Rolling And Non-rolling Patents (Class 172/174)
  • Patent number: 8047299
Abstract: An agricultural tillage implement constructed to condition crop residue and cultivate the conditioned crop residue. The tillage implement includes a first residue conditioner and a second residue conditioner pivotably attached to a frame of the tillage implement. The first and second conditioners are movable independent of each other and of the frame such that an operator may raise and lower the first and second conditioners relative to the frame to change the depths of the conditioners.

  • Patent number: 7980318
Abstract: A method and apparatus for pre-fracturing soil before the soil is cut by coulter wheels to achieve an improved cultivation apparatus wherein a penetrator bar is rotatably mounted on the front of a tillage implement and supports a plurality of adjustable S-tines for penetration of the soil prior to cultivation and resulting interaction of the fractured soil with the coulter blades.

  • Patent number: 6698525
Abstract: A low till agricultural implement has a frame with a hitch for attachment to a tractor. A straight coulter composed of an array of parallel circular blades is mounted to the front of the frame, and is followed by a spiral reel assembly and a spike tooth harrow assembly. The circular blades are mounted perpendicular to rotating shafts, and slice through field residue and soil with minimal side movement of material. The blades of the following reel then make cuts nearly perpendicular to those made by the circular blades. A trailing level bar follows the spiral reel. The implement aids in drying the soil surface layer, and, by cutting up residue and even spreading, the implement helps to warm up the soil.

  • Patent number: 6675906
Abstract: A ground surface treatment apparatus including a frame adapted to be operatively received by a ground ripping attachment of a self propelled vehicle, and a ground engaging implement carried by the frame for treating the ground surface is provided. The apparatus further includes a resiliently responsive linkage interposed between a portion of the frame and a portion of the ground ripping attachment such that the frame is resiliently responsive to ground ripping tool manipulations and ground surface contours.

  • Patent number: 5613566
Abstract: A multiple rig row crop cultivator with first and second concave disks supported for operation at two different depths from adjacent rigs to provide two-step sizing of residue. The first disk, located ahead of the second disk, operates at a first depth in the soil to slice out the upper portions of roots and direct plant residue to the row middle. The second disk cuts to a depth approximately twice that of the first disk to further cut out root sections and move the root sections and other plant debris to the opposite row middle. After the disks move stalks and roots to the row middles, sweeps with ridging/bedding wings move the mixture of soil, stalks, and roots to the top of the bed to cover the groove made by the disks and preserve the original plant bed.

  • Patent number: 5390745
Abstract: A cultivator for post-planting cultivation. The cultivator includes a main frame. A chisel member has one end portion coupled to the frame and a second end portion spaced from the first end portion along a longitudinal axis of the chisel member for cultivating soil during operation of the cultivator. A heave limiter is coupled to the frame ahead of the chisel member relative to the direction of operation of the chisel cultivator. The chisel member is adjustable relative to the frame to adjust the distance of the second end portion of the chisel member from the frame. A sweep assembly is coupled to the frame behind the chisel member relative to the direction of operation of the cultivator. The sweep assembly includes wings which extend outwardly of a centerline extending in the direction of operation of the cultivator in a plane substantially orthogonal to the longitudinal axis of the chisel member. A sifting assembly is coupled to the sweep assembly.

  • Patent number: 5361848
Abstract: Improvements are disclosed for independent adjustment of the gauge wheel, disc hillers, stabilizer disc and, if desired, the rear, central sweep for an agricultural cultivator unit. The adjusting mechanism includes a screw jack which is easily accessible from the top of the cultivator for setting the adjustment of vertically telescoping inner and outer tubular sections, and a clamp for maintaining the setting once the adjustment is made. Improvements in the disc hiller structure itself include an indicator plate located at the top of the shank on which the disc is mounted for indicating the angular adjustment of the working angle of the disc, and a forged shank having a circular cross-section at the top, and a flattened portion at the bottom to provide strength but flexibility.

  • Patent number: 4117893
Abstract: An agricultural tool bar includes a main frame adapted to be drawn by a traction vehicle. First and second tool support beams are pivotally mounted to the main frame. The tool support beams are adapted for movement between a use position and a road travel position. In the use position, the axes of the tool support beams are collinear and extend transverse of the direction of travel of the vehicle, and in the travel position, they are folded rearwardly. An articulated link is provided for each tool support bar, selectively holding it either in the use position or the folded position. The main frame and tool support beams may be raised relative to the ground so that the tool support bars do not have to be rotated about horizontal axes prior to folding.
