  • Patent number: 11162600
Abstract: A butterfly valve includes a valve body, a stem, a disc, and a stopper. The valve body has a first through hole, a second through hole and a flange. An axial central line of the second through hole and an axial central line of the first through hole are perpendicular to each other. The flange radially extends from a surface surrounding the first through hole and extends into an inner side of the first through hole. The stem is accommodated inside the second through hole and extends into the first through hole. The disc is formed on a surface thereof with a first engaging portion while the stopper is formed with a second engaging portion. The first engaging portion and the second engaging portion are respectively embedded with a first part and a second part of the stem. The stopper is rotated by the stem and abuts against the flange when the disc closes an open end of the first through hole and continues to rotate.

  • Patent number: 7798170
Abstract: A flow setting assembly is provided to permit field adjustment of an electronically actuated flow control valve, particularly a pressure independent characterized control valve (PICCV). In a preferred form, flow can be field adjusted by using a hex tool. Therefore, the maximum flow can be increased or decreased within the valve's adjustable flow range. As with all high close-off valves that employ a ball in their design, the ball passes well into the seat when rotated to the actuator's zero-degree position. Therefore, there is an amount of travel within the first degrees of ball rotation that passes back over this seat. The flow setting assembly eliminates this excess rotation (12°) resulting in a closed position that is offset to improve control resolution and system accuracy. This offset continues to allow the high close-off rating of 200 PSI. MFT actuators electronically adjust to and maintain the 2-10 Volt control signal at the reduced angle, as well as the 100 second running time and feedback signal.

  • Patent number: 7404543
Abstract: A valve actuator is disclosed for use with short throw valves. The actuator includes a plate perpendicular to the valve stem that has a slot formed of regions having different radii of curvature centered on the valve stem. An eccentric cam is attached to a handle mounted on the valve stem. The cam extends through the slot and is rotatable for positioning at a radius corresponding to the radius of the different slot regions. When the cam is rotated so that it may traverse a slot region, the handle can be turned to move the valve closing member through an angle subtended by the slot region. This permits the valve to be opened or closed in a step-wise fashion and prevents rapid opening and closing of the valve that can cause a water hammer effect.

Abstract: A control valve assembly and for a gas delivery system is disclosed comprising a valve housing and piping combination adapted to mate with a gas meter outlet, the valve including a main inlet and an auxiliary inlet for bypassing the main inlet, and a poppet disposed within the housing for selectively opening the respective inlets and for closing both inlets. The poppet is controlled by a valve stem extending into the valve housing and coupled to the poppet, such that rotation of the valve stem orients the poppet in the predetermined positions to selectively open the respective inlets. The valve stem is rotated using a lever arm extending radially from the valve stem, where the lever arm is adapted to carry a locking member at a distal end. When the locking member is carried by the lever arm, rotation of the lever arm may be denied due to interference of the locking member with the valve housing, and the poppet in such case prevents flow through either of the inlets.

  • Patent number: 7000896
Abstract: A valve having a valve body, a rotary valve member, a valve handle, and a selectively repositionable valve handle stop member. The valve body includes first and second openings into which the stop member may be installed. The openings are provided on opposite sides of the lower end of the valve handle such that, when the stop member is installed in the first opening, the valve handle is rotated in a first direction between a first orientation, which corresponds to the valve member being full open, and a second orientation, which corresponds to the valve member being full closed. Alternatively, when the stop member is installed in the second opening, the valve handle is rotated in a second, opposite direction to move the valve member from the full open to the full closed position. When no stop member is installed, the valve member is sequentially moved from the full closed position, to the full open position, and then to the full closed position as the valve handle traverses a 180° arc.
