Multiple Level Tools Patents (Class 172/382)
  • Patent number: 9453325
Abstract: Serrated plow blades for vibratory plowing systems are presented. A plow blade assembly in a first embodiment includes a plurality of serrations welded along the leading edge of a plow blade in a substantially contiguous series, for exerting a cutting force on subsoil and underground obstructions. The serrations may have tapered faces and a knife-like upper edge that is oriented at an acute angle relative to the leading edge of the plow blade. In a second embodiment, a plow blade assembly is manufactured from a single plate that is precisely cut to form a blade with integral serrations. These serrated plow blades last longer and the sawing action allows more continuous plowing through subsoil obstructions without stopping.

  • Publication number: 20130341056
Abstract: A self-compensating multiple-section agricultural implement is disclosed. The agricultural implement includes a first ground-engaging tool coupled to a first frame section. A lift device in fluid communication with a hydraulic controller is coupled to the first frame section. The lift device is configured for raising and lowering the first frame section to move the first ground-engaging tool between a first ground-engaging tool transport position and a first pre-selected operating depth. A second frame section is coupled to the first frame section forward of the first ground-engaging tool. A second ground-engaging tool is coupled to the second frame section. An extendable and retractable cylinder is in fluid communication with the hydraulic controller and is coupled to the first frame section and the second frame section.

  • Patent number: 6076614
Abstract: A dirt-loosening tool comprising of an elongated handle having a head at one end that has multiple prongs in separate planes that can be easily pushed into soil. A footrest deposed between the separate planes doubles as a leveraged fulcrum. This allows for effortless cultivation of compacted dirt.

  • Patent number: 5409068
Abstract: An agricultural plow implement includes a number of upright supports, with each support supporting a shallow tillage V-shaped sweep blade. A mounting plate is attached to the rear of each upright support and a specially adapted ripper shank, with an attached deep penetrating ripper blade, is attachable to each plate via a pair of bolts which extend through respective mounting bores in the plate. One of the bolts in each pair is a pivot bolt which provides a pivot point about which the ripper shank can swing. The other bolt is a shear pin which is designed to shear off should the ripper blade encounter an obstruction which might otherwise bend or break the ripper blade and/or the ripper shank. The ripper shank is adjustable vertically relative to the sweep blade and the ripper shank can also be pivoted 180 degrees between operative and non-operative positions when it is desired to do a sweep operation without soil ripping.

  • Patent number: 5377766
Abstract: An angled blade unit is attached to a loader bucket and, as the bucket is moved along a roadway, the blade unit plows excess roadstone away from a newly poured concrete gutter in order to prepare a roadbed for paving. A gage rides along the flag of the gutter and limits the depth to which the blade unit plows into the roadstone.

  • Patent number: 5082064
Abstract: A tillage implement which has both deep tillage subsoil shanks at the rear of the machine and relatively shallow running, residue cutting and topsoil mixing discs at the front of the machine provides for expeditious depth adjustment of the discs through spacer blocks that may be inserted between the underside of the frame of the implement and the tops of the gang beams. The blocks are designed to be clamped in position beside pivot bolts and angle retaining bolts of the gangs such that the blocks may be inserted or removed by merely loosening the bolts instead of completely removing the same and without interfering with the ability of the gangs to be angle adjusted fore-and-aft. The configuration of the blocks is such that they may be stacked one upon the other to provide an increased range of depth adjustment without sacrificing rigidity of construction.

  • Patent number: 4924946
Abstract: Apparatus for deep plowing highly compacted soil includes successively forming troughs of loosened soil immediately adjacent a previously formed trough. After each pass the plow leaves a trough of loosened soil having a transverse vertical profile (called a "fracture profile") in the general shape of a parallelogram with sides inclined upwardly and toward the unplowed ground. Each successive trough is formed by pulling a first set of point plows located on the unplowed side of said successive swath and at a depth of approximately one-half the desired depth to loosen soil in the upper portion of the fracture profile. A second point plow located to the rear of the first plows and at the desired depth is pulled approximately midway of the bottom of the fracture profile to loosen the remaining soil in the lower portion of the fracture profile.

  • Patent number: 4365674
Abstract: A row marker featuring tandem cutting discs, each with convex and concave surfaces, which are disposed to present the convex surfaces to opposite sides of a cutting line. The disc's cutting edges are rotatably adjustable, either individually or as a pair, whereby they can be rotated to widen or narrow the furrow if desired. The cutting edges are set to cut along the same line or overlap slightly at their deepest points. The trailing disc cuts the earth to a deeper point than the lead disc. The depth of the marker furrow can be varied by adjusting a forwardly disposed ground wheel. An extension arm connects the tandem cutting discs to a planter at a selected distance to provide the precise location of the marker furrow. An adjustable joint allows realignment of the cutting edges to insure contact with the soil in a true vertical position when extension arm length is altered.

  • Patent number: 4313504
Abstract: A ripper assembly (10) includes at least two ripper members (16,18) mounted in tandem relationship and adapted for connection to a vehicle (14). A linkage assembly (20) interconnects the ripper members. A hydraulic cylinder (44) is operable to raise and lower the linkage assembly (20) so that the leading ripper member (16) penetrates the ground first and thereafter the trailing ripper member (18) penetrates the ground, vertically below the leading ripper member. The ripper assembly insures efficient ground penetration and a self-cleaning function in comparison with conventional rippers of the multiple-tooth type.
