  • Patent number: 10414677
Abstract: An apparatus for treating fluid in a main reservoir includes an auxiliary reservoir and filter located outside the main reservoir. Ozonated air bubbles are injected by a diffuser into a lift tube containing fluid from the main reservoir. The fluid flows up the lift tube and into the auxiliary reservoir due to the expansion of the ozonated air bubbles as they go up the lift tube. The fluid is caused to pass through the auxiliary reservoir and filter and back into the main reservoir as a result of the flow of ozonated air in the lift tube. A UV germicidal lamp is positioned in the path of fluid flow downstream of said diffuser. In an alternate embodiment, fluid flow to and from the main reservoir is via conduits normally used to connect the main reservoir to a conventional high pressure water pump and filter.

  • Patent number: 10173835
Abstract: A waste collection container has vertical walls extending up from a horizontal base and a raised floor supported on a ledge above the base to define a primary collection chamber above the raised floor and a liquid collection reservoir between the base and the raised floor. The top surface of the raised floor is sloped downwardly from the outer periphery to a central elongate grate to direct rain water and other liquid in the primary collection chamber to the grate and into the lower liquid collection chamber. When the waste collection container is inverted to dump the collected waste into a truck, water and other liquid remains trapped in the lower reservoir, thereby reducing the load weight of the truck. One or more drain holes near the base of the container allow the liquid to be drained out of the liquid collection reservoir.

  • Patent number: 8182677
Abstract: Known tank flanges have a main filter which has a filter housing with an inlet and an outlet, and a first connecting duct for connecting the main filter to a feed unit. The filter housing is integrated in the tank flange, and filter fabric is inserted into the filter housing and the filter housing is closed off by a filter cover. The inlet of the filter housing is connected to the pressure side of a feed unit and the outlet leads to an internal combustion engine. A disadvantage is that, in order to exchange the filter fabric, the large-area filter cover must be opened, as a result of which a large amount of fuel vapor is dissipated to the atmosphere. In the case of the tank flange according to the invention, the exchangeability of the main filter is simplified by virtue of the main filter being embodied as a filter cartridge. It is provided according to the invention that the inlet of the main filter extends into the first connecting duct of the tank flange and therein forms a sealed connection.

Abstract: A gas baffle for a waste water treatment plant filter housing that includes a first and second deflecting plate. The gas baffle has at least one flow-through opening defined by the first and second deflecting plates. The combination of the first and second deflecting plates deflects rising gas bubbles and any solid particulates so that the bubbles and particulates do not enter the filter housing. The gas baffle may include exterior apertures to dissipate the rising gas bubbles that travel on the bottom surface of each deflecting plate. The gas baffle may be integrally formed with the filter housing or created separately and subsequently connected.

  • Patent number: 8147687
Abstract: The present invention provides a ballast water treatment system including a reaction tank in which raw water and ozone are imported and made to react each other for a predetermined period of time to kill microorganisms existing in raw water, an ozone decomposer in which water containing residual ozone discharged from the reaction tank is imported and the residual ozone is decomposed, and a circulation pump installed between the reaction tank and ozone decomposer, forming a circulation system which removes the residual ozone by means of circulating the water containing the residual ozone between the reaction tank and ozone decomposer. Accordingly, this system dispenses with a deaeration tank which would require a wide space for installation, small cost and is able to be applied to existing ships easily.

Abstract: The invention relates to a water separator (1), in particular for fuel supply systems of internal combustion engines in motor vehicles, comprising a housing (2) having a separation chamber (11) designed therein and a separation element (18). A collection chamber (12) for the water separated out of the fuel is arranged under the separation chamber. An inlet (8) and an outlet (14) for the fuel are furthermore provided on the housing (2). The housing (2) is substantially designed as a tube-shaped element (3) having a horizontal longitudinal axis (LA), wherein a partition (10) extends in the direction of the longitudinal axis (LA), separating the separating chamber (11) from the collection chamber (12). The separating element (18) comprises a tube element (19) lying horizontally in the separation chamber (11) having radial openings (21) through which the fuel is conducted, wherein the tube element (19) extends at least approximately parallel to the partition (10).
