The carriage device is connected to object to be lifted relative the fixed surface. An actuator is connected to the blocks. As the actuator moves the blocks relative one and the other, the blocks move above the carriage device relative the fixed surface at various distances lift and lower the objects.

Abstract: A pressure adjuster for changing pressure between a plurality of opposed bodies pressed against each other includes a cam rotatable in a given direction of rotation and having a top dead center on an outer circumferential surface thereof that is distanced farthest from a rotation axis of the cam. A driver is connected to the cam to drive and rotate the cam. A cam rest contacts the cam and is connected to one of the plurality of opposed bodies. A cam regulation assembly is connected to the cam to regulate rotation of the cam at least when the top dead center of the cam passes a contact position where the cam contacts the cam rest.

Abstract: A breaching tool for use by law enforcement or emergency personnel has a curving, tapered wedge at a first end, extending approximately perpendicularly from a tool handle, and providing a striking surface for driving the wedge between a door and door frame, for example. At an opposite end is a tapered chisel tail end, preferably with a claw for pulling nails or other fasteners. The tool may include a loop handle, generally in a trapezoid configuration connected to the main tool shaft, for manipulating the tool in service.

Abstract: A hybrid wedge jack/scissor lift device for lifting heavy loads is provided, the device having a horizontally-oriented actuator coupled to a wedge that acts on lower and upper rollers coupled to a scissor lift. In operation, the actuator can drive the wedge in between the rollers, spreading them apart to raise the scissor lift. When the actuator retracts, the wedge is removed and the scissor lift collapses under the weight of the load. The wedge can be shaped in such a way that the lift has one or more intrinsically safe positions in which the rollers on the scissor lift fit into seats on the wedge, preventing the scissor lift from collapsing in the event of an actuator failure. An optional restraint bar safety mechanism is also provided.

Abstract: A device for loosening and untying knots including a body having a first section and a second section having a plurality of channels, a pusher rod positioned slidably within the first section of the body, a shaft positioned slidably within the first and second sections of the body and being engaged with the rod, and a plurality of prongs, each including a base, a nose and a rail. The rails slidably fit into the channels of the body, and a head of the shaft is engaged with the bases of the prongs. The prongs move between a retracted position, in which the noses are juxtaposed with one another and inserted within a knot, and an expanded position, in which the noses are spaced apart from one another when the shaft is moved within the body, the noses loosen and untie the knot when the prongs are expanded.
