Externally Adjustable Plug Or Gasket Patents (Class 220/233)
  • Patent number: 11772850
Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments of containers, caps, sealing assemblies, and associated components. In one embodiments, a sealing assembly can include an expander actuator operatively coupled to an expander, which expander is operatively coupled to a seal. In a locking state, the expander actuator is configured to cause the expander to expand horizontally against the seal. The expansion of the seal against a shoulder and/or a neck of a container provides a locking, leak-proof seal. In an opening state, the expander is configured to provide an upward movement of the expander actuator, allowing the expander to return to its unexpanded form, which in turn causes the seal to return to its unexpanded form. When the seal is in its unexpanded form, the sealing assembly (along with an associated cap) can be pulled away from the container body.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a hydraulic plug includes providing a shell comprising a circumferential wall, a sealed end, an open end and a cylindrical cavity opening to the open end is provided. The open end of the shell is wider externally than the sealed end. A head of an expander is inserted into the cavity. The head of the expander has a convex contact surface which is rounded in an axial direction (A) of the cavity. A region of the shell adjacent its open end is plastically deformed causing material from the circumferential wall of the shell to be displaced radially inward around the head of the expander to form a constricted opening retaining the expander within the cavity. • Patent number: 7628288
Abstract: A lid for a container comprises a groove for engagement with a rim of the container. The dimensions of the lid may be reduced sufficiently that the groove can be disengaged from the rim of the container without the use of a tool. An elastomeric section is moulded between two polypropylene sections such that when the recesses are squeezed together, the elastomeric section deforms and thereby allows a sufficient reduction in the diameter of the lid that the lid can be removed from the container without the use of a tool. A catch may be provided across the elastomeric section such that when the catch is in the closed position, the elastomeric section is prevented from deforming and the lid cannot be easily removed from the container.

The double walled collecting tank has fill openings in its outer wall adjacent its bottom which are normally closed by removable plugs. The plugs are removed to enable hot water to enter the space between the double walls when the tank is submerged into the hot water bath, then replaced when the tank is emptied. Closable vent openings provided adjacent the top of the outer wall are opened to permit rapid filling and emptying the air space between the double walls, and closed when the tank is emptied.
