Interlocking Surface Constructed From Plural Elements In Series Patents (Class 24/403)
  • Patent number: 10595595
Abstract: Woven and knit substrates having juxtaposed notches with finished edges are disclosed. Such substrates can be used as opposed fastener tapes and fastener elements can be formed, woven, or otherwise added to the opposed fastener tapes in a known fashion. The notched fastener tapes permit the resulting slide fastener to be curved in-plane without buckling either of the opposed the fastener tapes out-of-plane. The finished edges maintain structural integrity of the woven or knit substrates, in stark context to prior art substrates having cut notches. Also disclosed are panelized substrates having curved apertures and incorporating disclosed slide fasteners.

  • Publication number: 20030192150
Abstract: In a Y bar for forming coupling elements, an opening angle of a pair of right and left leg parts is narrower than that of the ordinary ones. Plural bent portions, which are bent inward, are formed successively in an extending direction of the leg parts in a range from a crotch part toward pawl parts at front ends of the leg parts. The gap between the pawl parts are narrowed gradually from proximal ends to front ends thereof. Bulging portions are provided on outer side surfaces of the crotch part. Thus, the stabilization of the posture of a metallic coupling element, which is obtained by cutting the Y bar, at the time of mounting, strength of the coupling element and stabilization of the mounting posture of the coupling element to the fastener tape can be improved.

  • Publication number: 20030033695
Abstract: A method for 3-D engagement of a fastener, in which fastener teeth of two fastener strips received in different height-level within slider can be engaged together in the same plan by the siding action of slider. The present invention also discloses a separate-type fastener enabling 3-D engagement, comprising first and second fastener strip each of which has a plurality of equi-distance fastener teeth alternately arranged on each of two opposed long substrates respectively so that a plurality of projecting portions and recesses with corresponding shape, which can engage with the recesses and projecting portions of opposite strip, are formed on the side edge walls of fastener teeth on each of first and second fastener strips respectively, a slider having front and rear end wherein inlet ports at high-level and low-level are formed respectively at different heights of the front end.

  • Publication number: 20020121007
Abstract: According to the fastener chain, method and apparatus for forming ends thereof, coil-shaped fastener elements as linear fastener elements are attached and sewed to side edge portions of a pair of fastener tapes with sewing yarns as fixing yarns while a core thread is inserted through the fastener elements. The coil-shaped fastener elements are cut off at leg portions, each of which is in contact with the fastener tape, at ends of the fastener elements, so that cut end portions are formed. These cut end portions are pushed inward of the side edge portions, and then, the leg portions and inverted portions thereof are fused to the fastener tapes by heating. As a result, a form of each end of the fastener elements is stabilized, so that the resultant slide fastener is good in safety.

  • Patent number: 6343408
Abstract: The fluidtight zip fastener comprises a pair of fluidtight zip fastener carrying tapes carrying the zip fastener coupling member rows and which are in each case formed by a base tape with a soft, synthetic rubber or similar covering layer. They engage on one another by their edge portions. The pair of continuous coupling member rows is sewn to the zip fastener carrying tapes in a spaced offset position transversely to the longitudinal edges of said carrying tapes in such a way that the press-contact edge portions of the soft covering layers are in contact with one another along a longitudinal plane, which intersects the zip fastener at a central axis thereof and runs at right angles to the zip fastener principal plane. The press-contact edge portions project over said longitudinal plane, when the coupling member rows are disengaged.

  • Patent number: 6314623
Abstract: A core cord is inserted into coil-shaped fastener elements made of thermoplastic resin, and the fastener elements are sewn onto a fastener tape by multi-thread chain stitch. Yarn mainly made of thermally meltable synthetic fiber is used for looper thread of multi-thread chain stitch, while yarn of fiber which is not or less meltable is used for needle thread. Entangling points of the looper thread and the needle thread are disposed on the core cord. The looper thread is thermally melted to form melted portions where the looper thread and the needle thread entangle with each other at the entangling points. As a result, melted portions which have become monofilamentary are formed on the fastener elements or no sewing yarn is on the fastener elements due to thermal melting. Thus, there is no fear of cutting of the sewing yarn due to sliding of a slider and the slide fastener is abrasive resistant.
