  • Patent number: 7823758
Abstract: A vee shaped open-armed folding hanger (10) for an improved method of drying and storing watersport garments (20, 22, & 25). Current hangers support all the weight of the garments on the shoulders or shoulder straps causing damage to the garment. This hanger minimizes the stress on a garment (20) by supporting its mid-section from an open horizontal arm (14). By providing two steeply angled arms, bootie posts (12b), to hold booties (22) and glove lanyard (24) for gloves (25), all garments are kept on one hanger. When not in use it is folded to conceal the hook, eliminating the potential to inflict damage to a garment when packed together for travel. In the open position, the rotated vee shape provides more vertical reach than other designs; increasing the hanger's versatility. The addition of an auxiliary swivel hook (27) provides even more versatility in suspending the hanger.

The hanger rolls with ease along the hanger rod 16 making the task of moving heavy clothing 18, such as coats, easy. The rollers 14 can be constructed from a variety of materials and can be of a variety of colors. The rollers can be held captive to the hook portion of the hanger 12 by a hook-shaped roller stop 24 at one distal end and the wrapping of the wire hanger at the other end 28 or by bonding the first and last bead to the hanger.

  • Patent number: 7299957
Abstract: An article hanger including a body having at least one clamp. The clamp has first and second jaw members with opposed first and second gripping pads, respectively. The first gripping pad includes a first gripping surface that has a relief structure formed by projections that have a depth between 0.01 mm and 0.5 mm (and most preferably between 0.01 mm and 0.25 mm). The second gripping pad includes a second gripping surface that is substantially smooth. The projections of the relief structure may have pointed ends or planar end surfaces, and may be part of a texture or pattern (e.g., a pattern of cross-hatched grooves) that is imparted to the first gripping surface. The gripping pads of the jaw members are integrally formed therewith preferably with the same thermoplastic material or other suitable material. In the preferred embodiment, the hanger body is integrally formed together with at least one jaw member of the clamp(s) and its gripping pad.

  • Patent number: 7290686
Abstract: A clothes-hanging apparatus is made of a wire formed into an upwardly extending hanger contiguous with a downwardly extending pair of sloping shoulders, the shoulders each contiguous with one of a pair of separate collinear horizontal legs, the horizontal legs terminating in an adjacent, close-abutting relationship. A strengthening web is formed on and between critical portions of the shoulders and the legs for rigidizing the apparatus. An element is used to support or connect the legs so they may be parted or joined as desired for placement and removal of a garment.

Abstract: A garment hanger has a body 1 with a longitudinal axis. A movable first arm 2 is slidably mounted on the body for free movement with respect to the body substantially along the longitudinal axis. A constant or decreasing force spring 4 applies a resilient force to the first arm to urge the first arm outwards of the body so that the first arm is able to move between a retracted position and an extended position relative to the body. The resilient force exerted by the garment hanger remains substantially constant or increases between a fully retracted position and a fully extended position.

Abstract: An auxiliary garment hanger for adjustably displaying, transporting and storing multiple articles of clothing. The auxiliary garment hanger is a drop loop type garment hanger comprising two parts. A first part is an elongated vertical body having a loop at one end which can be suspended from the hook of a conventional hanger. A second part is a horizontal support having fasteners for attachment to clothing and an integrated latching mechanism which allows the horizontal support to be affixed to the elongated vertical body at varying heights relative to the conventional hanger. The latch can be easily disengaged to permit the horizontal support to be re-adjusted or removed from the elongated body and reattached to another.
