Abstract: Exemplary embodiments are directed to a switching device for an electric circuit including at least one contact movable between a closed position in which it is coupled to a corresponding fixed contact and an open position in which it is spaced away from said corresponding fixed contact. The switching device including at least one locking device configured for being actuated between a rest configuration in which said at least one movable contact is free to move and an operative configuration in which it locks said at least one movable contact in the open position. The locking device is configured for outputting one or more electrical signals which are indicative of at least one of the rest configuration, the operative configuration, and an under actuation condition wherein the locking device itself is moving between said rest and operative configurations.

Abstract: An inexpensive remote control that provides an easy means to block the function of trouble-prone keys. In one embodiment, the user presses the selected key for a short time to place that key into the locked mode. In another embodiment, the user presses a LOCK key and then presses the selected key to place that key into the locked mode. To change the key back to the unlocked mode, the same process is repeated. A LED can flash when a locked key is pressed to alert the user that the key is locked. Means to automatically lock a preferred set of keys and means to unlock all keys can also be provided. A key's function is blocked by either not sending a signal from the remote or by sending a unique lock code. No changes to components or manufacturing processes of existing remotes or controlled devices are needed.

Abstract: The present invention provides a switch that can prevent a locking member from being lost, that allows easy operations of handle locking and unlocking, and that allows more secure handle locking. A switch of the present invention includes a fixed contact point, a moving contact point capable of making contact with the fixed contact point, a handle to move the moving contact point, and a locking lever to lock the handle. The handle is equipped integrally with an overhang portion. The overhang portion is formed with a notched portion. The locking lever is equipped integrally with a projecting portion. The locking lever is pressed upwardly by a spring. When the handle is at a first position, an operation of the handle is locked by engaging the projecting portion to the notched portion. When the handle is at a second position opposite to the first position, an operation of the handle is allowed by letting the projecting portion abut on a lower surface of the overhang portion.
