Load-holder Transfer Mechanism Patents (Class 177/151)
  • Patent number: 8089638
Abstract: The present invention relates to a stage with a displacement measuring means capable of measuring a displacement, and more particularly, to a stage provided with a displacement magnification means capable of magnifying a displacement so as to precisely measure a minute displacement on the order of nanometers. A stage according to an aspect of the present invention comprises a fixed base, a movable table, a first elastic support, a first actuator, a first displacement converting means and a first displacement measuring means. The movable table is installed to be movable with respect to the fixed base. The first elastic support supports the movable table with respect to the fixed base, and the first actuator generates a displacement of the movable table in one direction.

  • Publication number: 20080121440
Abstract: A weighing system contains 1 or more weighing elements (2). The weight of the receptor/superstructure (4) with or without a load is borne by the weighing element(s) (2). At least 1 weighing elements (2) is connected with 2 fasteners (3), with one positioned in the connection between one fastening end (6) of the weighing (element2) and the framework/chassis (5) and with the other positioned in the connection between the other fastening end (7) of the weighing element (2) and the receptor/superstructure (4). At least 1 weighing element (2) is partly or entirely positioned with at least 1 of its fastening ends (6)(7) in the space between its 2 fasteners (3), with the characteristic that the weighing system has a device (1) which can lift the receptor/superstructure (4) from the framework/chassis (5) and which can deposit the receptor/superstructure (4) back on the framework/chassis (5) after weighing. The weighing system can also be manufactured and applied as on-board weighing on vehicles.

  • Patent number: 6380496
Abstract: An apparatus (10) for weighing wheeled or wheel- or caster-supported loads, including non-ambulatory patients confined to wheeled beds, which combines lift, support, and weight-measuring functions. The apparatus (10) is lightweight, portable, and employs a foot-activated lever-based design, including a foot bar (51) and pivoting wheel receptacle (50), for raising both the load and the load's wheeled support, if any. The apparatus (10) can be positioned for use without moving the load, and, because the apparatus utilizes leg and lower body strength, operators need not possess substantial arm or upper body strength. Thus, injuries which result from improper lifting techniques are avoided.

  • Patent number: 6353184
Abstract: A building entrance protector assembly includes a building entrance protector housing having an opening. The housing includes a plurality of concentric cylindrical side walls around the opening. Each side wall at least partly overlies another one of the side walls. At least one annular surface is provided at an end of the side walls distal from the flange. The distance between the flange and each distal (annular or disk shaped) surface increases monotonically from an outermost annular surface to an innermost annular or circular surface. Each annular surface is located at a respectively different distance from the flange. Each side wall is connected to an adjacent side wall by one of the annular surfaces. One or more of the inner side walls may be cut away to accommodate a variety of cable sizes. A cable passes through an innermost one of the side walls. A heat shrink tubing secures the cable to the adapter. The heat shrink tubing is adhered to the cable and the outermost side wall.

  • Patent number: 6329612
Abstract: An invalid hoist comprises a mast, a lifting arm which can be raised and lowered by telescopically extending and retracting the mast and/or by raising and lowering a carriage, which may support the lifting arm, relative to the mast, and a load cell on the lifting arm for providing a signal representative of the weight of a person being lifted. The lifting arm is connected to the mast or the carriage by an arrangement which allows the lifting arm to be displaced angularly in a vertical plane against a spring force in order to maintain the load cell in a constant orientation as a vertical load is applied to the lifting arm.

  • Patent number: 4522276
Abstract: An individual nuclear fuel rod weighing system for rods carried on a tray which moves along a materials handling conveyor. At a first tray position on the conveyor, a lifting device raises the rods off the tray and places them on an overhead ramp. A loading mechanism conveys the rods singly from the overhead ramp onto an overhead scale for individual weighing. When the tray is at a second position on the conveyor, a transfer apparatus transports each weighed rod from the scale back onto the tray.

  • Patent number: 4509609
Abstract: A weighbelt is conventionally placed in or associated with a production line for weighing material supplied during production. The weighbelt of the invention has a belt 10 which can be lifted by rollers 18 out of contact with a planar support plate 16 without stopping the belt 10. A known mass 24 is then lowered into a cradle 26 to provide a downward force on the plate 16 to calibrate output signals of a strain gauge 22. The strain gauge 22 provides output signals when the belt is supported by the plate 16 indicative of the material loading on the belt 10. The weighbelt can be calibrated without stopping the belt 10 and disrupting production.
