end of the combination, and at its other end having a swivel mounting. The carrying beam is mounted on a mounting block. The carrying arm is coupled with the mounting block so that the soil preparation device can take up a cooperative working position automatically after each plow body reversal. The carrying arm is adjustably mounted on the mounting block via a pivotable coupling.

  • Patent number: 5407015
Abstract: A soil breaking apparatus for use with a bottom plow comprises a beam pivotally attached by a bolt to the bottom plow; a port arm and a starboard arm fixedly attached to the beam; and a two-way hydraulic cylinder for pivoting the arms and the beams, such that the arms are oriented substantially parallel to the soil despite the tilting of the bottom plow. The soil breaking apparatus is suitable for use with bottom plows, such as bidirectional moldboard plows. The clumps or clods of soil turned up during plowing are broken up by soil breaking rods that depend from and are spaced along the arms. An improved plow combines the features of the soil breaking apparatus with those of a reversible bottom plow.

  • Patent number: 5062488
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed to perform a method of tilling the soil on a crop field that: will hold rainwater where it falls, increase the percolation rate of this water into the soil, and provide storage room above and below ground level for this water. The tillage method depends on forming a series of small, flat topped terraces with interconnecting lateral dams. These small, flat topped terraces are sized, laterally spaced, and flat topped so that row crops can easily be planted on top of them. The small, flat topped terraces are generated during a deep soil tillage operation. An apparatus is provided to generate these uniformly spaced, flat topped terraces with lateral dams in a four-step process while traveling in either direction across a sloping crop field. Small supplemental tillage means may advantageously be provided for lateral dam generation under adverse soil conditions.

  • Patent number: 4216730
Abstract: A cottonseed planter for planting cottonseed along a selected side of a raised bed is disclosed. The planter is adapted for two-way operation through the field and includes a tool bar frame having ground engaging means. Multiple seeders are supported on the frame and at least one of the seeders is tiltable in both directions from vertical for seeding operations. Shaping blades are pivotally mounted on the frame intermediate the seeders and precede the seeders in operation. A control rod is operatively connected to the seeders and the blades so that upon reaching the end of a seed bed row, the operator can change the position of the seeders and blades and continue seeding on the same side of the seed bed in the reverse direction of operation through the field. In the preferred embodiment, the seeders are a press wheel type and at least one seeder is disengaged in each direction of operation.
