  • Patent number: 10903784
Abstract: A truss foundation for single-axis trackers that is optimized to resist moments. For foundations that experience lateral loads as well as moments, the foundation supports the rotational axis via a moment connection that is deliberately offset below the work point to reduce the impact of the bending moment. Spacing between the truss legs and the angle of the legs impact the height of the truss work point and, by extension, the available offset below the work point down to the minimum height of the axis of rotation specified by the tracker maker.

  • Patent number: 8657072
Abstract: The design is for a sawhorse with a collapsible support platform to support material that is being cut-off or worked on. The support platform keeps the material that is being cut from falling and/or splintering at the end of the cut and reduces or eliminates the need for an addition person to support the portion of the material being cut-off or for the person doing the cutting to attempt to hold the material being cut-off with one hand while cutting with the other and creating an unsafe condition. The sawhorse with support platform does not necessarily eliminate the need for a second sawhorse to support the opposite end of the material being cut or worked on. The sawhorse can be provided with the platform on both sides to provide additional cutting or material support surface which may then eliminate the need for a second sawhorse. Abstract: The multipurpose sawhorse end frame has a top section defining center and lateral slots for receiving 2?×4? beams and central slots for 2?×12? planks, a central section with center slots for receiving 2?×4? beams and lateral support bars for supporting 2?×12? planks, and a bottom section having feet for supporting the frame. A plurality of diagonal braces maintain rigidity of the end frame and provide the end frame with structural strength. Two or more end frames may be configured as a sawhorse, a scaffold, a workbench, a table, or other temporary construction accessory using scrap lumber and without fasteners. The multipurpose sawhorse end frame may be made from lightweight aluminum or other suitable material.

Abstract: The sawhorse has a body and an adjustable height horizontal load supporting beam vertically movable relatively to the body. A vertically extendible member can be used between the load-supporting beam and the body to adjust the vertical position of the load-supporting beam relative to the body, with an actuator to operate the vertically extendible member. The sawhorse can have a mechanism allowing to adjust the height of the load supporting beam while the sawhorse is supporting a load. An adjustable height unit for use assembled to a sawhorse body is also described.

Abstract: A support structure has a first leg, a second leg, eg, a second leg, a third leg and a fourth leg. Each of these legs has a top portion, a center portion, and a bottom portion. The first leg includes a first hinge and a first stop. The first hinge connects the first leg center portion and the second leg center portion. The first hinge allows rotation of the second leg with respect to the first leg. The first leg center portion includes the first stop for limiting the rotation of the second leg with respect to the first leg.

Abstract: A collapsible work horse has legs pivotally mounted to opposing surfaces of a support beam. The legs are secured in the extended position by a two-part locking arrangement. In one non-limiting embodiment of the invention, a first part of a locking arrangement is mounted to each of the first ends of the legs adjacent the pivot point of its respective leg, and a second part of the locking arrangement is mounted to the supporting member. When the legs are in the extended position, the first and second parts of the locking arrangement engage one another to securely fix the legs in the extended position. In another non-limiting embodiment of the invention, a plurality of work horses are assembled with a tool support and work piece supports to provide a work station. The tool support and work piece supports are designed to be fixable in a compact storage arrangement.
