  • Patent number: 9872722
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to an electromechanical surgical system having an end effector and an adapter assembly for selectively interconnecting the end effector and a hand-held surgical instrument. A one-wire bidirectional serial communications interface or bus extends through the end effector, the adapter assembly, and the hand-held surgical instrument. The hand-held surgical instrument includes a master circuit coupled to the bus and configured to identify or control the adapter assembly or the end effector. A power source is couplable to the bus and configured to provide power to the adapter assembly or the end effector. A first switch connects the master circuit to the bus and a second switch connects the power source to the bus. A processor controls operation of the hand-held surgical instrument. The controller has a wake-up pin connected to the bus and is configured to receive a presence pulse from the adapter or end effector.

  • Patent number: 7290693
Abstract: A cable holding assembly for cable staplers is provided, which is housed inside a slot in front of the muzzle of a cable stapler. The cable holding assembly contains a spring blade, a holder blade, and a resistance blade. The spring blade is configured on the wall of the slot to position the holder blade inside the slot but flexible enough to allow the holder blade to be removed and inserted. The holder blade is H-shaped, forming a first cable holding end and a second holding end at the top and the bottom for cables of different gauges respectively. When the holder blade is inserted into the slot, the bottom end of the resistance blade is pressed against the arched edge of the cable holding end at the top so that the other cable holding end is extended outside of the slot and the cable stapler for holding down the cable reliably.

  • Patent number: 5957362
Abstract: An apparatus for attaching rivets, buttons or the like to textiles or the like, having a plunger which performs the riveting stroke and whose upward and downward movement is controlled by the interaction of the top end of the plunger with a cam plate rotationally driven by an electric motor, the apparatus performing a sequence of attachments upon actuation of a switch or the like, the electric motor (39) running at a fixed preset angular velocity being stopped briefly in the top dead-center position of the plunger (24) by a braking device or the like in order to reduce the cycle frequency of the plunger stroke. To this end, the control unit switches off the drive motor (39) in the top dead-center position of the plunger for a preprogrammed time and switches it on again after the preprogrammed waiting time has expired and actuates a brake in particular during the waiting time.
