Abstract: An embodiment relates to a trash collection device comprising a trash receptacle with a unique identification and an opening to receive a class of trash; an identification scanner for recognizing a user; a trash item counter; a fill level sensor; a display configured to interact with the user; a compactor; a solar panel configured to charge a battery; a data communicator configured to communicate date to a cloud storage; a processor configured to generate incentive for the user; wherein the trash collection device is configured to be modular and configurable to connect with another similar trash collection device to enable to collect additional trash class and is configured to interact with each other through a common software. The device, method and system are further used to generate recycling analytics by using the stored data to provide incentives to users and to facilitate planning of downstream operations.

Abstract: A receiving bin for a sorting machine is movable between an operative configuration and an inoperative configuration. In the operative configuration, the receiving bin is configurable for receiving a rejected product from the sorting machine. In an inoperative configuration, the receiving bin is configurable for servicing and maintenance. The receiving bin has an inlet chute, a transfer chute, and, optionally, a mechanism of altering the configuration connects the inlet chute and the transfer chute. In one arrangement, the inlet chute and the transfer chute are sufficiently exposed to a waterjet during a cleaning event, for maintaining aseptic conditions and a hygienic environment. This is especially useful the sorting machine is commissioned in a production plant where food items such as meat, fish, or dairy products are processed and packaged.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to apparatus including a container having an open top end, a closed bottom end, and a sidewall. The apparatus also includes a divider disposed within the container forming a first chamber and a second chamber isolated from the first, and a lid movably secured relative to the open top end of the container such that upon moving from a first closed position to a second open position at least one of the first or second chamber is accessible.

Abstract: The present disclosure includes a commercial waste system including a commercial waste container and a commercial waste vehicle. The waste container includes an interior volume that may be divided by a container divider into at least two container chambers, to collect waste and/or other multiple types of recoverable (recyclable) materials without comingling. Additionally, the rear loading waste vehicle includes a hopper divider and a storage divider, such that collection of the multiple types of waste from the divided container does not comingle the collected materials.

Abstract: A recycling cart disposed on a wheeled platform. A trash can for non-recyclable trash and a green-colored bin for compostable materials are removably disposed on the platform. A shelf storage unit permanently disposed on the platform includes a divider separating upper and lower compartments. An upper recycle box within the upper compartment receives recyclable plastics, while a lower recycle box within the lower compartment receives recyclable cardboard and paper. An upper compartmentalized unit on a front side of shelf storage unit receives small recyclable items such as batteries, cartridges, and certain types of lights. An external handle is attached to the shelf storage unit. A storage area for recyclable broken down cardboard is defined by a gap between a vertical support plate on a rear end of the recycling cart and the shelf storage unit.

Abstract: Waste container including a base defining a waste-receiving compartment, a lid movably attached to the base and movable between a first position covering a waste insertion opening and a second position in which it does not obstruct the waste insertion opening and a support portion including an aperture through which a bag is placed into the compartment. An obstruction mechanism includes an actuator and an obstruction member having at least one part that selectively engages with the bag at a location below the support portion. The actuator is manually and/or automatically rotatable to cause rotation of the obstruction member between a first position in which the obstruction member is in a first plane not obstructing insertion of waste into the bag and a second position in which the obstruction member is in a second plane obstructing insertion of waste into the bag.

Abstract: A portable carousel assembly for storing and facilitating access to medicine containers, such as plastic bottles commonly used for prescription or over-the-counter medications. Each medicine bottle is housed in a station that includes an aperture formed in a top plate of a rotatable receptacle. The rotatable receptacle is coupled to a stationary base. An ejection mechanism, such as a lever, cam track or ramp is operable to partially eject a selected medicine bottle from the receptacle so that it can be viewed or removed from the receptacle. The medicine bottle is maintained in the partially ejected condition by grasping means, such as flaps, gaskets, or webbing, or by operation of the cam track or ramp, so that the user need only use one hand to operate the carousel assembly and remove the medicine bottle.

Abstract: A dual bin waste receptacle is disclosed having a bin assembly comprised of a pair of bins sharing a single divider between them. The bins are waterproof and leak proof. The tops of each respective bin has a continuous rim that a trash liner may be folded over. A complementary dual lid assembly is also provided that snaps onto the bin assembly thereby pinching both of the trash liners. The lid assembly is hinged in the middle, essentially over the divider that allows access to and trash liner removal from each side independently.

Abstract: A container lid opener and storage device providing storage for a plurality of wheeled containers that have hinged lids. The containers used for separating different types of household waste are pushed into the device where each container lid is coupled to a single outer lid. The connecting tether assembly provides access for attaching and detaching the container lids when the single outer lid is in a closed position. The tethers are semi flexible providing sufficient slack for attaching a dethatching in addition to a maximum container lid open angle relevant to the respective outer lid open angle positioning. A single foot pedal is used to simultaneously open and close multiple containers while having the use of both hands for depositing sorted items.

Abstract: A refuse receptacle system comprising a frame and a plurality of refuse containers supported by the frame is provided. Each of the refuse containers have a receptacle and a complimentary lid reciprocally movable with respect to the receptacle. The receptacle of each of the containers is supported by the frame and is disposed at an angle in a range from about 10 to about 20 degrees from a vertical axis. A plurality of linkages are associated with the frame, whereby each linkage is coupled to the complimentary lid of one of the containers and is configured for reciprocation of the complementary lid between an open position and a closed position with respect to the receptacle.

The divider member is axially receivable within the waste container and includes an upper surface which defines a plane, and a pair of opposed upper side portions. In operation, the retention member is disposed below the plane of the upper surface of the divider member.

Abstract: A device for the collection of articles, such as waste, dirty laundry and the like, has a carrying frame with several cutouts, into which can be inserted in each case a bag-like receptacle produced from a plastic film, from a textile fabric, from paper or the like. The receptacles are fastenable to the carrying frame. The carrying frame is formed all-round, at the edgings surrounding the cutouts, with a clamping contour in the form of projecting strips, grooves, or the like, into which frame-shaped or ring-shaped, elastically deformable holding shackles assigned to the bag-like receptacles and at least virtually closed on themselves can be inserted. The upper edges of the bag-like receptacles can be clamped between the holding shackles and the clamping contour on the carrying frame.

Abstract: A revolveable laundry hamper for individually storing laundry in a plurality of chambers into which garments and items requiring laundering can be separated according to wash cycle required. The laundry hamper consists of a box-like structure having four side doors with fasteners on each door and the underside of the structure to hold a laundry bag open. The entire structure is mounted on a turntable to be rotated to select the appropriate laundry bag for the item to be washed.

At least one transparent layer mounted to the front panel cooperates therewith to define a pocket therebetween for removable emplacement of advertising media therewithin. The device is attachable to a post or other stanchion. In an alternate embodiment, the device is unitary in construction, a hinged top wall provides access to the interior, and multiple removable canisters in the interior enable separable depositing of different sorts of waste thereinto to increase ease of recycling. In the alternate embodiment, at least one divider may be used to separate the interior into multiple compartments.

The synchronization mechanism assembly comprises a motor having a spindle, a drive gear mounted on the spindle of the motor, a toothed piece of the garbage holder, a transmission gear engaged with the drive gear and a toothed piece of the cover, and a control chip for controlling the operation of the motor. As the motor is started, the drive gear is actuated to turn so as to drive the garbage holder via the toothed piece of the garbage holder. The transmission gear is also driven by the drive gear in motion such that the cover is driven by the transmission gear via the toothed piece of the cover.

Abstract: A bin carrier attachment is provided for a portable waste container. The attachment includes a mounting member adapted for securing the attachment to the waste container. A bin support member is attached to the mounting member, and is adapted for supporting a separate bin used for containing articles outside of the waste container. The waste container and bin are movable together in a single trip between a storage site and a waste collection site.

Abstract: A segregated waste collection system for collecting segregated waste from a distant location and moving the collected segregated waste to a centralized collection station, while maintaining the segregated state of the waste. The segregated waste collection system comprises a waste container, a transfer container, and a collection vehicle, each of which has corresponding compartments for storing the segregated waste. The waste from the waste container is transferred to the transfer container and is then transferred to the collection vehicle. A deflector on the transfer container aligned with the transfer container divider and operable between a fill position and a dump position. In the fill position, the divider deflects the waste container contents from the waste compartments into the corresponding transfer compartments. In the dump position, the deflector deflects the contents from the transfer compartments into the corresponding storage compartments.

Abstract: A recycling bin designed to accept different materials, the bin having a base, a rear wall, a front wall, a pair of side walls and a cover, a plurality of containers being mounted in the recycling bin, locating means for separating each container from an adjacent container and maintaining each container in a desired position, flap means located within an upper portion of the front wall to provide access to an upper portion of each of the containers, and said back wall being hinged along a bottom edge to thereby provide access to the containers. The front and back walls are preferably arranged to accept information display panels such as advertising and which panels can only be accessed upon the unlocking of the recycling bin.

Abstract: The collection of household refuse using multichamber refuse containers poses problems if automatic container grippers are used since the section lids of the container can no longer be opened manually before the container is tipped into the vehicle. In particular in the case of multichamber refuse containers having a partition which is attached perpendicularly to the axis of rotation of the container lid in the container, there is the risk that as the refuse is being tipped into the vehicle, the section lids of the container will collide with the partition of the vehicle and therefore will not open completely. The patent specification proposes various means, such as changing the geometry of the axis of rotation of the section lids, or curved control means attached to the refuse container.

Abstract: A container for sorting and storing items to be laundered is described. The container comprises two lower compartments for storing bulkier items and two inner compartments arranged to pivot within the container from a position wherein the inner compartment(s) are within the container to an outward position wherein the inner compartment(s) are outward of the container. Furthermore, the inner compartments are arranged to accept one or more rigid inserts therein. In operation, items to be laundered together are deposited into the desired rigid insert(s). When laundry day arrives, the rigid insert(s) are removed from the inner compartment(s) of the container and emptied directly into the washing machine. As the items to be laundered have already been sorted, the time and effort required to do the laundry is significantly decreased.

Abstract: A multi-compartment container includes a partition member located in the container a pair of lids pivotally attached to the partition member. Each lid includes a pair of integrally molded hinge arms and one or more integrally molded cantilevered hinge pins extends laterally from each of the hinge arms of each lid along a common pivot axis. Spaced sockets are formed in the partition member for pivotally receiving the cantilevered hinge pins of each lid. Some of the hinge pins of each lid have a beveled end surface, and the partition member has a beveled surface adjacent some of the sockets complementary to the hinge pin beveled end surfaces. With this arrangement, each of the lids can be installed on the container by aligning the beveled surfaces of the pins and partition wall, and forcing the hinge pins in a camming action along the beveled surfaces until the hinge pins snap into their respective sockets.

Abstract: A receptacle assembly where garbage can be sorted for purposes of recycling. The receptacle assembly includes a main housing that is symmetrically disposed around a central vertical axis. A plurality of internal walls are disposed within the main housing that radially extend from the central axis. The internal walls create compartments within the housing. Doors are disposed within the housing. Each door provides access to one of the compartments within the housing. A plurality of containers are provided, wherein each of the containers is sized to fit within one of the compartments through the door openings. Access openings are disposed either in the lid of the receptacle assembly or in the side surfaces of the main housing. In this manner, different materials can be disposed of in the different compartments of the assembly.

Abstract: A wastebasket has a divider for dividing it into several sections for holding different kinds of trash for recycling. The wastebasket has a rim, notches in the rim, and a bag support member which, together, support a bag in each section of the wastebasket. For use in emptying trash from each section, the wastebasket has a removable lid which covers all but one section at a time.

Abstract: A waste container having a hingedly mounted lid that can be moved between a closed position for covering the container to an open position for providing access to the container. The lid is provided with a groove spaced from the hinge so that when the lid is rotated from the closed position to the open position, any moisture on the lid will flow into the groove where it is directed off of the lid instead of onto the hinge or into the waste container.

Abstract: A composter capable of being formed from a number of moulded components which allows top filling and bottom removal of materials to be composted and composted materials respectively. A feature of the invention is the provision in major components of a ledge or the like form which supports the material to be composted at a variety of different heights in the assembly and which allows the serial cascading down of the materials as more material is loaded and/or as the material composts. Provision is made for closing the top and bottom of the component assembly. The major components are preferably rotationally moulded in a suitable plastics material and the arrangement is such that a full set of components are preferably compactable into a nested form.

Abstract: A partitioned collection container including a central compartment and two lateral compartments is described herein. A first lid is pivotally mounted to close the central compartment and third and second lids are pivotally mounted to respectively close the two lateral compartments. A lid locking mechanism is provided. The lid locking mechanism has two positions. In a first position, the lid locking mechanism allows the first lid to open while preventing the second and third lids from opening. Conversely, in a second position, the lid locking mechanism allows the second and third lid to open while preventing the first lids from opening.

Abstract: A compost and dry storage enclosure apparatus for use as a subassembly for a pull out base cabinet is shown. The apparatus includes a housing having a generally planar support with an opening of a predetermined shape and cross-sectional area and a circumferential edge around the opening The apparatus preferably includes first container which is formed of a material substantially impervious to moisture for receiving and storing material containing a high level of moisture for use in a compost mixture. The first container further includes a removable cover to form a removable fluid tight seal to contain the moisture and odor of the stored material containing moisture within the first container. The first container is located at a first predetermined position within the opening in the housing and is supported therein by the circumferential edge. The apparatus also includes a second container which is formed of a material for receiving and storing material containing a low level of moisture.

Abstract: A system designed the efficient separation, storage, loading, unloading and transportation of recyclable materials such as paper, glass, tin cans, plastic containers, aluminum containers, etc. The major component of the system is a container that is generally box-shaped to allow the containers to be closely stacked in rows. Each container has a slot in the top edge to provide for support of the container on a collection rail bar and support frame system which allows the containers to be efficiently grouped together and thereby provide storage for all classes of materials recycled at a single geographical location. The collection rail system of the invention can be economically adapted to many different types of stationary or motorized transport systems, enabling them to become recyclable material collections systems.

Abstract: A method for unloading refuse contained in a container having a bottom discharge door into an interior of a storage body of a refuse collection vehicle having an access opening includes the steps of raising the container above the access opening of the storage body, lowering the container through the access opening to position the bottom discharge door within the interior of the storage body and opening the discharge door to unload refuse from the container into the interior of the storage body. A refuse collection vehicle includes a storage body, an intermediate container and a lift. The storage body has a plurality of walls defining an interior and an access opening. The intermediate container is movably supported adjacent to the storage body and includes a top opening, a bottom, a plurality of walls therebetween defining an interior and a discharge opening adjacent the bottom and at least one door adjacent the bottom for selectively opening and closing the discharge opening.

The plurality of separate compartments are formed by placing a plurality of insertable dividers into the trash can. Abstract: A refuse collection and recycling apparatus for primary household use for the purpose of collecting, separating and recycling refuse such as paper, plastics, cans, bottles and food, generated in the home, stores, and offices by means of a sample operation using a device of simple construction. The refuse collection and recycling apparatus will generally comprise a chute for discarding refuse. The front end and bottom end of the chute has an opening and inner and outer surfaces. The apparatus also contains a hollow housing having an opening in its top end and a back door. The hollow housing is attached to the bottom end of the chute in such a way that the openings in the bottom end of the chute and top end of the hollow housing are aligned directly over one another. The apparatus further contains a removable hollow caddy which is positioned inside the hollow area of the housing when the back door is open.
