Screw Patents (Class 254/20)
  • Patent number: 10486293
Abstract: A device for extracting a cutting bit from within a securement hole in cutting equipment. The device has a base body having an open base end that contact the cutting equipment that surrounds the cutting bit. An elongated drive body having a threaded member with a threaded bore, rotatively contacts the base body, and a threaded post having a threaded portion is threaded within the threaded bore of the elongated drive body, and has a lower end extending into the base body. A pair of bit jaws are attached to the lower end of the threaded post, each having an in-turned ledge for engaging a peripheral groove of the cutting bit. By rotating the drive body, the threaded post is drawn axially upwardly, and with it the pair of bit jaws, to withdraw the cutting bit from the hole in the cutting equipment.

  • Patent number: 10485558
Abstract: A bone harvesting device may facilitate the removal of bone from a surgical site, for therapeutic or diagnostic purposes. The device may have a harvester tube, a harvester tube fitting, and a slide hammer. The harvester tube may have a proximal end, a distal end, and a hollow portion that can receive a sample of the bone and/or a plunger with a point that breaches cortical bone. The harvester tube fitting may be coupled to the proximal end of the harvester tube, and may receive impact to urge the distal end of the harvester tube into the bone. The slide hammer may translate along the harvester tube and impact the harvester tube fitting to urge removal of the proximal end from the bone. Complementary attachment features on the harvester tube fitting and the slide hammer may detachably couple the slide hammer to the harvester tube fitting.

  • Patent number: 9839999
Abstract: An embedded element pulling apparatus, the apparatus comprises a pair of linear guides separated by a width, each linear guide having a length and an inner guide surface, the inner guide surface angled to form a closing ramp at the grasping end. A jaw is paired with each linear guide; each jaw is engaged to follow along the inner guide surface. Each jaw may have an interchangeable grasping tooth. A lock assembly is integrated to lock and unlock the jaws. A carriage cooperatively couples the jaws and the lock assembly. A positioning actuator engages with the carriage to position the jaws along the length of the linear guides and a drive actuator engages with the carriage to close the jaws, pull the embedded element, and open the jaws. A motive device may drive the positioning actuator and drive actuator.

  • Patent number: 9604353
Abstract: A nail removal tool in the form of an adapter for attachment to the drive socket of a rotary driver such as a rotary pneumatic impact driver. The adapter includes a drive shaft engagable with the chuck of the pneumatic driver, a cylindrical bit with a slot for receiving the body of a nail and a ramp for engaging under the head and lifting it to dislodge the nail from its embedded location. Slop between the drive blade and the slot in the cylindrical bit serves as a flexible connection to provide proper presentation of cylindrical bit allowing wedging of the adapter beneath the head of a nail which is reluctant to be removed.

  • Patent number: 9539712
Abstract: A tool and kit for removal of a broken spark plug from a cylinder head may include first and/or second tools, and/or a supplemental tool. The first tool is designed to position a broken porcelain element into the spark plug tip so that a second tool may be utilized to engage the tip by threading into the tip and thereafter axially withdrawing the plug tip from the cylinder head into the hollow tubular member. The supplemental tool may be utilized to engage the plug wire contact of a plug with axially projecting, elastic cantilever segments and axially withdraw the attached plug contact into a hollow tubular member.

  • Patent number: 8925167
Abstract: A faucet handle removal device allows a user to repair a faucet without causing damage to the faucet's handle or stem. The device includes a body having a top wall, a bottom wall, and a perimeter wall extending between the top and bottom walls. The bottom wall and perimeter wall define an interior of the body. An interior edge of the top wall defines an access opening into the interior. A first void extends into the perimeter wall and a second void extends into the bottom wall. The first void is configured to receive the faucet handle and the second void is configured to receive the faucet stem. A screw is insertable into the access opening. The screw has a bottom end configured for positioning within a base of the handle wherein manipulation of the screw drives the screw downwardly into the handle and removes the handle from the stem.

  • Patent number: 7104343
Abstract: A rod extractor for ground drill rods having a drill rod (20) with a plurality of rod threads (23) at its upper portion, about which an extraction collar (30) with internal threads rotates slidably with said rod threads. A guide sleeve (51) having a sleeve opening is attached perpendicular to a ground plate (50) which rests on a ground surface. Said rod travels through said sleeve opening into the ground, upon which an extraction tool (40) rotates said collar about said rod resulting in downward travel of said collar in relation to said rod and sleeve until said collar contacts said sleeve. Further rotation of said collar results in upward force upon said rod, extracting it from the ground.
