  • Patent number: 10470450
Abstract: A system and device for threading fishing line through guides mounted on a fishing rod is disclosed, along with a method for using the system or device. A shaft is supported between paired gates. The shaft has a back end to attach to a fishing line. A carrier assembly is configured to hold the paired gates, and to permit mounted guides to pass between open paired gates while being threaded with the fishing line by the shaft, as the shaft is being fixedly retained between other paired gates. A funneling channel of an end cap module is attached to the carrier assembly near the front end of the shaft. While passing the carrier assembly over each of the mounted guides, the funneling channel funnels each of the mounted guides to encircle the front end of the shaft, thereby threading the mounted guides with fishing line.

  • Patent number: 5165582
Abstract: A length of a flexible material such as a monofilament nylon is folded back on itself to form a loop and an elongated guide portion. The ends and portions of the flexible material adjacent the ends are fastened together. The trailing end portion of the loop is crimped so that when the loop is flattened, it folds at the crimp. A sewing thread that has been introduced into the loop is retained as it is drawn through the narrow passages of a serger sewing machine.

  • Patent number: 5148759
Abstract: An apparatus for threading a needle used in a sewing machine that forms a longitudinal seam in a tie. The needle has an open hook and a shank adjacent its pointed end. A thread gripper movable about two mutually perpendicular axes grips and loops the thread at least partially around the shank of the needle. The thread is received or threaded upon a retracting movement of the needle. In an alternative embodiment, a tined fork loops the thread about the needle.

  • Patent number: 5040708
Abstract: A caddy for needle punch needles, a needle threader and spools of threads including a base, a backwall secured to one end of the bases and rising upwardly therefrom, a plurality of receptacles in the backwall for receiving needle punch tools, such as needles and the like, a plurality of vertically arranged rods secured to the base for receiving spools of thread, and a needle threader receptacle secured to the backwall, said receptacle so formed that when the needle threader is inserted thereinto, the body of the needle threader is caused to bend slightly along its length to create a biasing force between the receptacle and the needle threader thereby preventing free relative movement between the needle threader and the receptacle.

  • Patent number: 4930871
Abstract: A needle threader for facilitating the insertion of an end of a thread in the eye of a needle. In one embodiment the threader has a magnifying lens mounted in a holder which is secured to a flexible mount having a ring portion for a person's finger and a wax holder for holding wax to be applied to the end of the thread. In another embodiment such a threader has a colored background contrast member for making it easier to see the thread. This contrast member can be secured to the lens holder or to the flexible mount. In another embodiment a needle threader is provided which has a magnifying lens with a holder and a backgound contrast member. A background contrast member for a magnifying lens is also provided.

  • Patent number: 4911341
Abstract: A needle threading device includes a rectangular block housing including a chamber at a lower end thereof which opens through a side wall. A needle receiving bore extends through a top wall of the housing for receiving a needle; and a V-shaped recess at the lower end of the needle receiving bore aligns the needle with a predetermined orientation. A thread receiving notch in the housing adjacent to the needle receiving bore receives a thread to be inserted through an eye of the needle when the needle is in the needle receiving bore. An actuator is slidably positioned in the chamber for pushing the thread in the thread receiving notch through the eye of the needle in the needle receiving bore.

  • Patent number: 4832240
Abstract: A needle threader for needlecraft needles has a notch to retain a needle in position on the threader while thread is passed through the eye in the needle threader. The notch may be used in conjunction with shoulders utilized as stops for the needle, or may be used with the more conventional threader. The notch for retaining the needle allows easier threading because the threader with the needle can be held with one hand while the thread is manipulated with the other.
