Abstract: A bridge decking panel and structures for attaching the panel to supporting bridge beams and to other such panels at abutting ends. An anchor plate assembly is cast within a paving material and has a pair of parallel runner bars extending along the decking panel and spaced apart by the width of a supporting bridge beam that is received between the runner bars. The runner bars are connected by cross bars and several studs extend from the runner bars into the paving material. Several nuts are welded to the runner bars at spaced intervals and aligned with holes through the runner bars for attachment to connecting structures. The connecting structures include panel to beam connecting structures that have several clamping plates extending from beneath a runner bar to beneath a portion of a bridge beam. A mating machine screw extends through a hole in each clamping plate and engages the nuts and, when tightened, clamps the anchor plate assembly, and therefore the decking panel, to the bridge beam.

Abstract: A method and system for fabricating a geometrically versatile composite lattice support structure having a seamless three-dimensional configuration. The lattice support structure is created by forming two or more cross supports, such as helical, longitudinal, circumferential and/or lateral cross supports, which intersect to form a plurality of multi-layered nodes. The lattice support structure may be designed without any protrusions extending outward from the overall geometry, thus enabling efficient tooling, and thus enabling ease of mass production. The lattice support structure may comprise a completely circumferentially closed geometry, such as a cylinder, ellipse, airfoil, etc. The method for fabricating the lattice support structure comprises laying up a fiber material, in the presence of resin, within rigid channels of a rigid mold, thus creating a green, uncured three-dimensional geometry of unconsolidated cross supports and multi-layered nodes where these intersect.

Abstract: A modular layout form has a substantially planar rear for attachment to a support structure, and a substantially planar front having a two-dimensional array of receptacles for holding objects to be embedded in a predetermined pattern in a settable material (e.g., concrete). The form includes a plurality of courses staggered with respect to one another to define a pattern of recesses and protrusions at the ends of the courses. Sets of tabs and slots on the recesses and protrusions can be used to engage complementary tabs and slots on the recesses and protrusions of an adjacent form, so that a plurality of forms can be combined by sliding adjacent forms together laterally in a common plane.

Abstract: A monopour foundation form has flexible sheet form element (20) having longitudinal edge portions (21) and a contact portion (22), with the contact portion supported directly on the ground and oriented in the direction of the foundation axis (1). Transverse wall form supports (3) supported directly on the flexible sheet form element, longitudinally spaced apart and centered over the foundation axis (1), support a wall form assembly (12) in a position above the ground. Edge portions (22, 23) of the flexible sheet form element are secured to the lower edge portions (15, 16) of the wall form assembly thereby forming a general U-shape and extending longitudinally under the wall form assembly (12). A foundation mix fills the flexible sheet form element, simultaneously forming the footing and the interior portion of the wall form assembly.

Abstract: Disclosed are apparatus and corresponding methodologies for providing a base support, such as including concrete, and used such as for a wind-driven generator. Precast concrete cylinders are stacked in place upon a platform that may be partially precast and partially cast in place during assembly and supported, in certain embodiments, by plural concrete legs, the other ends of which are supported on a unitary or subdivided concrete foundation. In other embodiments, the platform may be supported by ribbed concrete panels. The concrete cylinders are glued together using an epoxy and then secured by an internal vertical post tension system extending from the platform to the upper most cylinder. Methodologies and apparatus for fabrication of concrete structure used in constructing the base support are also disclosed, with a focus on staves and various ring piece constructions.
