  • Publication number: 20150034795
Abstract: The present invention provides a suspension and vibration isolation system having cable isolators. The cable isolators employ low-friction air-bearing pneumatic cylinders and cables to isolate a suspended payload from vibrations of a carrier or to isolate the carrier from vibrations of the payload. Using such air-lubricated cylinder to piston interfaces virtually eliminates static friction and so improves the effectiveness of the isolation for small forces and displacement. The use of pneumatic cylinders also permits the system to be tuned to the required resonance frequency to isolate the payload from vibrations in a desired frequency band.

Abstract: A device for assembly of a connecting rod on the casing of a turbo-engine including: a clevis fixed to the casing and including at least two coaxially bored lugs; a shaft traversing the bores of the lugs to which the suspension member is fixed, in a manner which is mobile in radial rotation, via a ball joint surrounding the shaft; and a connecting device which holds the shaft in place in the lugs of the clevis and is capable of being driven in rotation about the axis of the bores, is disclosed. The ball joint and the connecting device are configured such that the rotation of the connecting device about the axis of the bore of the lugs causes an offset of the axis of rotation of the connecting rod in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the bores.

Abstract: A holding device, for the holding of a component part of an exhaust system on a peripheral structure, more preferably of a vehicle equipped with the exhaust system, has a first connecting point for fastening the holding device to the component part of the exhaust system and a second connecting point for fastening the holding device to the structure. A coupling device is arranged between the connecting points which makes possible reversible relative movements between the connecting points. For improved holding function, the coupling device is configured such that in at least in one active direction the coupling device has a speed-dependent or frequency-dependent stiffness. The coupling device has a lower stiffness with slower or low-frequency relative movements than with faster or high-frequency relative movements.

A safety chain is provided in parallel connection with the springs. The length of the chain is less than the extended length of a spring at its maximum rated load, thus precluding extension of the springs to that link, greatly reducing any likelihood that the springs will break. In the event of spring breakage, the chain serves as a safety chain, stopping the tool from falling.
