Motor Systems Patents (Class 246/221)
  • Patent number: 11081873
Abstract: A direct current motor controller includes a housing, a plurality of terminals, a first two-way switch, a second two-way switch, an actuating mechanism, and a remote controller plug. The terminals and remote controller plug traverse out of the housing as the first two-way switch, the second two-way switch, and the actuating mechanism are mounted within the housing. A first output terminal, a first power supply positive terminal, and a third power supply negative terminals from the terminals are electrically connected to the first two-way switch. A second output terminal, a second power supply positive terminal, and the third power supply negative terminal from the terminals are electrically connected to the second two-way switch. The remote controller plug is electrically connected to the second power supply positive terminal. The actuating mechanism operatively couples with the first and second two-way switches to toggle and inversely toggle the first and second two-way switches.

  • Patent number: 7070152
Abstract: A railroad switch actuator has a transversely extending box sleeper having a pair of ends, adapted to be secured to a pair of longitudinally extending fixed rolling rails, and adapted to slidably support a pair of longitudinally extending and transversely shiftable switch tongues. A switch rod extends transversely in the box sleeper, is connected to the tongues, is centered on a transverse axis, and is displaceable along the transverse axis to shift the tongues. A drive having an output shaft is supported on one end of the sleeper by a hinge for pivotal movement between a down position outboard of the one sleeper end and with the output shaft axially aligned with the switch rod and an up position between the sleeper ends.

  • Patent number: 6597137
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for transmitting a control signal to a vehicle which is driven using an electrical drive current which is fed into a traction current conductor at a drive current feed point. In order to ensure that the transmission of the control signal is very largely unaffected by interference frequency components included in the drive current, according to the invention one current sensor, which is located outside the line section, is used to receive the control signal.

  • Patent number: 6491263
Abstract: A distinct power terminal that is independently releasably fitted within a support member of the model track layout. The power terminal is coupled to an external power source through lead wires. The power terminal includes “cave-in” parts at opposing ends of the power terminal which are snap-fit into corresponding openings of the support member. The support member includes side openings to allow the lead wires to extend from the power terminal outwards to the external power source. The power terminal further includes connecting terminals that couple the electric power from the power terminal to the track rails. In addition, a rail converting switch includes two solenoid drivers with corresponding stroke axles positioned on opposing sides of a housing. The stroke axles are connected to a sliding part positioned between the stroke axles, which sliding part includes a supporting axle and connection portion for coupling to, and actuating, a rail coupler.

  • Patent number: 6082665
Abstract: A roadable aircraft capable of flying as well as road travel. The wings of the roadable aircraft are defined by inner and outer wing panels. The outer wing panels are folded with a fold mechanism that rotates each of the outer wing panels from a substantially horizontal extended flying position to a substantially vertical extended position and then folds each of the outer panels into a direction parallel to the travel direction defined by the fuselage. An operator controlled selectable drive mechanism allows the operator to select either the propeller or drive wheel to receive power from the engine shaft.

  • Patent number: 6042060
Abstract: A solar-powered, electric railroad switch stand includes a housing having a mounting mechanism for mounting a solar cell assembly for converting solar energy into electrical current, a storage battery, and a motor connected to a gear reduction mechanism having an output shaft extending therefrom. The battery stores a charge from the electrical current of the solar cells and is electrically coupled to the motor to drive a gear reduction mechanism. An operating device is linked to the output shaft and is operable to move the switching rails.

  • Patent number: 5620156
Abstract: A device for operating a switch of a railway track including switch blades. The device includes a drive module, a linear operating module coupled to and driven by the drive module for generating a linear movement and at least one locking module interconnected between the linear operating module and the switch blades. The locking module transfers the linear movement from the linear operating module to the switch blades, thereby moving the switch blades across a longitudinal direction of the railway track from a first position to a second position. The at least one locking module also locks the switch blades in the first position or the second position independently of the linear operating module. A girder box forms a sleeper of the railway track for housing the drive module, the linear operating module, and the at least one locking module. The device also includes apparatus for joining the drive module, the linear operating module, and the at least one locking module.
