  • Patent number: 9016497
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for forming a package by moulding a cardboard blank in such a manner that a margin area (2) of the blank, surrounding a middle portion (1) of the blank, is bent upwards to form side walls of the package while the middle portion forms a bottom of the package. The cardboard blank prior to moulding is provided with at least one area (4) of reduced bending stiffness being located in a transition zone (3) between the side walls and the bottom. The package is moulded from the blank so that the at least one area (4) of reduced bending stiffness is located in the bended areas between the side walls and the bottom and extend in the running direction of the bend. The invention further relates to a package and a package blank that can be used for forming said package.

  • Patent number: 8997992
Abstract: The invention relates to a package for flowable goods, in particular liquid, viscous and/or granular comestibles, such as baby food, pudding, sauce, oatmeal or the like. The package comprises a shallow tray and a cover which in closed condition slants towards a bottom wall of the tray thereby providing the package with a substantially wedge-shaped appearance. The package furthermore comprises two support faces to stand on alternately. A first support face is located at the bottom wall of the tray and a second support face is located at a bottom-surrounding wall of the tray, at the higher end of the wedge. During use, the package can be positioned on its second support face for presentation purposes, on its first support face for consumption purposes. During transport, pairs of packages may placed with their slanting covers against each other, in opposite lengthwise direction so that a high end of a wedge-shaped first package borders a low end of a wedge-shaped second package.

Abstract: A plastic container is provided having a sidewall, a downwardly extending upper lip, and a perforated line defined at a top edge of the container where the lip and sidewall are joined. The sidewall and lip may be formed from a container body constructed of a single sheet of material that is wrapped such that marginal edge portions of the blank are brought together in overlapping fashion to form a side seam. When the sidewall and lip are formed from such a blank of material, the perforated line is formed a specified distance below a top edge of such blank. The perforated line reduces the amount of force, heat and lubricant required in order to form (e.g., curl, roll, fold or bend) the upper lip of the container. The slits of the perforated line may extend across a width of the blank in either a uniform or variable fashion.

Abstract: A new profile of the internal neck that, instead of being simply cylindrical, presents an internal ring in proximity to, and at the height of, the support ledge plain and to which corresponds a specific profile in the area under the support ledge. These profiles allows a ring to be created of different shapes and geometries (SWERVE SHAPE) using the internal material between the support ledge and the area under the support ledge, thereby re-enforcing the neck and avoiding oval formation (creating problems with sealing and loss of content) as well as deformation of the support ledge during the blowing process, without impacting weight reduction. This invention allows for ultra-light containers with good physical-mechanical behavior. A further reduction of the width(s) using present technologies is not permissible due to insufficient radial rigidity. This present invention permits the light-weighting of various types of containers of different prime materials.

The mould cavity and the mould insert are combined to form a body-forming space and a flange-forming space. The flange-forming space surrounds an end surface of the body-forming space. The mould can feed air into a flange-forming space by an air-supplying pipe and a material-overflowing space during the injection molding of the mould, thereby forming a finished product of the plastic container having a hollow-shaped flange. The structure of the plastic container includes a body and a flange having a closed hollow portion. The plastic container has a better structure strength.

Abstract: A container for carry out heated food items, such as rotisserie chicken, has a base which is connected to a lid by a mating peripheral closure which defines a liquid tight seal. The closure has an encircling inclined wall on the base, which helps to direct the lid into engagement with the base, and which also defines a cavity within the closure which can retain liquid. The base may be provided with two fold up straps which are retained by structure in the lid to lie generally flat to serve as a convenient carrying handle above the lid. The base has rib structure allowing it to distend downwardly when loaded with food to space the heated food from the customer's hand while engaged with the handle.

Abstract: This invention relates to the preform to produce a plastic container for packaging foodstuffs, and especially to blow mould thin-walled containers which can be hermetically closed with a metal lid by double seaming. The preform (1) includes a body (4) and a convex hemispherical bottom (6). The body (4) has a conical shape that flares towards a cylindrical neck (2) surrounded by a flange (3) that terminates in a thickened rim (5). Preferably, the angle (?) at which the internal body surface (4) flares towards the cylindrical neck is greater than the angle (?) at which the external body surface (4) opens upwards, and the thickness (g2) of the cylindrical neck (2) is less than the thickness (g3) of the bottom (6).

Abstract: Known tank flanges have a main filter which has a filter housing with an inlet and an outlet, and a first connecting duct for connecting the main filter to a feed unit. The filter housing is integrated in the tank flange, and filter fabric is inserted into the filter housing and the filter housing is closed off by a filter cover. The inlet of the filter housing is connected to the pressure side of a feed unit and the outlet leads to an internal combustion engine. A disadvantage is that, in order to exchange the filter fabric, the large-area filter cover must be opened, as a result of which a large amount of fuel vapor is dissipated to the atmosphere. In the case of the tank flange according to the invention, the exchangeability of the main filter is simplified by virtue of the main filter being embodied as a filter cartridge. It is provided according to the invention that the inlet of the main filter extends into the first connecting duct of the tank flange and therein forms a sealed connection.
