  • Publication number: 20020153403
Abstract: A shifting means for fixing and conveying a tape comprises a first head having a first surface to contact with a top of the tape, and a second head having a second surface to contact with a bottom of the tape. The first surface has a plurality of first strip-shaped projections thereon, and the second surface has a plurality of second strip-shaped projections thereon, such that the top surface of first striped-shaped projection is parallel to the first surface and the top surface of the second strip-shaped projection is parallel to the second surface. When the first head and the second head come into contact with the tape, the first strip-shaped projection is perpendicular to the second strip-shaped projection such that pressed regions of the tape which are pressed by both the first head and the second head are distributed in an array.

  • Patent number: 4675069
Abstract: A device for feeding and cutting a strip of labels, on which strip the labels are joined integral with one another along lines at least a center portion of which consists of a slit. The labels are fed successively in two stages towards a cutting position; in the first of which stages, the label, is fed forward by means of a feeding device 051570752which, positively engaging the rear edge of the label, brings it into the vicinity of the cutting position; and in the second of which stages, the cutting position of the label is regulated by means of a conveyor roller which engages the uncut label by means of suction and feeds it forward so as to cause the front edge of the following label to be brought into "gentle" impact with stop elements on a fixed cutting blade.

  • Patent number: 4462529
Abstract: A linear accelerator system for linearly advancing an electrically conductive, elongate workpiece, such as tubing, along its longitudinal axis toward a cutoff station or the like includes a helically configured electrical coils concentrically disposed around the workpiece for inducing an electromagnetic field which imposes an axial force on the workpiece. An adjustable stop assembly engages one end of the workpiece to allow selection of the length to be cut. A switch operated by the stop assembly produces a first control signal for controlling a relay which deenergizes the coil; the relay reenergizes the coil in response to a second control signal produced by another switch which senses the completion of the cutoff operation. Sleeves removably mounted on the coil to accommodate workpieces having various diameters. In lieu of the stop assembly, a length encoder may be optionally employed in combination with the accelerator or a separate retarding device to control feed length.

  • Patent number: 4333593
Abstract: In apparatus for feeding stock including a feeding slide driven for reciprocal motion within a linear path between two terminal positions by a crank mechanism, an auxiliary device is provided which periodically superimposes motion characteristics on the movement of the feeding slide caused by revolution of the crank mechanism at least in the regions of the terminal positions of the linear path of the feeding slide.
