    Abstract: A vibration-isolating composite material consists essentially of powder of an inorganic elastic material and a synthetic polymer mixed thereto. The inorganic elastic material is at least one material selected from the group consisting of NdP.sub.5 O.sub.4, BiVO.sub.3, Gd.sub.2 (MoO.sub.4).sub.3, GdNbO.sub.4 and KH.sub.2 PO.sub.4 and the synthetic polymer is at least one material selected from the group consisting of thermoplastic resins, thermosetting resins and rubber materials.

    Abstract: A vibration isolator composed of a low foam urethane elastomer having urethane bonds and a bulk density of 0.4-0.75 g/cm.sup.3 which is prepared from the starting foamable liquid of urethane elastomer composed substantially of(a) a polyether polyol having an average number of functional groups of 2.5-4.5 and a number average molecular weight of 2000-3500,(b) a vinyl monomer-grafted polyol having an average number of functional groups of 2.5-4.0 and the graft ratio is 4-20% by weight,(c) a liquid polybutadiene polyol having hydroxyl terminal group(s), an average number of functional groups of 2.0-3.0 and a number average molecular weight of 2000-7000,(d) an organic polyisocyanate,(e) a chain extender(f) a blowing agent, and(g) a urethanation catalyst,in such ratios that the NCO index is within the range of 90-110, and the concentration of the chain extender, based on the total amount of the five components of (a), (b), (c), (d) and (e), is 0.3.times.10.sup.-3 to 1.5.times.10.sup.-3 mol/g.

The vibration damper is composed of ethylene-(meth)acrylic acid salt copolymers or its modified products having a specific melting point and a particular heat of fusion. The composite laminate having at least one vibration damper exhibits excellent vibration damping performance, particularly at high temperatures.

    Abstract: A moldable sound control composite is disclosed combining in itself when molded damping, barrier performance, and structural strength for use within a predetermined environment temperature range. As such, the moldable composite is not applied to other structures to damp their sound generation, but forms by itself a complete structural member having not only desirable sound reducing properties but desirable strength properties as well. The composite comprises a blend of a primary non-viscoelastic organic polymeric resinous material intended to impart structural strength to the composite, a secondary viscoelastic organic polymeric resinous material to provide damping performance, and filler material adapted to densify the composite and impart barrier performance. Optionally, at least one of the primary and secondary resinous materials may be thermosetting.
