Game Carrier Other Than Stringer Patents (Class 224/921)
  • Patent number: 11785936
Abstract: An apparatus for carrying harvested game animals is includes a rod that is sufficiently sized and shaped to be insertable into the bore of a firearm barrel. A stopper portion of the apparatus is operatively connected to the rod and has a width that is wider than the bore to thereby limit insertion of the rod into the bore. A cord is mounted to the rod and stopper such that, when the rod is inside the bore of the barrel, the cord is outside the bore. A method of using the apparatus includes securing the cord to a harvested animal, inserting the rod into the bore of a firearm, and supporting the firearm on a shoulder to facilitate carrying the animal.

  • Patent number: 9930882
Abstract: A turkey carrier and method of manufacture of a turkey carrier are described. The turkey carrier may be assembled from a single strip of material, a buckle, and a strip of comfortable padding. The assembled turkey carrier comprises two loops (a small loop and a large padded adjustable loop) and an intermediate area. During use, the intermediate area between the small loop and the large loop of the carrier is positioned under the turkey's legs, typically above the spurs of a male turkey, so that the two loops are on opposite sides of the turkey's legs and the larger loop is inserted through the smaller loop and pulled tight to secure the legs leaving the larger padded loop to be used as a wrist strap. The carrier is designed to tightly secure the turkey's legs while simultaneously providing the user with a comfortable method of transporting the turkey.

  • Patent number: 7547024
Abstract: An apparatus for removing the carcass of a slain large game animal, such as a deer, from the woods includes a polymer sheet that is placed beneath the carcass of the slain animal to reduce frictional forces associated with the dragging of the animal through the woods. The polymer sheet is formed with eyelets to permit the attachment of straps to fix the carcass to the top surface of the sheet. The polymer sheet can be rolled for storage in a quiver having caps screwed onto each opposing end thereof. When the sheet is to be utilized, the quiver is placed at the front edge of the sheet to stiffen and round the front edge so as to form a toboggan. A handle can be passed through the opened quiver to permit the apparatus to be dragged through the woods with a minimal amount of effort.

  • Publication number: 20020108978
Abstract: The invention is a specialized carrier for a wild turkey taken by a hunter. After shooting the wild turkey, the hunter simply removes the carrier from his pocket, fastens the carrier to the neck and feet of the turkey and then places the carrier over the shoulder to transport the turkey. The wild turkey is a heavy bulky bird and when carried in the traditional arm over shoulder position, the hunter can experience discomfort to the arm. This discomfort to the arm will require the hunter to take frequent rest stops if carrying the turkey long distances. The wild turkey carrier solves this problem by placing the weight of the turkey on the hunter's shoulder. The wild turkey carrier functions similar to the use of a shoulder strap on a heavy carry bag where the shoulder strap is the wild turkey carrier and the carry bag is the wild turkey. This simple concept allows the hunter to use both hands to safely carry a gun and other hunting equipment.

The pack vest includes a pair of shoulder staps connected to the top of the game pouch and a hip belt connected to the inside of the game pouch. The shoulder straps are hung over the shoulders of the hunter and the hip belt is buckled around the waist of the hunter. A pair of adjustable diagonal straps connect the respective shoulder straps to the game pouch. A sternum strap connects the shoulder straps to prevent the shoulder straps from spreading as the adjustable diagonal straps redistribute weight from the game pouch onto the front portion of the shoulder straps. • Patent number: 5467907
Abstract: The invention is a hunter's personal safety game pack and method of making it. The game pack is especially designed for the wild turkey, with a bloodproof bottom pouch, a No-See-Um mesh drawstring bag top, and a shoulder harness. The wild turkey is a large bulky bird, weighing approximately 10 kilograms. It is cumbersome and messy, a burden to carry without a game pack. Carrying a wild turkey using one hand in the traditional over-shoulder position puts the hunter in a very dangerous situation. Carrying his gun with one hand is not recommended for safe gun handling; the exposed turkey on his back invites other hunters to shoot at the turkey and possibly shoot the otherwise successful turkey hunter in the back or head. Perhaps even more important, Lyme ticks may be transferred from turkey to hunter, with risk of the disabling and sometimes fatal Lyme disease. The taken turkey must cool quickly to avoid spoilage. The No-See-Um mesh top permits cooling ventilation without permitting any ticks to pass.
