  • Patent number: 11213772
Abstract: A liquid solid separator tank has a motor driven recirculating belt having rollers placed therein processing a mixture of materials. The top belt brings wet materials into a collection trough having overflow weirs disposed externally. These weirs permit overflow liquids to flow down towards a main tank; then, a sump pump reintroduces water back into an influent basin to cleanse the mixture once again. Also, the action of a motor driven auger within the trough forces solids towards a dewatering box attached externally thereto. This box has a motor driven rotating cage mounted on moveable rollers and internally attached removable brushes that act to clean the outer surface of the cage as it moves in addition to a stationary high pressure wash. A shroud channels the influent liquid solid mixture towards a filtered water basin disposed directly underneath the lower belt portion permitting cleansed water to be removed therefrom.

Abstract: A liquid concentrating device includes a gas inlet, a gas exit and a flow corridor connecting the gas inlet and a gas exit. The flow corridor includes a narrowed portion that accelerates the gas through the flow corridor. A liquid inlet injects liquid into the gas stream at a point prior to the narrowed portion. The gas liquid combination is thoroughly mixed within the flow corridor and a portion of the liquid is evaporated. A demister downstream of the narrowed portion removes entrained liquid droplets from the gas stream and re-circulates the removed liquid to the liquid inlet through a re-circulating circuit. Fresh liquid is introduced into the re-circulating circuit at a rate sufficient to offset the amount of liquid evaporated in the flow corridor.

Abstract: A method is provided of recycling and decontaminating oil-based waste drilling mud and cuttings contaminated with oil-based waste drilling mud. A facility for performing the method is also provided. The method includes removing the coarse solids from the mud, breaking the emulsion, and separating the hydrophobic phase from the water phase and the solid phase. The solids may then be treated by either or both of two approaches. One approach involves vaporizing all residual oil and water from the solids, and burning off the vaporized oil. Another approach involves at least partially vaporizing the residual oil from the solids and recondensing the oil. The method produces a solid “soil” product that is free from oil contamination (or is sufficiently decontaminated to allow reuse), an oil product that is fit for reuse, and clean air emissions. A thermal desorber or a soil dryer can be used to efficiently vaporize the oil at low temperature.

Abstract: A system and method for oxidizing a feed material includes a reactor vessel that forms an enclosed chamber. The vessel includes a port for introducing the feed material into the chamber where it can be oxidized to create salts and particulates, together with a fluid effluent. After their creation, the salts and particulates flow into a brine pool maintained within the chamber. Thereafter, brine, including salts and particulates, can be removed from the chamber through a vessel outlet. Further, the vessel includes a fluid effluent discharge pipe extending from outside the vessel, through the brine pool, into the chamber. As a result of this structure, the fluid effluent can be separated from the salts and particulates and discharged from the chamber through the pipe, passing through the brine pool.

Abstract: A digester processes animal waste and other organic matter by accelerating the natural bacterial process of digestion. This is achieved by constructing a system that mimics the natural physical dimensions and properties of a mammal's digestive tract and then accelerates the process through the selective breeding of aggressive bacteria to promote the digestion. Examples of suitable waste include but are by no means limited to animal waste, industrial waste, spent barley, kitchen waste and the like.
