  • Patent number: 8523135
Abstract: A device that facilitates the support of a post or shaft in such a way that the post is connected rigidly to a foundation or otherwise connected to a fixed position. If a condition arises that causes the post to become stressed physically the device will allow separation of the post from a mounting on the foundation or fixed position before the said post is physically damaged. The post itself may be round, square, rectangular, channel shape, or any other shape in profile. In some cases the post is the primary support for such things as roadside sign posts, signs, signals, lights, warnings, or markers, that are commonly held by the roadside in a fixed and elevated position so that they are easily visible to passing motorists, cyclists, or pedestrians. • Patent number: 8215597
Abstract: An improved construction and method of constructing a field-bendable stud-engaging tab for electrical box supports that can be formed with less tool wear and bent in the field (for example, to conform to particular electrical box depths) with less force than previously required, and when necessary, straightened and re-bent. Scores are formed in the tab during the manufacturing process by applying shear force with a punch to the sheet metal of the tab, typically by a method in which the punch is applied to a portion of the sheet metal that rests over a cavity in the die, creating a sheared edge in each score wherein the metal is at least partially fractured, said fracture coinciding with at least part of a corresponding bend line. The bend lines also comprise unscored areas. In the field, the tab can be bent and re-bent along the bend lines.

Abstract: Described is a removable assembly for use on a fixed surface. The assembly includes a post having a base (42) and an attachment assembly (8). The attachment assembly includes a base plate (10) and a magnet assembly (12), both capable of carrying a magnetic current. The magnet assembly includes a housing (20) and a magnet (22) disposed within the housing. To use, the magnet assembly is placed adjacent the base plate, the magnetic forces attracting and holding them together. The magnet is positioned apart from the base plate while the housing contacts the base plate to form the magnet circuit. An attachment plate (30) is connected to the housing upper wall adjacent its outer surface. The attachment plate includes one or more outwardly projecting attachment bolts (26). As assembled, the bolts engage corresponding openings (48) in the post base (42).

Abstract: An apparatus and method for supporting and protecting flex circuits are provided. A flex circuit cabling wallet has a first cover, a second cover, and a fold line that is coupled to the first and second covers. The first cover includes a latching mechanism. The second cover includes at least one latch tab. The latch tab is configured to create a releasable bond with the latching mechanism. When the releasable bond is engaged, the first cover, fold line area, second cover, and latch tab enclose the base of a flex circuit. In at least one embodiment, a cable fastener is also provided. The cable fastener attaches to the first cover of the flex circuit cabling wallet, thereby segregating the flex circuit from cables.

Abstract: A wall mounted shelf system comprises plural elongate bracket standards adapted for securement on a wall surface, and engaged in slots on faces of the bracket standards, plural shelf brackets support at least one shelf. Standard covers are positioned as an outer skin, in contact with opposing surfaces of the bracket standards. Apertures in the standard covers each are sized and positioned for tight-fitting around one of the shelf brackets and are open to an end edge so that the standard covers can be installed onto the bracket standards, without disassembling the brackets from the standards. In this manner, an inexpensive cover can be installed on existing shelf systems without disassembly. The butting edges of each of the covers are hidden behind the shelves so that the final appearance of the wall mounted standards may be changed in color, texture and other designer effects.

  • Patent number: 6484979
Abstract: An electrical box support is provided having a set of struts telescoping one within the other to accommodate the length for attachment to studs of different spacings. Each strut has a face suited for mounting an electrical box and has a series of inwardly directed, uniformly and relatively closely spaced detents. The detents serve both for releasably locking the length of the support and for guiding the entry of screws used to attach the box to the support. Each strut has an end tab adapted for bending to mount to the studs in a position established so that a mounted electrical box appropriately meets the surface of a wall board to be installed. Bending in a controlled straight line is accomplished by the formation of discontinuous score lines. A second embodiment of the invention is formed with two struts having end tabs and a third strut having no end tabs and engaging the other two struts. Either one or both of the struts with end tabs can be moved to change the length of the assembly.
