Linkage Mechanisms Patents (Class 184/6.19)
  • Patent number: 8827040
Abstract: The invention relates to a system for lubricating a closing mechanism on a saddle coupling comprising a closing mechanism which is arranged on the lower side of a coupling plate and which comprises at least one closing hook and/or closing bar, provided with a coating, and a fat reservoir which is connected to the closure hook by means of a lubricating line. The invention also relates to a coating of individual components of the system, i.e. the closing hook and the closing bar, in addition to the use of a coating. The invention is characterized in that the coating of the closing hook and/or the closing bar is embodied as a sliding coating.

  • Patent number: 8556039
Abstract: A system and method for lubricating a key shaft in a compaction machine is disclosed. The compaction machine may include a spline oil cavity and a key shaft in fluid communication with the spline oil cavity. The key shaft may include an axial splined portion and a helical splined portion on an outer surface thereof, a longitudinal lubricating passage extending through a substantial length of the key shaft and a plurality of additional lubricating passages intersecting the longitudinal lubricating passage. The system and method may additionally include lubricating the axial splined portion and the helical splined portion of the key shaft with the lubricating oil drawn from the spline oil cavity.

  • Patent number: 8387755
Abstract: A lubrication system is provided that includes a pump operatively connected to one or more supply lines for delivery of a lubricant, the system including a first pressure sensor associated with the supply line at a first position, and a second pressure sensor associated with the supply line at a second position downstream of the first position and pump, a controller configured to receive pressure signals and control operation of the pump based upon the pressure differential between the pressures at the first position and second position. The pressure differential may be employed to determine when a pressure at a third position downstream of the second position has been achieved. At least one of the pressure sensors may be positioned adjacent to the pump, the controller further being operable to deactivate the pump in the event that a maximum pump pressure has been met.

  • Patent number: 7703577
Abstract: A door hinge lubricator includes a tube, a wicking material and at least one attachment device. At least one lubrication opening is formed through a wall of the tube. Each lubrication opening could be a hole or a slot. The wicking material is inserted into an inner perimeter of the tube. The wicking material is saturated with a lubricant, such as oil. Each end of the tube is sealed with an end plug or the like. The at least one attachment device is preferably attached substantially in-line with the at least one lubrication opening. It is preferable to place the single attachment device on each end of the tube. The door hinge lubricator is attached to one of the hinge plates, adjacent the hinge pin. Lubricant will be wicked into the joints between the opposing hinge plates. After a door hinge stops squeaking, the door hinge lubricator may be removed.

Abstract: The invention concerns a lubricating system for a fifth-wheel traction coupling of a towing vehicle, comprising a coupling plate, the upper side of which has at least one grease discharge aperture which is connected to a lubricating device via a supply line fixed to the coupling plate. The invention addresses the problem of developing a lubricating system for towing vehicles which permits automatic lubrication irrespective of whether a central lubricating system is provided. The invention solves the problem using a lubricating system in which the lubricating device is associated with the fifth-wheel traction coupling and is arranged directly on the fifth-wheel traction coupling or in the vicinity of the fifth-wheel traction coupling.
