The pole component assembly for a circuit breaker includes an external insulating housing made by injecting resin into a housing mold, applying injection pressure to mold the injected resin, and separating the molded resin from the housing mold, and a circuit breaker portion assembly detachably inserted into the external insulating housing after the external insulating housing is made. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, the external insulating housing is molded without a main circuit breaker component when manufacturing a sealed type pole component, and the main circuit breaker component is assembled into the finished external insulating housing, thereby preventing the main circuit breaker component from being contaminated or damaged.

    Abstract: A vacuum switch comprises a first vacuum container containing therein a circuit breaker, a second vacuum container containing therein the first vacuum container and grounded, and a third vacuum container connected to the second vacuum container, containing therein a disconnecting switch and an earth device and grounded. The second and third vacuum containers are isolated in vacuum from the first vacuum container, and the second vacuum container is electrically insulated from the first vacuum container. The second vacuum container contains an insulator fixed to a conductor connected to the circuit breaker and a movable rod partially disposed out of the vacuum containers and operating the circuit breaker to open and close. The disconnecting switch, circuit breaker and the insulator are arranged in a line. A vacuum switchgear comprises the above-mentioned vacuum switches of the number corresponding to three phases and necessary components, each being contained in a metal box.

    Abstract: A group operated circuit disconnect apparatus for overhead electrical power lines includes an operator controlling a plurality of disconnect switches. Each disconnect switch includes a vacuum circuit interrupter mounted inside an insulating bushing. Current is transferred from a terminal pad through the vacuum circuit interrupter to a vacuum terminal pad by attaching a silver-plated contact nut to a movable contact end of the vacuum circuit interrupter and using a rocker type contact assembly to connect the contact nut to the vacuum terminal pad. A rotating insulator of the disconnect switch drives a make/break mechanism that opens and closes the contacts inside the vacuum circuit interrupter. The rotating insulator turns a frame assembly so that an appropriate point in operation a trip point is reached and springs quickly rotate an actuator assembly driving the movable vacuum contacts at a high speed to the open or close position.

    Abstract: An actuator mechanism that decreases the time needed to move the contacts of a circuit interrupter between a closed circuit position and an open circuit position to reduce the probability of the occurrence of restrikes. The actuator mechanism uses a toggle spring arrangement that uses a single spring to move the interrupter through both an opening stroke and a closing stroke. The interrupter is designed to connect to the circuit in parallel, so that the interrupter is not normally in the circuit when the circuit is closed. Because the interrupter is not normally in the circuit, it can be manufactured to less stringent standards than those that apply to electrical components that normally remain in the circuit. The interrupter is well adapted for use as a puffer-type interrupter in which the contacts of the interrupter are contained in an arc-extinguishing gas, such as sulphur-hexaflouride (SF6) gas to further reduce the probability of restrikes and to minimize the effect of occurring restrikes.
